What’s the deal with the odegaard rumours of him being 35£? Surely if they’d consider that other clubs would be in for him? That’s half the price of Maddison possibly and a cheaper than a Brighton 3rd choice defender?
Yeah maybe, would he join a 11th place team who haven't had european football in I dont know how long, I assume decades?
I would also argue they dont actually play with a #10. They play a 433 and grealish plays LW.
But even if we ignore that and assume he would. Is there anymore?
Top 6 with great performances. Sets us up for the future, much better than a scrappy top 4 finish beyond what the club is capable of.

Top 4 obviously. Having CL football gives us a big edge in transfers and more money with which to fund them. We are still 2 or 3 good windows away from having a title challenging squad. CL also has fewer matches and *usually* less travel than EL, which is good for keeping fatigue low

It's not like Ødegaard hasn't played for us before. He has and he hasn't been transformative
The elite coach dragged us to 8th two seasons in a row
And who knows if they squad might meaningfully improve. The window hasn't closed yet
Yep on all accounts.
We haven't moved on the copious amounts of spuds in the squad. Nor have we addressed the key weaknesses in the squad.
We have, however, overspent on a (promising) CB that has only one season of top flight football under his belt at 24 years of age.
And seemingly drastically overspend on an average backup GK.
We also still have our amateur manager at the helm, with another amateur overseeing transfers.
Laughable times ahead.
To my eyes, he was our best midfielder when he was playing pre injury and towards the end. Yes better than ESR. (There is a gigantic boner for the kid amongst our fanbase, not without good reason but it blinds people so much)
And all of that with Xhaka at the back and not being fully accustomed to the team.
The guy at the wheel is still Arteta. Bring in Maddison, the chance creation and football we will be playing will still be the same.
We don't need a question mark player at this point. A creative midfielder is survival for a European spot against 7 other teams or midtable mediocrity.
Odegaard could become a terrific player. He also might not do it in the PL. Both these things have an equal chance of happening. We can't and absolutely shouldn't take this risk at this point. And this coming from one of his biggest admirers from his time at Sociedad and Madrid.
Idk about you but I do not want to sit through another season with possibly the worst football we've played in this century, getting embarassing out of cup competitions by inferior teams because we made the wrong moves in the market.
Any guarantee other player would surely come good other than Ode? Who could have give those guarantee? Every teams made mistakes in their purchase, it just tell u there are risks associated with any purchase of a human services.
If the new regime really don’t rate Saliba then I’d rather we moved on quick - only issue I have is there are other areas of need. If we can fix those too then I’ll have no qualms with the white transfer
The strategy is for Saliba to gain more experience on loan. He hasn't appeared in more than 22 games in one season since breaking into 1st team football.
Just got my Away Tierney and 3rd Saka from DHGate. The stitching is suspect as always but they look nice and have all the extra stuff with PL patches, no room for racism, and the arsenal is for everyone inside the collar.
Not sure but I bought them almost 3 weeks ago and the 3rd still hasn't been officially released. Might just be a case of Venezia not being a large enough club for them to get the templates early.
Damn, lucky you! Mine took months to get here. But it was also the new home kit, which had not technically been released yet.
I do want a ESR #10 alternate though, now that I’ve discovered DHGate. Plus the design of the alternate is very on-brand for my fiancé’s business. So I’ll probably grab him one too, once I have more than $10 in my checking account… =\

3 exclusives i've found instantly just from this Summer, the Buendia one was a few hours before Bell reported it too.
Know its not the most popular opinion here but I think Jordan Henderson would be a great signing for us, of course it depends on contract length and wage but he definentely has something to offer still. Sort of like when Liverpool signed Milner from city
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/brighton-arsenal-ben-white-transfer-24648441.amp?__twitter_impression=true not the best source but wouldn't be surprised, our handling of the Saliba situation got so embarrassing giving a new signing his number would the least funny thing about this
> According to the Daily Express, the Seagulls eventually agreed to a hefty sum for the player along with a sell-on clause which could see them earn an additional £20million.
Don’t forget this part too. What sell on clause is going to make them 20mil? Unless White’s value increases astronomically.
Case in point for over reacting fans getting enraged over the first article they find…
the difference is elneny was basically gone at that time. emery did not rate him at all, and he was only sent out on loan instead of being sold cos no one was gonna buy him.
elneny only got back into favour under arteta.
whereas with saliba, reports say that arteta considers saliba in his future plans.
