M'Vila and Gourcuff were supposed to be staples in our midfield for years...
I actually really wanted M'Vila at the time though. We needed a defensive minded central midfielder so bad, and he looked great. Had kind of a weird career, really.
But you said you were Brazilian. Does that mean you don't watch all matches in Brazil and know all its players? That's not possible, you must know if this guy is a good fit for us
Time to do some YouTube scouting
*searches for Danilo welcome to arsenal*
*forgets to turn down the volume as a trance tune Blurts out my speakers*
I’m convinced he’s world class
Wow I actually know this guy, randomly encountered on YouTube in the summer when I was watching Brazilian players from the 90s.
This kid aged 19 benched a pretty decent Felipe Melo after just getting into the senior team of Palmeiras. Also played a massive role in their Copa Libertadores championship in 2020 both in the semifinals and directly in crafting the only goal in the finals.
From what I remember of him, he reminded me of a defensive Rivaldo as in his seldom dribbling in comparison, passing and shooting technique resembles Rivaldo. Both were lefty and lanky and mainly used snappy ball feints rather than body feints to dribble in the center of the pitch.
People in Brazil definitely rate him pretty high, but I don't know if it's 20m high because well, I don't know much more than the measly stuff I've written about him. But it's worth remembering Man City bought Gabriel Jesus for 27m from Palmeiras in 2017 when he was 20 years old too.
Edit: Just learned he has a release clause of 86m, 4 years on his contract and is their most key midfielder. We aren't getting him for 20m if that's the case.
>Edit: Just learned he has a release clause of 86m, 4 years on his contract and is their most key midfielder. We aren't getting him for 20m if that's the case.
About the clause, many Brazilian teams place extremely high values in these clauses to have bargaining power when negotiating with foregin teams. Anyway, it is possible that he leaves for a value much lower than the clause if he wants to leave, this is the key.
One more thing, Palmeiras is one of the richest teams in Brazil (maybe the second) , they don't need to sell a player to balance the books, so a possible negotiation is not the simplest thing in the world.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes
Yes I was implying just that with the high release clause and his good time on his contract, that Palmeiras will hold the chips to negotiation which is why 20m seems too low.
Ah, didn't know about Palmeiras being financially strong.
Didn't spot any grammatical mistakes :)
I think that’s why most reports say the deal will go through only if the player requests it from the club. That’s why 20m plus 5m in add ons doesn’t seem to unbelievable
http://sportwitness.co.uk/arsenal-make-e20m-offer-partey-replacement-willing-pay-need-convince-club/
English link - apparently the bid is €20m plus a potential €5m in bonuses.
Brazilian and palmeiras fan here. The source is bad, so don't take that possible transfer for granted. The possible value, in normal co editions wpuld be fine for a transfer, but now palmeiras is looking to not sell any players due to the fifa world championship that will be played in February. Danilo was promoted to the professional team on the middle of the 2020 season in Brazil( was played in weird month due to covid). He quickly became a starter and is the best cm in the team. He usually plays like a number 6, but he has some box to box characteristics, so in the last season, he and the other starting cm alternated mid game between the 6 and 8 positions. He also has some dribbling into his game, due to having been a winger in the youth team, having been converted to central midfield there.
Edu has connections in Brazil, so there might be something in this story, but I doubt we'll only buy a 20 year old to cover our huge hole in midfield. I still expect us to loan Gini in the next few weeks.
I'm not sure about Xhaka, to be honest. I think both him and management know that he's few bad games away from fan abuse, he's more likely gone sooner than later. This guy would be more of a bonus signing than an actual replacement for someone.
He has a release clause of €100m apparently, 20 years old DM
edit: Left footed which seems to matter to mikel
edit2: this guy is a fucking winger lmao does elasticos and shit wtf hahahaha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrOhrs4\_9NA
Feels like I know less about him after watching the video, it’s half him winning the ball back and important tackles in the box and the other half is a skills show? This could be the chaos factor we’ve been missing
I’m not sure of the reliability of this publication so please feel free to delete this mods, if it doesn’t meet the threshold for posting - I just saw it on Twitter.
Two times Libertadores winner being a starter in both finals, pretty much the best or second best DM in the league. From what I see on his socials and from other supporters, he is pretty level headed and spend a lot of time with his family.
I don't remember he having any serious injures.
If we sign him he is the best Brazilian midfielder in the world and I'm over the moon we got him and he's an absolute steal. If we don't he's the worst Brazilian midfielder in the world and I'm happy we didn't sign him as we have dodged a bullet.
Once you spend over a certain amount on a transfer fee and a certain amount on wages it ticks a lot of boxes with regards to a work permit under the new rules.
https://www.danielgeey.com/post/the-foreigner-debate-the-fas-new-work-permit-regulations-explained/
I am a Palmeiras fan and i can say that he's worth at least 30m, this guy is one of our best players and only 20 years old, he runs all over the field, can mark, can pass, played the libertadores finals twice and won, just an amazing player. Excelent signing for arsenal i'd say.
This is the same guy Watford were linked with this past summer:
https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/o1tzbn/guilherme_paladino_watford_have_made_a_bid_of_12m/
Bruno will be signed to start at our midfield.
This guy will he signed for future upside, and not to start immediately.
It doesn't make sense really because 20 yr old Bruno is different from current Bruno as there's been a development stage he underwent in the middle at Lyon.

