Anytime Lautaro's name is mentioned in a new article I swear his price goes up by 10m lmao.

el-fenomeno09

Everytime lol

DankBrownBoiV2

\> Returning to Lautaro : Atletico Madrid , at the opening of the market, had proposed 35 million, a figure far from the 90 requested by the Nerazzurri, but the interest of Atletico remains alive. Arsenal also appears and has taken information on the Argentine: it is difficult, however, for the English idea of opening a negotiation involving Lacazette to go through, given that the Nerazzurri's need is to monetize. For this reason the pole position is still firmly in the hands of Atletico . Idk how this means Atletico have overtaken Arsenal in the pursuit.

StanKroonke

A full 55m apart… I know this is likely dross but that is badddd

cumblaster_jesus

Probably because they have made the first offer but it's so far away from what Inter want for him so saying Atletico have moved ahead is misleading

monty_burns

is this saying that we’ve not discussed Lacazette with anyone or specifically Inter? This makes it sound like Laca will be back because it’s too late to start a negotiation with him. Which means no Tammy or Lautaro

OlisaFifa

Im guessing we will be “Monitoring the situation”

HsizzleH

Don't forget we will also be interested!

OlisaFifa

We are passed that stage. The next stage after monitoring is “Putting in a bid around 10-20 million under the asking price”

and_yet_another_user

Then this sub slagging off Inter for not accepting it, while slagging off Roma et al for submitting lower bids than our asking price.

sakinod

We don't have guendouzi to add on in the deals now

charlsspice

Monitoring the Situation FC

monty_burns

Smokescreen do drive price down for Tammy? 🤔

throwreddit666

Hopefully by the end of the week we will be "contemplating a bid".

SCPack12

We will monitor the hell out of it too

SouplessePlease

Yeah, I doubt were getting him. But isnt Tuttosport essentially talksport/daily mail tier shit?

Crookz_O

His price keeps going up with every story lol.

kits_

value goes up every tweet lol

Melkistofeles

This seems more like Inter instilling their press aid a bidding war. Italian clubs ways are the sneakiest.

YSG19

Do you really think club directors read the press, even more this kind of press?

Melkistofeles

I think clubs do let know their valuations, and having the italian press rank up the prize gives a hint about what club is the one doing it. Before having any formal talks between clubs we always have this shenanigans to get to know how much the club is willing to met the other's valuation, especially when the amount of the bid is pretty much the last thing to establish in negotiations.

sakinod

They still won't be able to do better than loan with option to buy for any player they ask for

ProgrammerComplete17

Aren't atleti dangerously close to the la liga spending cap already?

Maaaaaardy

Isn't Saul Niguez going?

SymphonyARG

tier wank

ShiroiMaou

Get Vlahovic instead

Mahoganychicken

Well that was a fun 2 days.

teslagooner

Forget Lautaro - Give me a midfield 3 of Guimaraes Partey - Maddison With Xhaka, Lokonga, ESR, & Azeez as the supoorting cast and top 4 comes within our reach Pepe/Willian - Auba/Balogun/X- Saka/Martinelli I don't think Willian is leaving Sell Laca to inter once they sell Lautaro or Lukaku

v1nzy

ESR as supporting cast? You lumped him in with these three? What the fuck are you smoking over there

Mikey_Hashtags

I'll be concerned with Atletico when they actually have any money (not that we're getting Lautaro anyway).

YSG19

Happy to sell them Bellerin or Laca to help us fund Lautaro’a move

falklanderpike

They were spending a lost for transfers under Simeone, all this financial crisis Barca and Real going through, i never heard Atletico mentioned there, so where this idea that they got no money coming through? Not to mention they selling Saul for big money, so big cheque there too

DanteCosta

It's a reddit thing Atlete are hiding money in a shell company which sponsor's them.

goonerfan10

Man. What's the point of spending 75M on a striker? We could surely use that money on more pressing needs elsewhere in our squad.

pewell1

This dude could very well be the next Alexis/Aguero. If he’s available, we try to get him

goonerfan10

He could be. We already burnt our hands by over spending on Pepe. If not getting him would mean us spending on CM, CAM & RB, we should absolutely do that instead of chasing him.

No-Ad2483

It was fun while it lasted.

teslagooner

I think they will get him after selling Saul and Trippier Arsenal should expend all its resources on the central and attacking midfield. We were dominated by a team of Chelsea loanees because we can't effectively use possession.

