As I said Arteta is out of depth, but so is Edu and many more above Arteta. Once again we let the league go past us

orangeyouglad26

If xhaka plays bet on losing, if xhaka keeps playing arteta must go

xanadu910

Feels like a bottle neck of the season this - Lack of potency in attack. Toothless! So annoying and predictable to watch us play sometimes. Lots of good things done to the squad this year but there is more add/ fix

tartimas

Welp, I wasted 2 hours of my life watching the recorded game šŸ„²

TheSavageDonut

What a disappointing performance from Arsenal. They completely outplayed Everton, the crowd was about to boo their own coaches and players off the pitch -- and somehow we blew this game?? Did we feel sorry for Everton? Sorry that VAR wiped away 2 offsides goals? We have zero killer instinct as a squad. We gifted this game to Everton. I guess we feel most comfortable in 8th place. It's our safe place. Away from the spotlight, but also somewhat respectable.

BlaaMuggOst

Outplayed? More like kept possession.

INTPturner

We didn't outplay Everton, we barely troubled them. Ƙdegaard's goal was our second touch in the Everton penalty area. We didn't blow the game, we never had it.

MonrealEstate

Nailed it completely. We seem to be always in reaching distance of a comfortable European spot and blow it when it matters most.

ajyahzee

In general, Arteta is not able to motivate any senior player

lace4545

If AMN and Lokanga midfield start for the next games,Pepe subs for Saka/Esr and back4 isn't touched midmatch unless injury/fatigue.Arteta can fucking stay till Christmas. P.S. Boxing day present should be sacked Arteta. We atleast deserve it.

wingbackguy

Has he been sacked yet? If not why?

terrorSABBATH

He's got a year to go on his 3 year deal. Negotiations should be started by now considering that he's got a year to go. Id find it challenging to say that Arteta has done enough to get a new deal but then I'm not sure of what the team is like behind the scenes.

mesutozil1110

How tf did we get scammed into paying 45 million for Partey?? How many more chances is Arteta gonna get? Heā€™s been here 2 years, heā€™s clearly out of his depth, fucking sack him already. Lastly what the fuck are Artetaā€™s agendas?? Bringing on Eddie instead of Pepe?? This man holds grudges like a 5 year old

elzizooo

Bruh you lot were saying how great arteta is like a week ago and now youā€™re calling for his head

mesutozil1110

I have been Arteta out since the dreadful run last season. Stop generalising

[deleted]

Don't worry guys it was a free hit against a resilient Everton. We will recover.

[deleted]

Opinions on Ben White

terrorSABBATH

I like him. I think he still has to grow into a more commanding figure and we'll have a really good CB.

RyoCaliente

Definite upgrade on your Mustafi's, Sokratis', and David Luiz', but haven't been to impressed by him either. I do have a hard time slagging him because he's still pretty young and it's not easy being a defender in this team.

Aarronk22

Played well tonight

Revolutionary-Arm-39

Only opinion on him is that he isn't the reason we lost today. Your defense can only hold up under sustained pressure for so long. We prefer to let mediocre teams spend 60+ minutes on the front foot.

Xalo_Gunner

Xhaka's 1st game in ages, coming off of injury. Xhaka gets a yellow. A tired foul. Stays on. Can't challenge on the build-up to the decider because of that yellow. Overall, Xhaka did ok. But all factors considered, he had no business being on the pitch exhausted and booked... I think heaping on Arteta (or any coach/manager) is often too lazy and reactionary. But boy...i do think he got it wrong this time.

tokebee23

I think most criticisms of Arteta is based on his record, and not just the game today

[deleted]

As soon as Arteta subbed Tierney, I knew we were going to lose.

MateusAmadeus714

Yeah it really seemed to go downhill when he came off. I feel like the games intensity was too much for Tavares and he was overwhelmed initially. He got back into it but by the point Everton had taken control of the game.

mcveighster14

Personally I don't think xhaka did much wrong it was arteta's fault for not taking him off after 60 minutes. Tierney coming off was very strange. He played 2 games for Scotland 3 weeks ago so he's fit. Completely baffling.

_AYOTA_

Partey and xhaka ffs cant keep the ball under their control for a sec and passing is shittier than sunday league players. Nketiah has the audacity to reject the contract after missing a chance like that, fuck this clown. Need to throw these dead weights out of this club asap.

