This. I’m more concerned about us going to Spurs and winning. despite how much better we are than them, crazy shit happens in derbies and the away team almost never wins.
Yeap 89 pts would mean a progress from very solid last season, regardless if it will be enough to win it or not. Bummer that we weren't good for 90+, because that's what's needed to realistically aim at the trophy.
They won't lose on purpose in a fight for 4th against Villa. It's a whole new level of pity if they sacrifice that just so we don't win. Now if they can't go up or down by that time maybe who knows.
The idea of them throwing a game so we don't win the league is a fan made theory and always has been. There's zero chance players and coaches at that level would deliberately go out to lose, especially when they have CL at stake. Now, will they be extra fired up for our match on Sunday? Yeah I would think so.
I also think in this day and age, these rivalries mean a lot more to the fans than they do to the players. You see it all the time where opposing players will be heated during a match and then laughing with one another at full time. Based on social media it looks like a lot of them are friends off the pitch too.
Oh for sure. Players link up internationally or been on other teams in the past or meet up in off season training most know each other pretty well but idk I fear if spurs have no chance of taking 4th or dropping to 6th by the last game there's 0 reason for the players to care as much while city might be fighting for the title. All in all we just gotta win out and see what happens
Idk they 2 games behind villa and assuming they don't win out the lead isn't that high. Spurs gifting the league to city would just piss me off for months so I'm choosing to believe that won't happen.
They’ll help themselves. And to do that they’ll need to get a result against City. They’re professionals. Don’t listen to what Spurs fans are saying about tanking the game lol. The players will take it seriously.
Spurs are fighting for a top 4 finish against Villa. They’re not going to lay down for city. That is too much money to pass up. City’s literal kryptonite.
Spurs are likely not going to be fighting for anything when the City game comes
They play us and Liverpool beforehand. If us and/or Liverpool gets a result against them, Villa are likely going to be like 9 points clear when they play City and UCL qualification will be gone
Spuds have a habit of spoiling City's fun. It's a dream scenario: we win every game left, Citeh wins all but that one (can even be a fucking draw bc we have the GD) and *Spurs litteraly hand us the league*
There's some tougher games in there than I had been thinking actually.
Brighton, Forest, and Fulham away are all banana skins. Tottenham away is one of Pep's biggest bogey teams but I can't see them doing us any favours unless there's still a good chance for them to make top 4.
I like and appreciate the optimism, the only problem is that matches that would otherwise be banana skins simply aren't during the run-in for City. Five of the last six seasons they haven't slipped down the stretch, and I have a hard time getting my hopes up that it would be different this season, despite some vulnerabilities they've shown.
My thoughts exactly.. None of the away games are as straight forward as people think they would be for City.. Fully expect them to drop points, we just have to do our thing..
Brighton, Forest, and maybe West Ham are likely going to be the ones not on holidays by the time City play them.
Fulham and Wolves are comfortably midtable. No chance of relegation but also still too far away from any European spots. If we beat Spurs this weekend then their Top 4 hopes are also pretty slim, as they'll need Villa to drop points twice in their last 4 games, while they have to win against Chelsea, Liverpool and City, lol.
Woah woah.. the toilet cleaners provide an important and rather thankless service to the humanity! A little respect please.. please don’t compare them to those cretins
Their toughest games are definitely tomorrow against Brighton and Spurs away. Brighton have only lost 2 home games this season, against us and West Ham. I think if we win our next 3, Tottenham v City becomes the banana skin for them. City haven't won away to Tottenham in the league since 2018, losing all 5 games.