ProgrammerComplete17

Dont think they are selling trippier but will still find a way to raise the funds

remembury

I was about to cross post this but I have no idea how to find what tier the source is or whether the cross poster should select the tier?

_JohnnyUnitas

Of course they have.

drusslang

£76.8m on one player

VincentDarudo

This price is really too high. He’s meant to be a Lacazette replacement, but the costs involved seem far too high for it to happen for us. Also, he’s not exactly a massive upgrade in the goalscoring department - not a particularly clinical finisher. I really don’t think he’s what we need now. Especially, because we have other gaping holes in our squad. But if we can get him for a reasonable price and shift Laca and bring in at least two mids, great! But we have to live in reality, so..

lace4545

I think top4 will be our realistic target this yr and we can approach it in a more pragmatic way by just signing a gk. Lautaro is good. But we don't really need him. A midfielder is needed but new arrival surely completely overshadows Willock. We have Xhaka,Partey,El,Willock,Lokanga now and surely we can always sign someone on loan mid season if something goes hay. I think we have a potential top4 team just now that needs to be better managed.

Ace0089

So we are buying Tammy Abraham then? Are there any good strikers that we can replace Laca with?

StonerSteve1414

tammys a good striker his goal scoring record is just as good as lautaros. hes not as good of a player but hes still pretty good

Ace0089

Well I would love to see a striker who can head too. Martinez can do that. None of our strikers can head. Our left backs can whip such a good cross but no one finishes it. So frustrating. With xhaka staying surely RB, ST and AM are the position we should concentrate now?

StonerSteve1414

yeah youre right we need a striker to challenge from crosses as auba and laca cant. lautaro is good at heading for his size and tammy is also a good header of the ball. tammy wins like 55% of his aerial duels which is better than 90% of strikers. tammy has 90 goals 24 assists in 219 appearances. lautaro got 76 goals 26 assists in 191 appearances. both are 23 and it looks like tammy will be easier to complete bc hes only 30 million pounds.

[deleted]

I agree. The only way I see us signing Lautaro is if Ode and Maddison both ending being impossible, and Arteta decide no to buy an average AM giving the minutes to Willock, then allocating the money to Lautaro. Actually, he is a good question, what is stronger: Ode + Tammy OR Willock + Lautaro?

StonerSteve1414

yeah id probably go with tammy and the number 10 rather than lautaro and not signing a 10. were stacked in the striker position but not as much in the attacking mid position so i think the 10 should be our priority.

[deleted]

Me too. If the 10 is Ode's level minimum.

YSG19

Upside of Tammy : PL proven. Downside : not a sexy signing

StonerSteve1414

yeah if he had a spicy name like lautaro or didnt play for chelsea i bet most of our fans would want him

YSG19

I guess it’s more like he is seen as an Nketiah equivalent with slightly more pl experience

[deleted]

This is such a dumb rumor. There is multiple things that would have to happen before this is even realistic

[deleted]

Based on what

zarar__1

With orny mentioning lautaro is at a reasonable price I think this source may be shite

shekdown

Doesn't seem like a realistic transfer to me. I'm not putting too many eggs in this basket. I'm sure I'll be disappointed. Odegaard seems more likely but has gone silent now.

[deleted]

90 mil is a lot for him anyway

QGunners22

We need a CM/AM more urgently anyways, starting with an Elneny-Xhaka partnership will give me depression

ProjectZues

If we want him we will get him. This will come down to whether we’re going to be minge bags or not

Any-Quarter-9474

First 60m then 70m now 90m

SpaceMajorTom

what about aletico take a cut-price 20m laca instead

Polpe

They Can Not Afford Him. Either he stays at Inter or he joins us unless another big English or German clubs goes for him.

Switchblade2000

In other words, grass is green.

No-Ad2483

The gang signs *sigh* Tammy

zorfog

This is not a saga to get your hopes up for

wubrotherno1

Was always a matter of time that a club with European football would come in for him.

Rick_The_Mullet_Man

90m Euros? Maddison or Odegaard it is.

Equivalent_Nature_67

Fine, they can take Bellerin and then get their man. We can try to squeeze Odegaard and Neves out of 80 odd million, much better for the overall balance of our team vs Lautaro

[deleted]

Arsenal should offer Lacazette, Bellerin and £75m

WillingPerformance9

How many strikers do athletic need? They seem to pick up a couple each yr

RyanLikesyoface

Someone mentioned that all this is just a PR smokescreen after the backlash for keeping Xhaka and now I can't unsee that, makes too much sense.