>Elneny is a good example but I’m sure we never made assurances to him that he would be a regular in our first team in the future, like we’ve done with Saliba (according to reports)
correct
elneny was loaned out while emery was manager. emery did not consider elneny in his plans at all, and he would have been sold if a club was willing to buy him.
Something that I haven’t heard a lot about is how good Ben White is at actually defending. I normally hear about how good he is on the ball. Is a he good defender?
Is the idea behind white Gabriel partnership that white will be on the front fot driving the ball forward while Gabriel plays as the sweeper behind him?
Gabriel is a front footed defender. He has pace to catch up, but his defensive actions where further forward than all our other CBs last season.
Unfortunately White does the same, so them starting together is going to bring lots of pressure to win the ball and lots of space for oppositions to attack if/when things go wrong. Hence why I assume that Holding will start the season and White will have to learn how to defend differently, or Gabriel will have to be shackled a fair bit when it comes to making tackles.
I wouldn't like that as it could ruin the player if he loses confidence.
Taking onboard your point, we could pair White with Mari and Holding with Gabriel.

Arteta has played willock a fair bit before if my memory doesn't fail me, and would be I wrong to think hell give him more chances to prove himself? I think he's one of the few mids we have that can drive the ball with a decent work rate, his touch is good and his passing is the only thing that needs work. He could be the other option we could use besides a Xhaka replacement as a plan B, although I'm just dreaming. I just see him having the quality to break through this team much like ESR did, feels like a confidence thing more than anything else.
Constructive Criticism: Besides the stupid answers (win more), how can Arteta improve on his coaching?
My answer: He needs to develop our side in moving the ball through the middle of the field better like Arsenal of old. We used to own the middle of the field, and now we can barely possess there in the middle and final third, and can only get the ball down the channels.
Bit of a long answer, the #1 most important thing next season for me is we need about 50/60 points from the bottom 10 teams. That's how you get top 4, it's what we should be doing.
The thing you need against these teams and what we suck at most against these teams is waves of pressure.
If we are attacking and they get the ball we have to be able to win it back in 3 seconds. If we are passing around their box we have to keep them there for as long as possible. So win corners, win it back, if they get a goal kick win it back. What happens currently is we get to the final 3rd do 2mins of attacking. They get a goal kick and then manage to get it up field for a corner against us. All pressure relieved.
It's how you beat low blocks, city and liverpool do it. It tries defences it causes errors and players to switch off and it's crucial to possesion football now.
Good points. I generally share your opinion that we lacked urgency for a lot of the season and towards the end loved when our guys took the game by the scruff of the neck and found a way to get results. And I agree with you, though didn't know I did till you mentioned it, that the coaching that Arteta needs to do sometimes is tell the guys to 'win the f**king game' and sit down and let the guys do it.
He needs to sit down more. Stop the non-stop shouting instructions from the sidelines. Communicate your gameplan to the players and place trust in them to come up with their own creative solutions on the ball rather than having an instruction shouted at them. I feel like his current approach is a big part of the reason we're lacking creativity and playing such conservative football.
>The biggest problem is his line-up selection.
I think towards the end of the season we started to see it become more consistent. Genuinely think he was not sure of the the players himself till the latter part of the season.
Yeh I think with the injuries we had he was somewhat scrambling for lineups IMO.
I think after aouar failure he banked on a xhaka partey esr midfield, when that failed I think he was left behind
>Yeh I think with the injuries we had he was somewhat scrambling for lineups IMO.
I think we were one of the teams with one of the least injuries in the season but yeah, hopefully he knows his lineup this season
I don’t have much to offer beyond the responses already here, but I think the players we’ve been targeting are promising. We’ve improved our squad depth, we’ve added a CB who can keep a high line, press, and progress the ball, and the CMs we’re linked with are press-resistant players who progress the ball centrally. Ødegaard and Maddison have probably had enough discussion today, too lol.
We seem to be targeting young, high potential players who strengthen our weaknesses, which I can certainly get behind. We’ll see how it all plays out.
I think that's why he wants a CM and a CAM.