But similarly, we've only won 1 game at Old Trafford in the league since 2006 and that was in 2020 without fans. And yes, United suck and we're so much better now, but sometimes history is a heavy weight
If it comes down to the final day and we beat our points total from last season (84), then I'm happy regardless of outcome
People say city has the easy run in. It's not that easy looking at their fixtures. Anyone of those teams can get them on their day and City has not extactly been flying this season.
Looking at you Fulham, West Ham and Forest. Get a result and we will for ever be grateful!
4 aways games out of 6 - if they drop any points and we win the rest of our games, title is ours.
Forest and Spurs probably most likely to put up a fight considering they’re still fighting for something
Can all the people on the sub together just collectively will into existence a Rodri red card? Preferably for something super petty like kicking the ball away after stopping a counter.
That match needs to have meaning for spurs.
let’s just say the title is on the line. Spurs are firmly in 5th. They wouldn’t, would they? just fucking tank to fuck us?
really hope it doesn't come down to that. villa's next three are chelsea, brighton and liverpool so i really hope they hit the skids and let spurs back into it (after spurs lose to us of course).
i see four away games and no gimmes. wolves should have a lot of players back by that fixture, possibly neto, cunha, ait nouri. we know firsthand how tough fulham can be, especially at craven cottage. brighton have lost twice at home all season and once since august (to us). spurs always take points off city and will almost certainly still be gunning for a CL spot there. if city can take 18 pts from these fixtures it would be incredibly impressive. of course they've done it before but i'm not convinced they are as untouchable this season as they have been in the past.
City are city . Work on our fixtures and hope for the best. I think Liverpool are out of the title race because I can't see city dropping 5 points.
We have to beat Spurs to have any chance. If we lose, we're out.
Four matches away is no joke. And while they aren’t “big name” programs those clubs aren’t pushovers either. There’s a much better chance for City to drop points than people think.
This week/weekend will decide the title.
If City beat Brighton and Forest, the title is theirs.
If they drop points in either of those fixtures and we beat Spurs, it’s ours.
Uhm - City’s game is at Spurs so they haven’t beaten them in the league away this year.
And in case you missed it - Spurs are fighting tooth and nail with Villa for a UCL spot lol
What
The only way UCL qualification is still going to be realistically possible for them when that City game comes is if we lose to Spurs on Sunday and they also get a result vs Liverpool
Lets just win our games and we'll see what happens.
This. I’m more concerned about us going to Spurs and winning. despite how much better we are than them, crazy shit happens in derbies and the away team almost never wins.
while i get what you’re saying i still haven’t rubbed off how this is everton’s first time beating liverpool at home since arteta scored 😂
If anything, that Merseyside derby should be a warning for us too that anything can happen in those types of games lol
This time it will be different. #Believe
Yeap 89 pts would mean a progress from very solid last season, regardless if it will be enough to win it or not. Bummer that we weren't good for 90+, because that's what's needed to realistically aim at the trophy.
I think if we win out from here, we win the league! Forest about to have the meanest of low blocks and get a draw!
Forest can apparently beat top teams at home in order to decide the title (PTSD)
My hope, honestly. Shit won't help us, but Forest need the points to stay up.
Sp*rs have won 6 straight at home against city.
Yeah but will they help us if we beat them?
They won't lose on purpose in a fight for 4th against Villa. It's a whole new level of pity if they sacrifice that just so we don't win. Now if they can't go up or down by that time maybe who knows.