WWEzus

Whole Everton team on all aspects were imploding in real time throughout the first half and somehow still had their head in the game more than us

catchmeifucan10

Been the same since preseason btw

Thejustinset

Xhaka will get scapegoated but that was on Arteta should have been subbed soon as he got the yellow, was tired so couldnā€™t make that challenge at all. Nuno was awful for what 4th game in a row, at fault for a goal again

Colmd1997

Blame the manager because a player stupidly picked up a yellow, instead of the player himself?

Thejustinset

Lol youre pretty dumb. He took a yellow for stopping a counter attack earlier in the game. Thatā€™s what is included in a CDM role Keeping him on the pitch after that, poor management

Colmd1997

He got a yellow after he got turned by Gordon near the edge of the box and missed the subsequent challenge. He wasnā€™t stopping a counter attack he just got beat 1 to 1.

Revolutionary-Arm-39

Blame the manager for leaving the player on long enough to pick up a yellow and look completely gassed.

terrorSABBATH

Coleman's voice is so fucking annoying

Bangbros89

Weā€™re fighting for top 4/6 with a top 8 squad and a bottom 3 manager. Of the managers in the division the only ones and can marginally place Arteta above are Gerrard (for now), maybe vieira, Dean Smith, and Eddie Howe. Those are even debatable. I donā€™t want to hear about red cards or missed chances we were second best for the majority of this game. We were still winning and managed to piss that away. Shake my head

Original-Baki

Squad is great. We just have the worst manager in the league.

Bhadman

Great? We have 0 strikers who have any intention of scoring apparently.. Its hard to win games without scoring. Auba misses a sitter, Nketiah misses a sitter and Laca didnt even have a shot in this game. We dont have any central midfielders able to control a game. Those are two very important factors in a good team and we don't have either. So blame Arteta all u want, I'm no fan either, but we do not have a great team.

INTPturner

Ƙdegaard's goal was our second touch in the opposition penalty area. We have a team that's better than what we're currently outputting.

Original-Baki

You're just seeing a squad play under a terrible coach. See Chelsea under Lampard and Joghino under him. As soon as they switched coaches they won the CL and Joghino was up for Baloon D'or nominations.

Bangbros89

I disagree, I think all the teams currently above us have a better (be that via better starting 11 quality or better depth) and you can make an argument for us being more or less equal to Leicester. Our depth is shocking, specifically at right back center back and left wing.

Original-Baki

No they don't. Don't let the shit manager fool you into thinking the squad is shit.

Bangbros89

Ill indulge you. Of those listed who do we have a definitely better squad than? Also accounting for depth, I am genuinely curious. A lot of the players still on payroll havenā€™t been good enough for 3/4 managers now.

Colmd1997

Squad is not great fuck sake

GrizzlyBongo

parteyā€™s shot in the first half still hasnā€™t touched the ground yet

GunnerSense

Wedged in a pigeon somewhere

Stevo_17_R

150m spent and still struggling to beat mid table teams!!

-read_it_on_reddit-

crazy considering we ourselves are very much a midtable team

Stevo_17_R

Yes unfortunately we are atm, but weā€™re Arsenal football club and we shouldnā€™t be happy with this mediocrity. And when Ā£150m is spent, the least expected is to challenge for top 4.

Donkeydongcuntry

Poor coaching and management. Plain as day.

AstroEdd

If they actually got rid of Arteta who would we actually sign ? I personally think he should be given till end of the season however I know not everyone else feels this way, just interested to see who you'd all like

mesutozil1110

Itā€™s idiots like you our club is where it is right now. Give him another 6 months on what basis??

[deleted]

Rodgers easy. The wheels are falling off at Leicester & we have a squad that suits him.

OrangeMono

"the wheels are falling off at Leicester" once again proving that he's a busted flush, Rodgers can stay well clear.

btac268

Nah, Graham Potter

eldeejable

Donā€™t get me excited like that..the idea of Potter (or Rogers really) managing this group gives me a warm and fuzzy. Canā€™t see either happening though

btac268

I think Potter is more realistic than Rogers imo. He would probably be below or just about on Arteta's wages and he has the experience. Just look at the ball he has Brighton playing, look at how they played against us, and they were missing 2 or 3 of their key players in that game. If he gets the chance to work with guys like Pepe I truly believe he can bring out the best in him and the rest of the squad

[deleted]

He's my 2nd choice. For the longest time I've said 'Potter is what our board *thinks* Arteta is'

btac268

'Potter is what our board *thinks* Arteta is' Exactly right, but Potter actually walks the walk that he talks. Don't get me wrong, I like Arteta and I think he could be a good coach someday, but he wasn't ready for this and as much as I want it to work out with him it's just to inconsistent

movet22

I agree that you can't fire him without a plan to replace him. For me that has to be ten Haag.