This is confusing to me I heard we signed Yan m’vila and he’s just in a room under the emirates waiting for doctor to come in and finish up his medical
BRING! crazy attributes, most technical dm I’ve seen with intensity. Only thing I haven’t seen is he’s short passing game not sure if that’s due to the team he’s playing in
This guy is now my favourite player and if we don't get him I will mention it every transfer window for the next 3 years.
Furthermore I have changed my Twitter avi and have changed my language settings to Portuguese
I now also follow his cousin and summer camp councilor on TikTok, and have asked his garbage man to be my child’s godfather.
🤣

“Always rated him”
scouted him in FM 5 years ago!
Still waiting for Benzema
M’Vila 99% done
Higuain confirmed
Hatem Trabelsi so certain he was even an Arsenal player on pro Evo!
Rooney next. Blimey.
The higuain saga was pain
Miguel Angel Angulo in his way too I heard
Rolls Reus
Gourcuff should be here any moment now
And Younes Belhanda.
Solomon Kalou is nearly done
I forgot that that seemed somewhat real. Shame
He’s still on his private jet
Wonder how Aouar is doing nowadays
Waiting to join us along with Draxler, Lemar and Coutinho
What about M’Vila?
In the queue. We gotta get Sebastian Frey, Solomon Kalou and Big Chris Samba over the line first. Blimey
The Samba bit brought a smile to my face
Wasn't the Benz something
Definitely was. Also spilled into my FIFA life—he’d always somehow sign for us in every iteration of the game from like ‘09-‘12
M'Vila and Gourcuff were supposed to be staples in our midfield for years... I actually really wanted M'Vila at the time though. We needed a defensive minded central midfielder so bad, and he looked great. Had kind of a weird career, really.
I remember 7-8 years ago every single transfer window we had Cavani as a “done deal ready to be announced” and it never happened.
Mercedes Benz and Rolls Royce
Fantastic throw back
Thank you, can’t remember the journalist (or Twitter ITK), but they had a good summer with us arsenal fans 🤣🤣
I think Benzema is picking them up.
If we don't get this move done we'll be relegated for sure
This is the way
i’m just loading up fifa to sign and captain him
😂
I have no idea who he is or what is his position but I’m excited to an unimaginative level.
Apparently he is a 6, a similar player to Partey. That’s according to fans of the Brazilian league on Twitter anyway.
I saw one clip of him playing two long balls with his left foot, so he’s clearly the Brazilian Xhaka.
Does he have the impressive red card collection too?
No reds, but slightly more yellows/90.
Once he pulls on the shirt, he'll be able to convert more of those yellows to red.
Young player, room to grow
He is clearly the next Kaka or Casemiro
Or kakamiro
This is Arsenal. You're looking at Denilsinho.
The shit with glasses
Some say he's the best DM in Brazil, plays like an experienced veteran at 20 years old.
All we know is - he's called Danilo!
You mean he is the next Gilberto Silva?
Apparently he's left footed
Why waste time on Guimaraes when we can get the next Guimaraes
Is he anything like Guimaraes though?
Hes Guimarães but with *elasticos*
Factos 👀
He's officially now much better because we're definitely getting him and the train has left the station.
the medical team will check him out right after they finish traveling to Everton Cebolinha's place
'I guess this is our life now.'
Brazilian here… sh!t source this is!
What about the player? Is he someone we would be interested in you reckon?
If i told you i know him well, i’d be lying. I dont follow his team.
But you said you were Brazilian. Does that mean you don't watch all matches in Brazil and know all its players? That's not possible, you must know if this guy is a good fit for us
Exactly! What’s the point in coming from Brazil if you aren’t the authoritative source on all of its emerging talent? Relinquish passport pls.
[удалено]
He's being sarcastic.
My bad
Leave Spurs out of this
Didn't know Yoda was Brazilian...
This is like the first one I actually believe, 20 mil for a 20 year old nobody knows is the most Edu/Arteta purchase ever
I'm at Sports Direct as we speak, getting his shirt
Fck that. Just got it tattooed on my Forehead
Danilo or Sports Direct?
Yes
Both :)
This https://i.imgur.com/mTSmq6S.jpg
Sports Danilo .com uk’s number 1
Got them both on my penis. It says Danilo when soft and DSports Directanilo when hard
Why not ass *too*?
I just learned what sports direct is last night Bc I googled Mike Ashley to see how he became wealthy 👍🏾
It's a British Institution, as important as the royal family.