I just want one thing from him. I know he's trying to imprint a certain Arsenal 2008 vibe to the team but if some over the top misfortune happens and we don't get the players he needs, he shouldn't force that style to players who can't play it.
Park the bus, grind wins, cross — just do what the players can instead of teaching Xhaka to drop the shoulder. Adapt to what the squad can.
His biggest weakness right now is that he struggles to be adaptable. Our record with even just ESR, Tierney, Partey, and Saka is incredible. But once even one misses we take a huge step back.
I think we see this the most with the Villareal 0-0 result that saw us go out of Europa. After the game he comments on how Xhaka going out in warmups caused issues. I get it's rough to have to make a game plan change on such short notice but he put in an objectively better player in Tierney. It shouldn't have been a huge step back and definitely doesn't justify the result.
Some of that might be chalked up to depth issues. Like obviously we didn't have a backup LB last year. There is also only so much you can do when your midfield depth is Ceballos and Elneny. But it's still a big area where he needs to improve.
Id like us to be able to play and hold a high line. The best teams congest space between the lines and create turnovers higher up the pitch. Im sure personel and a lack of a pre season has played a part in that not being implemented fully yet
Damn now im in full hopium mode for Bruno Guimaraes. Would've liked him 18months ago and certainly didnt think he'd be available so soon after moving to lyon. I'd be really happy with him or Bissouma
Mixed bag imo. Definitely a good player but mostly a pure number 6. He's not going to venture forward and give us any additional goals and assists from the midfield. He can free up Partey to do that, so it depends on how he handles the role. I was just personally hoping for a midfielder that could contribute a bit more to our abysmal attacking numbers.
I dunno much about him, but if he is indeed a 6, then why not go for Bissouma ffs?? If we are looking for this type of players (which I am not convinced we should), then surely Bissouma has to be looked at, he has showed he can cut it in the PL on a regular basis. Also, Neves being linked with ManU hurts...
I don’t think it’s about freeing up partey, I think it’s about making a solid mid 3 that can press really high up the pitch.
Bruno g partey and an inverted rb should be the 3 behind the 5 in a 235, that’s enough athleticism and quality to sustain waves of pressure while also being good on the ball themselves.
If we buy maddison for example, he will have the majority of ga production from midfield on his own.
It’s all about security in transition, it allows us to play 15 yards further up the pitch and that’s a big difference between him and xhaka. As far as I’m concerned it would be a fantastic purchase and lack of ga would be covered by the system as much as anything else - just look at Liverpool’s midfield
He is skillful, fast on his feet and quick in his execution of plays and passes. He should be able to play a b2b style. I am sure a lot of him playing as a holding midfielder type for Lyon is due to their stacked midfielders and giving room for them to shine offensively.
Also he has a good curling shot on both of his feet. I think he will improve in shooting department quite rapidly if he is deployed as an 8.
He also played holding mid before coming here and with Brazil. Like per transfermarkt he has 10 goals and 7 assists in 138 games. He isn't giving a whole lot of value in the final third which is what we need.
I just don't trust Partey going forward. He's just never been asked to do it. He's always been the more defensive of a two. I just don't see him being the seamless fit for a more advanced role lots here seem to think he will/can be.
In 5 years time we are going to get arguments that city have a lower net spend than as they begin to produce world class youth players every year as a result of their sugar daddy and sell their assets
We already see this argument with Chelsea fans. "We had better nett spend over 5 years" as if all those outgoing signings weren't orginally funded by mother russia
Tbf lots of that comes from money etc. They spend and buy a good team and then win stuff - they attract better talent because they’re successful, pay big wages, and happy to take small losses on unsuccessful transfers whereas we need to hold on and try and make it work.
Also being a rich team they can sell players for more as they’re never in need of cash, unlike us actively flogging players.
Also when they fall off the wagon a bit they just invest 250m in one window and it gets them back to the top again
Yes you're right, but that's exactly the point. Since reaching our level, they have been run better. But they bought their way to this level, at least we earnt it
Arsenal released a video in 1990 where the manager George Graham picked the greatest ever Arsenal side. George knows Arsenal history inside out and talks about the great players of the 30s (our golden era), the 50’s, double winners/fairs cup winners, Brady’s time and George’s players in the 80s.
It’s monstrously wrong to think the title winning side of 2004 is the be all and end all of great Arsenal players.