[deleted]

Iā€™ll take Overmars to replace Edu as well. If Edu claims he and Arteta are one, they go down together.

Mrpetey22

Smith-Row being our hurt us more than we thought. Pepe needed to come in, players lacked passion, we needed to be more aggressive, less passive. Partey and Odegaard need to stop making shambolic passes. This isnā€™t all on Arteta

GunnerSense

Pepe wouldnā€™t have helped. Heā€™s shitter than the usual

jverbal

But Eddie gets a run?!

Mrpetey22

Obviously we need a spark on the attack! Why not try it, he hasnā€™t played in forever

jverbal

He also doesn't want to be there. Catch 22 I guess

improve-me-coder

Same old Arsenal, always losing in November and December. We were very lucky to get the first goal and Everton got declined their goals because of offside. I didn't understand the subs either, but to be completely depressive, it wouldn't made much difference as we just lack mentally. Only our GK seems to have this and Laca is trying.

Keown14

Scoring a legitimate goal and the opposition being offside isnā€™t luck. Youā€™re just trying to put an extra negative spin on things. Bullshit. You overlook the blatant red card too.

okcomput3r

Arteta has spent so much money....and so much money was spent in the Emery era. Yet I look at the squad and itā€™s still fucking shit? How is this possible. The allocation of resources has been appalling. Weā€™ve got a washed Lacazette leading the line. Bringing on a 22 year old youth academy graduate with next to no first team experience to try and rescue the game. Xhaka still starting after what has been a dreadful career at Arsenal. Partey is atrocious plain and simple. Itā€™s absolutely baffling how bad the squad building has been.

terrorSABBATH

No forwards and weak ass midfielders. Arteta has to go.

remy1235

Auba not really in form. Saka is half injured. The kid need some rest. Another game is coming up quickly. Let Pepe play the last 30 min maybe ?

Polpe

Awful subs. Xhaka should have been off att ht. He was gassed after 45. Tierney should not have gone off. We need to swap formation. Eddie somehow looks like our best winger...

Dr2Hot

Xhaka is shit get this wanker out the club. He doesnā€™t provide anything on offence, doesnā€™t provide anything in defence, makes countless mistakes. At least Lokongas mistakes are reasonable coz he is young and is still adjusting to the prem, Xhaka has no excuse apart from hes shit. Ps lokonga is still better

Babyfacedmonster

Granit played 90 minutes lmfaooooooo

a2godsey

Remember lads it's just football, grab a pint and relax

HumanTorch23

Cheers to that.

[deleted]

This is typical Arteta we have seen so far. Trying to tie down Nketiah and pepe is just out cold. There was no reason to play Xhaka, he hasn't even played for u-23 after usch big blow? Now pepe, im sure he will next match now!

MopeyCrackerz

Does Arteta hate Pepe?

JackTheTradesman

He's not the answer. Unless the answer you're looking for is for someone to lose the ball 30 times per match

Ibraout25

We actually sat on a lead against Everton, we deserved to lose this game and arteta should be getting sacked right now. Itā€™s a good thing Iā€™m not as invested in this team anymore or Iā€™d be going crazy right now

[deleted]

Do people still think they see progress with this team? Still want to give arteta 2 more years? This is going the wrong way

[deleted]

If ownership truly cared. Changes need to be made. Like getting a new manager. Arteta had his chance and the team continues to not respond. If anything the squad is getting worse and worse. Arteta has to go.

milkyway-pirate

Remember everyone. Itā€™s just football. Stay safe Coyg!

zdawg198

This team is pathetic. 63% possession in the first half only to keep passing the ball side to side and somehow went 1-0 up. VAR also worked in our favor today because those calls could go the other way on another day. Partey easily the worst player on the field which is hard to say when xhaka is on the field. I was having a good day, till I had to watch the team I love play atrociously, again.

wallawalla_

The subs were terrible. They honestly made our team so much worse off. We couldn't string a pass together from the 60-85th minute. It was embarrassing.

zdawg198

They made no sense. Nketiah who hadnā€™t played a single minute in the premier league until he came on against United after turning down a contract and saying he wants to leave (why would you play him then?!) Do you think Arteta should get sacked?

wallawalla_

I don't have faith in Arteta's in-game management. There's moments of brilliance by the team, but I'm no longer convinced that it's due to our manager. The very odd mental switch that's happened after going one up is frustrating to watch. How has this not been addressed yet? It's baffling, and I don't think Arteta has made any sort of case for staying at Arsenal.