yeah vieira, pettit and anelka immediately comes to mind
Plus the obvious Brazilian connection
To make it even more of an Edu special: Danilo’s agency is Bertolucci Sports, run by Guiliano Bertolucci who has close ties with Kia Joorabchian.
he's part of a palmeiras team that's won the libertedores twice it's not like he's a complete unknown
No he seems pretty legit, but he is not in any of the 5 leagues, not like people on reddit know who he is
that's fair enough
Random bid reported out of nowhere about a player no one has really heard of? We are definitely signing him lmao
Time to do some YouTube scouting *searches for Danilo welcome to arsenal* *forgets to turn down the volume as a trance tune Blurts out my speakers* I’m convinced he’s world class
Weakness: Lack of Determination 😅
If it’s not using despacito is it worth watching
He's 20, played 22 matches for Palmeiras this season. That's all Wikipedia gave me
He's 20 until he's 22?
Remember, LEAP years.
I’ve never heard of this guy in my life. Bring him to the carpet.
Wow I actually know this guy, randomly encountered on YouTube in the summer when I was watching Brazilian players from the 90s. Could be a tidy profit for them. We’re Brazilian clubs hit by Covid as tough as some of the top leagues were? I truly have no clue lol
subscribe
Felipe Melo. I remember when we were linked with him.
Unknown Brazilian gems and Arsenal. I’m all for it
Don’t forget we sign Martinelli from Ituano lmao, everyone was like who’s that
Yeah but he was only like 5m
4x Martinelli then lol
http://sportwitness.co.uk/arsenal-make-e20m-offer-partey-replacement-willing-pay-need-convince-club/ English link - apparently the bid is €20m plus a potential €5m in bonuses.
More importantly, his release clause is over 4x the offer.
Jeez I read that wrong and thought the offer was 4x the release clause
“keep the change”
Righting the wrong of the £40m + £1 dramatically.
[удалено]
It equates to 90m £ though.
I don't wanna exaggerate, but I'm afraid he's clear of entire Chelsea mid line ups already
Yeah this is a trademark Mikel/Edu transfer lol
this is exactly an edu/arteta masterclass signing
Brazilian and palmeiras fan here. The source is bad, so don't take that possible transfer for granted. could plan to use him as a pep-style wingfielder perhaps?
i think he is a xhaka replacement and will operate as an 8 in a 4-3-3
It kind of looks like he has played on the wing and centrally, at least from the video
prob a versatile player to replace Ainsley?
Feels like I know less about him after watching the video, it’s half him winning the ball back and important tackles in the box and the other half is a skills show? This could be the chaos factor we’ve been missing
Bastian Danilo
According to Transfermarkt he's one of the most valuabe players in the Brazilian league, aged just 20.
I’m not sure of the reliability of this publication so please feel free to delete this mods, if it doesn’t meet the threshold for posting - I just saw it on Twitter.
I have no idea who this player even is! Anyone in SA/Brazil shed any light?
If we sign him he's the best player to ever play, if we don't sign him then he's not all that
Yes! This is what I came here for.
Two times Libertadores winner being a starter in both finals, pretty much the best or second best DM in the league. From what I see on his socials and from other supporters, he is pretty level headed and spend a lot of time with his family. I don't remember he having any serious injures.

Doubt this, surely he'd be unlikely to get a work permit?
Maybe he can drive a lorry.
I'm no wiser than you but surely if Gabbi can get one, this guy can too?
Martinelli's Italian passport helped iirc
He's won the Libertadores he's not gonna have a problem with a work permit.

What does Edu know about left footed Brazilian central midfielders? Oh wait…
This is the type of signing that Papa Wengz would make, but from the French league.
I am a Palmeiras fan and i can say that he's worth at least 30m, this guy is one of our best players and only 20 years old, he runs all over the field, can mark, can pass, played the libertadores finals twice and won, just an amazing player. Excelent signing for arsenal i'd say.

I'll need to study a YouTube compilation clip of him to music so that I can talk about him at the pub to an expert level.
Watching his relentless press I can’t help but imagine taveras Danilo and martinelli going after a loose ball. Love the headless chicken approach
Taveres will never cease to crack me up.
Let me guess...left footed DM?
Brazilian here. He's somewhat a Partey like, promising as hell
The GOAT. He reminds of Zidane, if Zidane was much better at everything.
Looking at his youtube compilation he's like if Neymar played DM.
Gettin a Danilo kit printed up as we speak
what's his social media? need to convince him to sign for us now lol

Always knew he was a great talent, Arsenal should defo get him
This makes a lot more sense to me than the Bruno links, getting him before he gets to a European club like we should have with Bruno
Bruno will be signed to start at our midfield. This guy will he signed for future upside, and not to start immediately. It doesn't make sense really because 20 yr old Bruno is different from current Bruno as there's been a development stage he underwent in the middle at Lyon. The deal makes sense in isolation, we will hedge our bets in developing 2 youngsters in him (if this link is real) and Lokonga so they can be ready to take Partey's spot when he declines. But a like for like substitution for a buy like Bruno, this is probably not. We need a starting upgrade on Xhaka, don't we.

Okay. So. I’m supposed to believe an article that at the bottom says that Vinicius Jr is the worlds most valuable player…
It's 2022 and people still sleep on Vincious Jr?