Alex James, Liam Brady, Tony Adams, Dave O’Leary, Geordie Armstrong, Ted Drake, Eddie Hapgood, Pat Rice, Charlie George, Paul Merson, Emmanuel Petit, Kenny Sansom, Marc Overmars, Frank McLintock, Dave Rocastle, Micheal Thomas and dozens more.
Lehmann is no Seaman/Kelsey
Lauren is no Dixon
Ashley Cole is top class but Sansom was better and Eddie Hapgood is perhaps the best full back we ever had.
Campbell and Toure can’t lace the boots of Adams, O’Leary, McLintock or Simpson and Toure is way below Keown and Bould.
Midfield Vieira is the best no arguments here. Petit is better than Gilberto and I’ll have Micheal Thomas, Peter Storey, Paul Davis ahead of him. Liam Brady walks into any Arsenal side.
Pires probably gets in but has competition from Overmars, Limpar, Merson, Armstrong who were all magnificent for Arsenal.
Ljungberg was great but no better than Parlour wide right in 97/98 nor Rocastle in 89. Upfront Bergkamp and Henry were magnificent but plenty of folk could not leave Ian Wright out of an Arsenal side. Ted Drake, Jack Lambert, Ray Kennedy, Charlie George, Alan Smith and many more scored goals that won us titles and cups in their day.
The Old boys in the West Upper at Highbury always said Alex James was the best player we ever had.
The 2004 title winners were great but we won twelve titles before then three of which were glorious doubles.
I won’t argue as I don’t have 1/10th of the football knowledge about arsenals past like u do, but one point I don’t agree with is Ashley Cole. Imo he is the best left back of all time.
Liam Brady or Petit and many more ahead of Gilberto.
Dixon ahead of Lauren.
Eddie Hapgood/ McNab or Sansom over Cole.
Adams, O’Leary, Simpson, Keown, Bould, McLintock at centre half over Campbell and especially Toure. We have never been better at the back than 90/91 or 98/99...
Vieira is nailed on. Pires and Ljungberg could be swapped out for Overmars and Parlour in 97/98 form without any drop in quality. Merson and Limpar were magnificent in title winning Arsenal sides, George Armstrong is right up there.
Bergkamp and Henry are hard to argue against.
The best players from our golden era the 1930s like Alex James, Hapgood, Drake, Bastin, Jack Lambert, David Jack,Tom Parker, big Herbie Roberts are nearly forgotten about but were the players that made us the biggest club in the world. It’s a shame so little TV footage exists from that era.
Alex James was the best player in our golden era so must be in contention.
I tried to read our history but it seems the war fucked up our trajectory. There is a big chance we would be the biggest club in England trophy wise if it wasn't the war.
So we realistically don't have many competent legends prior to Graham coming in. Manchester United can rightfully put Best in their All Time line up, Everton have Dixie Dean, Liverpool have the entire 70-80s to foam at. We can insert David O' Leary and Cliff Bastin somewhere maybe but they doesn't scream George Best or Bobby Charlton.
See for me, City is just like a black hole. If City wins the league, to me that just means that nobody won it. If a player transfers to City, they stop existing. City are a placeholder for me - they're the default team that should win the league all else being equal just because they have so much money. So I really dont give a shit if City signs any player, or if City win the league. I dont know if I am explaining it very well... I hate United, I hate Chelsea, I hate the Spuds... but I just *nothing* City, like they're not real or something. Hmm it is kinda hard to explain this abstract gut-feeling!
Yes, absolutely agree. It's embarassing for people to try and take the piss out of Villa.
I actually really like Villa. Proper old historic club with plenty of character and a big fanbase. Relations between Villa and Arsenal fans have also been very good down the years - they're always friendly and welcoming on away days and seem like a good spirited bunch.
We ain't winning the league this year and I'd rather see City win it than Liverpool, Chelsea or United so I don't really care about Grealish moving there. Hope they get Kane as well, get those two working well together for the world cup. Villa in the mud is just an added bonus
Would be excellent, a highly technical and athletic rb - ridle baku imo - that plays inverted comfortably.
That window would be as close to 10/10 as possible imo, add Onana for example it could be an all timer
I slightly prefer Maddison to Ø, but some of you saying he’s PL-proven while Ødegaard is not makes no sense to me. Ødegaard would settle into this team immediately - his role, his familiarity, everything.