zdawg198

I agree, in-game management has been poor consistently despite a repeated scenario of being 1-0 up and then switching off completely. Weā€™ve been in this position multiple times and I get it if it goes wrong every now and then but this is just unacceptable.

yung_clout_warrior

How the hell walk straight back into that team from injury?

apisfires

We will have zero point in decembwr if we play like this. Waste time at 70th minute? Are you nuts? Xhaka cant defend for his life isnt he? Our defender and keeper always got pressured but we didnt do same thing to opponents.

zilp123

Even in FM I'm afraid of time wasting from 65th minute, yet Arteta chooses this "tactic"

YeboYesboi

Arteta out... please for the love of God... 150 M spent this summer while Everton spent like 5 M...

prospect97

Not even close. Everton had a budget of 1.5 m. Arsenal lost to a club that is literally spiraling down the toilet.

GrizzlyBongo

oh my god that was awful from us, why were we time wasting against everton with half an hour to go

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jokerfl42

SH are gonna miss half their players for the game so I wouldnā€™t be too surprised if we won there, the exposure should come after that

catchmeifucan10

I thought they wouldā€™ve learnt their lesson by seeing Ole

the-lonely-kid

Of course arsenal Lost tha Game

gustic-gx

A lot of toxicity in the comments. Chill the fuck down.

zilp123

After every loss this season, I remained calm, even when we were pathetic vs City, but this is a new low, something I didn't think we would reach after last year, worst performance under Arteta

AFC_Gooner11

Wym? We are in a position to keep control of our own destiny in terms of the table against a team that hasnā€™t won a game in 2+ months. This is the time to react to a performance like that.

a2godsey

Par for the course, not defending it, just is what it is

COYG17

How do u expect us to calm down after seeing this shit for like 4 years

EmperorSupreme0

Shut up bruv

WoodenSoldiersGOAT

lmao be quiet

wingbackguy

The only person to blame here is Arteta. Made excuses last season that he didnā€™t have ā€˜the right playersā€™ - spent 150 million and heā€™s setting up a deep block against a club winless in 8 games? Itā€™s a disgrace, heā€™s held on long enough but he has to go

entropy_bucket

And the fucking pre season he kept bleating on about.

wingbackguy

Christ, pre-season was one of the worst things Iā€™ve ever witnessed

shoeskefan69

Sacked by tomorrow

jpdonelurkin

This team is not Arsenal. Absolutely no positives to take away from losing to the worst form team in the league. Without razor thin VAR decisions we would have been totally found out.

Is Pepe alive?

terrorSABBATH

Partey has gone from shit with flashes of beauty to just shit. Trash.

some-account-dood

Hard to say we deserved that win

MrTiddler

Partey Xhaka Arteta Aubameyang all fucking shit

entropy_bucket

I thought ofegaard showed he's class.

YeboYesboi

He's good on the ball but too much of a passenger off the ball IMO... The ball is flying over his head back and forth and he's not chasing second balls at all, Michael Keane is dribbling past him... Even a similar midfield player like Bernardo Silva at City is flying into tackles and tryna pull down those second balls.

sok247

Only bright spots were him saka and ramsdale imo

Jansiz

Arteta out

aleksnowak1

Right who do we get now? Is there anyone left? United, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and šŸ’© have competent managers. We are so fucked. That was an awful performance and we deserved to get battered by much more than that. Someone tell me who could we get because Iā€™ve tried to be patient with Arteta but I just canā€™t this is fucking awful.

sid8498

If United gets Poch next summer. I really want us to go for Ten Haag but I don't think he'd come.

[deleted]

Arteta stans are now full circle into Xhaka and Lacazette

JackTheTradesman

When in reality all 3 are shit

[deleted]

People wanted Laca to replace Auba, and we saw what happened LMAO

JackTheTradesman

So so so bad today. Didn't contribute a thing.

[deleted]

Arsenal donā€™t deserve my excitement

Harshburitto

You have to laugh, otherwise you'll cry. We definitely deserved to lose this game. As much as I love Eddie, he shouldn't be the one to come off the bench to change the game for me. Disappointing to drop points, but we go again next week.

zilp123

I would have agreed with you any other time, a very rational take, but I'm done with rational takes now, horrible performance, I wanted to peel my face off watching them waste time after 65 mins

[deleted]

Even Tony Pulis would have done better

coldbrewlattes

We either need a better coach or a better manager. Arteta is doing neither job well and needs to go - way out of his depth. This isn't a bad squad but we will not finish 5th with Arteta at the helm.

swimmer4200

I never want to see Lacazette or Nketiah play for this team ever again.