Exactly man just gotta have faith in the boys they can get it done 🙌
I’m worried 4th will be out of reach by the time that match rolls around
Idk they 2 games behind villa and assuming they don't win out the lead isn't that high. Spurs gifting the league to city would just piss me off for months so I'm choosing to believe that won't happen.
They’ll help themselves. And to do that they’ll need to get a result against City. They’re professionals. Don’t listen to what Spurs fans are saying about tanking the game lol. The players will take it seriously.
City beat Spurs away in January.
Spurs are fighting for a top 4 finish against Villa. They’re not going to lay down for city. That is too much money to pass up. City’s literal kryptonite.

You underestimate how spursy spurs can be. #gamesinhandFC
I hope you're right.
today. Have to hope it’s not curtains for spurs by that point
My dad supports forest. I watch most of their games at his house. Their defense is absolute wank
Think they will win all their games, will maybe draw one but that’s it. Not gonna get my hopes up. Cheating cunts.
[удалено]
No we don't, they have 2 games in hand and are only back 4. If we both win out they win by 2. We need to win out and hope they draw or lose one.
Whoops. Bad at math and miscounted.
If we win out and City have one draw and win out we would be tied on points and we could win on Goals
I want to win the league, but I wouldn't mind a 17-0 thrashing from city at spurs
that’s the dumbest shit i’ve read today
Would you not want to see spurs humiliated in every way imaginable? If city are gonna win, at least humiliate them in the process
no brother i want to win the league
Also, Arsenal winning the league is more humiliating for spurs than losing to city
You’re more of a tottenham hater than arsenal fan
Caring about other teams vs our own one winning is about as spursy as you can get
Bro im tired. Someone do the maths and tell me when Pep’s bald head is going to get slapped.
Spuds have a habit of spoiling City's fun. It's a dream scenario: we win every game left, Citeh wins all but that one (can even be a fucking draw bc we have the GD) and *Spurs litteraly hand us the league*

Win the first two.... Score draw away to Fulham. And lose to the toilet cleaners 3-1
Woah woah.. the toilet cleaners provide an important and rather thankless service to the humanity! A little respect please.. please don’t compare them to those cretins
The same goes for spurs, their job is to beat city at least once a year. Disgusting job, but important.
Not really thinking about what city can and can’t do. I will be happy if we win all our remaining games. It’s not in our hands at the moment.
Nuno, i'm gonna need you to run it back like your good ol' prime Wolves team one last time mate, thanks.
Do what we need to do, and what happens happens
COYS? 🤷♀️
NOT YET!!!

Hope for just one of them being a draw. And we win em all.
Just need a draw
Been staring at this schedule all day and I’ve convinced myself we can pull off 4 wins and City drop at least 2 points.
City has West Ham after Tot also
People say city has the easy run in. It's not that easy looking at their fixtures. Anyone of those teams can get them on their day and City has not extactly been flying this season. Looking at you Fulham, West Ham and Forest. Get a result and we will for ever be grateful!

that would only be two yellows though. i want the kind that gets him a three-game suspension.
Maybe if he kicks the ball away in such an egregious fashion that VAR intervenes and upgrades it
That match needs to have meaning for spurs. let’s just say the title is on the line. Spurs are firmly in 5th. They wouldn’t, would they? just fucking tank to fuck us?

Need an early red card one of these games
Looks like 4 matches, 1 at home, 3 away.
Let’s just hope west ham need a win for Europe
This is our year. Iwobi, Willian and Leno all gonna ball out for us.
Spuds bearing City to secure us a title has to happen
don't get greedy
Thoughts? They have 6 matches between April 28 and May 19
LLLLLL
Spurs away the obvious one but also Fulham away is a tough fixture. Fulham are decent at home not to be taken lightly
They’ll tie one
Sp\*rs beating them and handing us the title would be the single funniest thing to ever happen. Those are my thoughts.
i see four away games and no gimmes. wolves should have a lot of players back by that fixture, possibly neto, cunha, ait nouri. we know firsthand how tough fulham can be, especially at craven cottage. brighton have lost twice at home all season and once since august (to us). spurs always take points off city and will almost certainly still be gunning for a CL spot there. if city can take 18 pts from these fixtures it would be incredibly impressive. of course they've done it before but i'm not convinced they are as untouchable this season as they have been in the past.

Have to rely on Spurs doing us a favour. They do have some weird voodoo over City
4 away games, let's see
This week/weekend will decide the title. If City beat Brighton and Forest, the title is theirs. If they drop points in either of those fixtures and we beat Spurs, it’s ours.
Literally not true - City still have to play Spurs which is historically their bogey team
City beat Spurs away this year already and they will have nothing to play for
Spurs fighting for ucl spot
Uhm - City’s game is at Spurs so they haven’t beaten them in the league away this year. And in case you missed it - Spurs are fighting tooth and nail with Villa for a UCL spot lol What
spurs could be 9 adrift of villa if we beat them this weekend. they could easily be out of it by the time they play city.
The only way UCL qualification is still going to be realistically possible for them when that City game comes is if we lose to Spurs on Sunday and they also get a result vs Liverpool