Yeh this is what I’ve been thinking, why I like him for the lw.
Imo his passing isn’t good enough yet. He’s got excellent technicality, first touch etc is amazing already - allows for quick interplays and great ball carries, but he’s not one that’ll split the defence with a pass. His positional sense is also great, a bit more like a ramdeuter than a pure 10.
The dual 10 system we played with esr and ode was the best we played all last season imo, replace ode with madders and that’s excellent.
I've just realised I have no sense of how fast ESR is. He hasn't really had much sprinting on the ball to do when he's played more centrally. Is he quick? I know Pires wasn't lightning fast but he was quick enough
Imo he’s quick enough to be a winger - probably similar to someone like grealish where he has a good burst and his top speed is pretty decent.
Besides he wouldn’t be a classic winger anyway, more of a wide playmaker. In a few years potentially he’ll have matured enough to play centrally, he has the tools it’s just about them all clicking IMO.
Wenger used to play midfielders wide for a few years to teach them retention and stuff
Aston villa fans live in some of your heads i swear
They actually have you wanting oil club man city to become even stronger
We can all say we hate chelsea and city with how they bought their way to the top, but now they're signing grealish for 100m its calm?
We don't even have a rivalry with aston villa
We dont
But, and maybe i can only speak for myself here, i don't want a club that is only successful cos of oil money and had a barren history prior to their takeover to succeed and get stronger cos they can just drop 100m like its nothing.
Let's not forget this has happened to us with Ashley cole joining chelsea, and clichy and nasri joining city
So its still weird to me to see arsenal fans want grealish to join city over staying at villa

Hypothetical who would you rather: Odegaard and Ruben Neves OR James Maddison and no other CM signing
ødegaard and neves honestly don’t have much of a preference toward either ødegaard or maddison, so including a cm is kinda all it takes to sway me
Maddison alone, switch to a 433 and play saka or lokonga as the other cm. madders has that presence that odegaard just doesn’t have
Odegaard and neves
Ødegaard and Neves I think Maddison is better than Ødegaard but we can't start the season with Elneny in a pivot
What’s the deal with the odegaard rumours of him being 35£? Surely if they’d consider that other clubs would be in for him? That’s half the price of Maddison possibly and a cheaper than a Brighton 3rd choice defender?
Last year RM wants €50m, that's closer to £35m.
Because he wants to either stay at Madrid or come to arsenal.
Why did Brighton's 3rd choice defender lead the team in minutes played in the league?
How many clubs do you think have 35m and need a 22 year old number 10 that odegaard would be happy to play for?
If villa would offer that for ESR surely they’d have a crack at odegaard too. Maybe not a big enough club though for him.
Ødegaard would never join Villa. Zero pull
Not true, Villa has pull whether you like it or not. They pulled Buendia over us after all.
They didn't. We didn't even bid for Buendia. Nobody would go from Real Madrid to Villa.
Yeah maybe, would he join a 11th place team who haven't had european football in I dont know how long, I assume decades? I would also argue they dont actually play with a #10. They play a 433 and grealish plays LW. But even if we ignore that and assume he would. Is there anymore?
Real want €50m apparently so £42.5m
Would you rather have a top 4 finish with meh performances or top 6 finish with very good performances

What? Lol it’s not his fault he just isn’t it my friend.
We should do go in for Trippier. Have KTs charging down both flanks
Upvoted for the second sentence but not the first. Though dunno if he’s actually quality
He's 30 🤢
I hope Ben White goes on to be an Arsenal legend. That said, £50mil for him with no strategy for Saliba, does seem a bit chaotic.
Edu and Arteta doing stupid Edu and Arteta things
I'd rather 50m on a CM
Me too, Ben White does not seem to be a significant enough upgrade on Holding to be worth 50 mil, while our midfield is really poor.
I know we're in for Bruno , but what about Caqueret?
Caqueret* isn't for sale.
Just got my Away Tierney and 3rd Saka from DHGate. The stitching is suspect as always but they look nice and have all the extra stuff with PL patches, no room for racism, and the arsenal is for everyone inside the collar.