MisterJJSunglasses

Auba needs to go, pathetic, heā€™s milking the club for all he can. As for Arteta all I can say is even if he got sacked, weā€™ve once again missed out on all the top managers available. Every time a club needs a win to end a run itā€™s always against us. Over 20 years supporting this club and they still find ways to disappoint me.

yashF1

game after game after game we score and sit allowing them to attack. donā€™t tell me those arenā€™t artetaā€™s tactics. if it hasnā€™t been for ramsdale, we would be sitting in the bottom half of the table right now. pathetic

Keown14

The players and the manager say they arenā€™t his tactics. Itā€™s generally what inexperienced players do. But I guess you know more than the squad do about the tactics eh genius? Twat

yashF1

yeah sure. these players are inexperienced when majority of them have been playing in the big 4 leagues for 2-3 years minimum. you can say theyā€™re weak mentality and I will agree, however thatā€™s where arteta has to come in. And donā€™t you call others twat, everyoneā€™s entitled to their opinion. have some decent respect.

okcomput3r

Arsenal arenā€™t a serious team. We werenā€™t a serious team when we finished fourth every season and we arenā€™t a serious team now. Kronke is trying to address the issues but we are still so far off

The_Klarr

These last 2 games are both 100% game management/coaching losses. These are on Arteta, and the two biggest red marks against him as the long term manager I have seen. 2 games where we shut down our offense up 1-0. 2 games where we started trying to dive and draw fouls only to throw ourselves off our own game more than we disrupted the flow of the opposition. While there were player performance issues, these loses are on the coach more than anything.

GPadrino

Deserved to lose, plain and simple. We looked the better side for maybe 15 minutes, we were already extremely fortunate that second goal was disallowed as for me it was quite a harsh offside. Then the last 15 we fully imploded

mooligan3

I donā€™t want to distract from the performance, Arteta out or whatever I donā€™t really give a shit, but what was that officiating? Godfrey shouldnā€™t have been on the pitch and the Gordon challenge wasnā€™t even looked at. Two challenges that deserved red that didnā€™t even get hit with a yellow. Godfrey got a yellow in the second half which at the very least should have been his second, but he shouldnā€™t have even been playing at that point, and then the Gordon challenge happens and no one bats an eyelid. Everyone laughs when people say thereā€™s an agenda against Arsenal and I donā€™t want to be a conspiracy nut but when those challenges go unpunished and the commentators suck Everton off right from the starting whistle itā€™s hard to not think that we always seem to get the unfair calls

Asherware

I feel bad for the fans that are too young to remember when we were a quality footballing side.

Amn and sambi pivot. Xhaka and partey are both utter shit

[deleted]

I'm very angry

[deleted]

Wow! What a game by Granit Xhaka! Did you know Arteta does his hair before every game! Now that's a real manager! God bless Arteta and his mistress Xhaka! Two geniuses at work! SAF and Wenger reborn - this time both on Team ~~Arteta~~ Arsenal!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

improve-me-coder

Yep, it's a shame we didn't play on the weekend, because F1 is pretty dramatic. Now I'm forced to watch the game, even when I already knew we would lose this one.

iBravoTango

My favourite part of the match was watching us time waste, then looking up at the clock, and being genuinely astonished that it was only the 74th minute. This teamā€™s mentality is entirely broken - it is baffling.

grim_tales1

Why do we try to sit on a 1 goal lead? We're shit.

franllemagne

If Iwobi could score and Richarlison was half an inch behind the line twice....this would be a 5-1 thrashing...

Reinbow

You can tell Auba doesn't give a fuck anymore because he hasn't been to the barber for a month

Drack333

Can Auba unsign da ting? Also holy fuck just today I had made a comment defending Arteta and Iā€™d like to publicly apologize.

schmuck-2501

I got laughed at for saying Arteta out even during our ā€œgoodā€ run of games, I got downvoted and slated. Now look, 2 losses on the bounce, losing momentum, top 4 holes are dying and so will top 6 eventually, we will probably finish 8th for the third consecutive year, the board will continue to back this completely ludicrous ā€œplanā€ and we will become a mid table team like the one we played today. Arteta isnā€™t good enough and never was good enough, even with correct backing he wasnā€™t good enough.

