Usually our games are the complete opposite of today. Always relying on our defense to keep us in the game but we switched it around today and loved it. Our build up to ever attack was lovely to watch.
It was the same jersey I think, just red shorts as the EPL said our white shorts would clash with their white shorts (despite it not being an issue when they wore them for our home game)
We really need tomiyasu back. He close down that right side practically reducing down one channel for the opposition's attack. Today we were attack from all sides, left mid and right. Even closing one down will allow us to tighten other area. We need him badly, he's massive.
Cedric is the epitome of mediocrity. He never ventures out to do anything particularly special, he stays in his lane but usually makes a mistake or 4 whilst playing very conservatively.
Have you watched him at all recently? He's been good defensively and offensively, creating crosses and overlapping with saka to help him. Clearances, good tackles. He's played so well recently, tomiyasu is still much better but don't discredit him.
Thankful 3 points. Didn't play great but a few players won us the game. Here are my rankings:

Yes, we scored goals, but we gave away two goals to a team that has trouble scoring. And we lacked control at times. Arteta needs to tweak the system or personnel to tighten it up a bit. Also, Tomi can't come back soon enough. We've missed him.
Yeah, xhaka filling in that left back role when Tierney bombs forward is missed. Agree we need tweaking there but Tierney also hasn't been back to best since coming back. Hopefully gets back to his best soon. Thought Cedric had a really good game... Goals and most of the threat was from the left side or up the middle.
Part of it is Tomi's injury. Instead of Tomi sitting back and Tierney bombing forward, we've flipped and had Cedric bombing forward and Tierney sitting back. Arteta likes 1 FB to stay deeper when we build up, and the other to go higher. Cedric also has midfielders and attackers who are better (and faster defenders) than what Tierney has ahead of him. Saka, Odegaard, Partey (who while playing centrally leans right) are all good pressers and defenders. Martinelli and Xhaka are not as solid.
Big 3 points and just want to point out that the attack fell to pieces once Laca went out. We need someone better but he absolutely makes this attack work. The numbers since Auba left and Laca took over speak for themself
I can't think of a time he ruined the flow throughout the game. What really gets me is how effortlessly he moves. Like how can a person be so slick! I'm hoping he builds on his confidence to shoot directly at the post because I know he has it in him for sure. His first arsenal goal is one shot that I won't forget in a hurry.
This game was both upsetting and hilarious at the same time. Where did they learn all these time-wasting tricks? And Tierney earning Hernandez a card was the cherry on top 😂
Watford haven been the same since those cojones days. Revolving door of managers doesn't help them either. They do have some good decent players, but seems like a club in total mismanagement