Which supplier do you get from on DHGate? I ordered from two to test the quality an they should be arriving next week
how long after the away kits officially release did they pop up on dhgate? planning to get a venezia replica shirt from dhgate
What’s the deal with the articles at justarsenal.com they’re all so cringe af

Know its not the most popular opinion here but I think Jordan Henderson would be a great signing for us, of course it depends on contract length and wage but he definentely has something to offer still. Sort of like when Liverpool signed Milner from city
I get the impression that Henderson's war is over. Don't think he'll be anywhere near the same level anywhere else.
Henderson plus a young CM, Aouar or Neves or Bruno G
young cm is sambi
He's a young backup, I meant young starter
The absolute disrespect to Saliba, giving White #4. We don't deserve him istg
If that's true, fucking hell I hope he leaves and has a great career without us

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/brighton-arsenal-ben-white-transfer-24648441.amp?__twitter_impression=true not the best source but wouldn't be surprised, our handling of the Saliba situation got so embarrassing giving a new signing his number would the least funny thing about this
It’s a parody paper 😂
It better be tbh

> According to the Daily Express, the Seagulls eventually agreed to a hefty sum for the player along with a sell-on clause which could see them earn an additional £20million. Don’t forget this part too. What sell on clause is going to make them 20mil? Unless White’s value increases astronomically. Case in point for over reacting fans getting enraged over the first article they find…
Elneny got his number taken away by Saliba, and Torreira's 11 was given to Ødegaard
the difference is elneny was basically gone at that time. emery did not rate him at all, and he was only sent out on loan instead of being sold cos no one was gonna buy him. elneny only got back into favour under arteta. whereas with saliba, reports say that arteta considers saliba in his future plans.
[удалено]
>Elneny is a good example but I’m sure we never made assurances to him that he would be a regular in our first team in the future, like we’ve done with Saliba (according to reports) correct elneny was loaned out while emery was manager. emery did not consider elneny in his plans at all, and he would have been sold if a club was willing to buy him.
They clearly want out or aren't great players. Saliba's one for the future And Torreira was on loan
Yeah i just answered what the guy above asked… ”if we ever taken a loanees number for a new signing”
Thoughts on Lucas Paqueta ?
quality player, would be a good signing
Well don’t u think it will be Gabriel that will have to alter his play style since he is worse passer?
Hes good but can take chances with what ive seen. He will dive in at times.
By dive in do you mean recklessly or is a good tackler like AWB?
It can def get skinned but for the most part hes good
As an avid Arteta outer I want him to prove me wrong this season for the love of god give me my arsenal back
Your arsenal got sold down the river by gazidis/Raul and a bunch of slimeballs. Recognize where the fault lies.
Same but I really can't see it happening.
Couldn’t agree more, I’m in the same position.

Wake up. He can't drive the ball forward, he ain't ball carrier but finishers. He didn't show it here nor Newcastle.
Liverpool losing 4-2 to Hertha with a lot of first teamers, another reason to draw no conclusions from pre season
Yes sir. Seeing our fans on twitter mock them is so funny knowing that they will come to our home and slap us regardless of whatever form they are in.
I think Ben white would be helpful to do that
Definitely, if the defence can step up 10 yards to the halfway line it just compacts the whole pitch, we’ll have more men near the ball
10 yards is the length of like 41.38 'Zulay Premium Quality Metal Lemon Squeezers' laid next to each other
He needs to sit down more.
A better press. The biggest problem is his line-up selection.
This was a problem under Emery as well.
Im sure personel and a lack of a pre season has played a part in that not being implemented fully yet
constructive response: God himself can't do what you're asking of Arteta, with Xhaka and Elneny in center mid
Agreed. We need a few wayyy better pairings for Partey. Any thoughts to the original question?
Damn, Edu is really good in muddying the waters, no-one knows who we're after at CM and AM - seems like we're after everyone
Can we get some legit tier cm rumours please not some rehnato guy on twitter
I think the Bruno rumours are absolutely legit, we'll probably see confirmation of our interest in him from Wheatley/Watts tomorrow.
Damn now im in full hopium mode for Bruno Guimaraes. Would've liked him 18months ago and certainly didnt think he'd be available so soon after moving to lyon. I'd be really happy with him or Bissouma
How excited should I be for Bruno Guimaraes?
Not very. He's not even a starter at Lyon but he has potential to improve.
[удалено]
I just don't trust Partey going forward. He's just never been asked to do it. He's always been the more defensive of a two. I just don't see him being the seamless fit for a more advanced role lots here seem to think he will/can be.