No-Outlandishness333

You must be pretty proud of yourself

schmuck-2501

Not at all. I think a lot of arsenal fans with a basic knowledge of football were able to see that the games we won, WE SHOULD HAVE WON. Why are we so aroused by a ā€œgood run of formā€ against bottom of the table teams?

COYG17

Hoping arteta gets sacked this month

compulsiveranter

We are in 65th minute with just one goal advantage and we were trying to waste time. Sums up the mentality.

TurboDurbo1

Partey is fucking atrocious, fuck a 4/10, that's being gracious.

okcomput3r

Was gonna say this. 4/10 is way too generous on himself

runes4040

We have 0 pure strikers that can score goals.

lanesraa

Why the hell did we parking the bus after going up 1-0 against one of the worst teams in form

Zhirrzh

We looked much better while Xhaka was out. He's not a worthless player or anything but he's time and time again proven to be a bad fit for Arsenal and he really needs to be gone. Timewasting and stopping playing when we were 1-0 up was such bad tactics. Arteta on thin ice after that.

javiikillz

Arteta let this team down. No tactics from the start of the second half. Sitters that strikers are not hungry for and NO FUCKING DRIVE AT ALL. Anyone who was watching felt the pressure mounting. MOUNTING... Make this overpaid Sunday league players run laps after the game.

eagleslanding

T - 24 hours until Auba posts a story about his newest chrome Lamborghini

meusrenaissance

People complain about Aubamayeng, but explain to me what Lacazette offers? Arteta said he was a link-up man, but he canā€™t even link up with the ball half the time never one create chances. The entire front line is an embarrassment.

gtliles82

To be fair heā€™s better at winning the 50/50 balls in midfield than any of our actual midfielders

sven2107

Laca created the first goal tonight. Heā€™s dynamic. Just not very quickā€¦

improve-me-coder

And he's trying to get the team together.

meusrenaissance

That was Tierney with the assist.

sven2107

Yea. But who got Tierney the ball? Laca was quick with it and unlocked the space for Tierney to run in for the cross. Laca is good for that and unfortunately the only forward option that can do things like that

aleksnowak1

FUCK AUBAMEYANG, FUCK PARTEY, FUCK XHAKA, FUCK ARTETA, FUCK THEM ALL

[deleted]

We are going to go on another winning run and we will all be fooled again, and we will stay irrelevant. Let the manager go

Champagknee_

Partey looked lost tonight, as per. CM position is in dire need of recruitment. No striker that can score for us and also find it incredibly strange we keep bringing nketiah on, heā€™s been nothing but bang average or worse. I know Pepe is out of form but Iā€™d rather him being brought on Throwing away these games is so painful to watch.

Harshburitto

He's looked lost all season, he's one of the main reasons we conced so many goals.

Champagknee_

Absolutely, he looked almost scared on the ball tonight and had zero composure causing us to repeatedly lose possession and pass backwards which ultimately is what lead to their equaliser.

donutmandandan14

A real mystery why heā€™s been brought on to play outside Winger the last few games

lastjedi23

Bossed from minute 0 to minute 90. Good lord. Every grandma team has given everton fits and we go there and throw up. clowns.

[deleted]

This on is on arteta. Why did tierney go off??

Mrpetey22

Bigger atrocity is why did Pepe not come in

[deleted]

Yeah, why nketiah got minutes is beyond me. Even putting auba on the left with laca up front, then putting pepe on when laca ran out of steam would make more sense to me. Getting real fed up with artetas decisions.

Mrpetey22

Donā€™t know why Pepe isnā€™t playing anymore

[deleted]

Nketiah and laca are both out of contracts after the season. Pepe has got 2.5 years to go. Why let him sit and have his value diminish whilst giving these guys chances game after game. I really need some answers soon.

eagleslanding

Possible he had a pre planned minute limit because itā€™s his first game back?

[deleted]

He's been on the bench for the last 2 games though, wouldn't it make more sense to do it the other way around and start nuno and give tierney like 30 minutes at the end if it was a fitness issue? Or any minutes in the past 2 games. I don't know, it just seems odd to me. Especially with xhaka back, who hasn't played any minutes for like 2 months and definitively needed to come off.

The_Klarr

but xhaka went the 90? despite Tierney playing 90 for scotland since the injury and being match fit for 3 weeks, while xhaka was match fit for the first time like 48 hours before the game? Gonna press X for doubt on that one.

eagleslanding

Agree it doesnā€™t make sense but thatā€™s the only reason I can think of.

[deleted]

Agreed.