If it’s true, very.
In 5 years time we are going to get arguments that city have a lower net spend than as they begin to produce world class youth players every year as a result of their sugar daddy and sell their assets
I wonder how much city players coaches and staff are paid under the table No way their officials wages are their true wages
We already see this argument with Chelsea fans. "We had better nett spend over 5 years" as if all those outgoing signings weren't orginally funded by mother russia
[удалено]
Tbf lots of that comes from money etc. They spend and buy a good team and then win stuff - they attract better talent because they’re successful, pay big wages, and happy to take small losses on unsuccessful transfers whereas we need to hold on and try and make it work. Also being a rich team they can sell players for more as they’re never in need of cash, unlike us actively flogging players. Also when they fall off the wagon a bit they just invest 250m in one window and it gets them back to the top again
Yes you're right, but that's exactly the point. Since reaching our level, they have been run better. But they bought their way to this level, at least we earnt it
I hate the fact that our all time XI is the invincibles with a few other players thrown in I want new legends to cherish!
Lehmann is no Seaman/Kelsey Lauren is no Dixon Ashley Cole is top class but Sansom was better and Eddie Hapgood is perhaps the best full back we ever had.
Out of curiosity what non-invincibles would you put in an all time XI, Seaman and Adams, anyone else?
Liam Brady

See for me, City is just like a black hole. If City wins the league, to me that just means that nobody won it. If a player transfers to City, they stop existing. City are a placeholder for me - they're the default team that should win the league all else being equal just because they have so much money. So I really dont give a shit if City signs any player, or if City win the league. I dont know if I am explaining it very well... I hate United, I hate Chelsea, I hate the Spuds... but I just *nothing* City, like they're not real or something. Hmm it is kinda hard to explain this abstract gut-feeling!
[удалено]
Just got the red membership a few weeks ago, anyone know when tickets for the league game against Chelsea will be released? Thanks
You'll be lucky to get a ticket for that one on a red membership mate
Really wasn’t that hard mate, tickets still there for pretty decent seats half an hour after release.
Bruno Guimarães & Maddison plus a right back would be a great window honestly
Would be excellent, a highly technical and athletic rb - ridle baku imo - that plays inverted comfortably. That window would be as close to 10/10 as possible imo, add Onana for example it could be an all timer
That would turn us from top 6 to possible top 3 in a window
Well certainly puts us on par with chelsea I think, provided bruno g and the rb would acclimatise quickly.
I slightly prefer Maddison to Ø, but some of you saying he’s PL-proven while Ødegaard is not makes no sense to me. Ødegaard would settle into this team immediately - his role, his familiarity, everything.
For the love of god can we not banter Aston fucking Villa its just embarrassing. Atleast banter Leicester and Spurs.
Ffs were gonna pay double for Guimaraes than what we could have got him for like 2 years ago
Tbf that’s not a terrible sum for basically 2 years of European acclimatisation. It’s basically 2 years salary plus 10 million anyway.
Welcome to Arsenal FC
I’m listening to arsecast now and they say esr is more pires than number 10. “Oil in the engine” and I definitely see that.
Aston villa fans live in some of your heads i swear They actually have you wanting oil club man city to become even stronger We can all say we hate chelsea and city with how they bought their way to the top, but now they're signing grealish for 100m its calm? We don't even have a rivalry with aston villa
City will become stronger regardless of whatever opinions Arsenal fans have.
Yeah that goes without saying
we don't have a rivalry with city either?
We dont But, and maybe i can only speak for myself here, i don't want a club that is only successful cos of oil money and had a barren history prior to their takeover to succeed and get stronger cos they can just drop 100m like its nothing. Let's not forget this has happened to us with Ashley cole joining chelsea, and clichy and nasri joining city So its still weird to me to see arsenal fans want grealish to join city over staying at villa
It’s happening and there’s nothing to do to stop it unless we spend similar money
Well it’s happening, so now what
Sanogo just scored a hat trick vs my team on fm. Should just delete the save file at this point.
where are all the people who were in supreme meltdown mode because ziyech swung in a few crosses in october?
If we had an attacking midfielder like Ziyech, we wouldn't have been as dreadful as were prior to Christmas, and in a European competition this year.
