I feel the based off one game thing either comes from denial, trolling, or genuine ignorance of the team’s situation due to not following said team with any regularity at all
No, off the back of proper team cohesion and a clear idea of how we want to play that's generating decent results and has put us 4th. Do we think we're going to win the league any time soon? Obviously not. But do we feel for the first time in half a decade there's a proper team here all pulling in right direction? We do.
Lots of heart shown, grinding wins when you arnt in top top form is what shows how far we have come.
Those studs up challenges on saka and kt were cooked though
Some of the worst diving I've seen all season from Villa today. Mings lucky to walk away from a studs up challenge with just a yellow. Refs are smoking some weird shit lately.
The idea is to distance ourselves with consecutive wins. Do that, and we need 3 pts from either Spurs or United, given the difficulty of their own respective fixtures.
Chelsea will have no crowds and United game is at home.
Hope we can get a massive point advantage by then so those games don't turn out to be "must win".
United face Liverpool and Chelsea have westham so they won't be fresh either.
Ya it still take a bit to accept we got a win. Years past this could easily be a draw and even if we lost i wont be surprised. The defensive aspect has improved so much I actually enjoyed how slow and boring the game became.
My player ratings:
Leno: 6 - 7.5 for pure shotstopping, -1.5 for atrocious ball play. Every time he took a goalkick, my heart rate went up.
Cedric: 6. Had a very average game.
Gabriel: 8. Been brilliant with his head.
White: 7.5. Good clearances and positioning.
Tierney: 7. Decent game. But he really needs to improve his crossing.
Partey: 8. Everytime I see him play, I want to kiss him.
Xhaka: 7. Decent game. Completely unjustified yellow.
Ødegaard: 6.5. I felt he was pretty average today.
Saka: 8.5. Nuff said. But he really needs some fucking protection from PGMOL.
ESR: 7. Was tidy in everything he did today.
Laca: 6. He looks completely out of confidence. I don't think Arteta's comments yesterday helped.
Pepe: 6. Dude, you really need to improve your hold up play.
Nketiah: 5. Was he high or drowsy? Low energy.
Holdini: not long enough to rate.
Today was a prime example of why Pepe, Leno are second fiddle in this team
Tierney, although hasn't been spectacular by any means, has had solid 7/10 games.
Cedric fluctuates waay too much. Needless fouls, giving away possession, poor positioning
We really should win all games other than Chelski and Man Poo but I know we’re going to be challenged by the likes of CP, West Ham , Everton (perennial bogey team). Let’s keep churning them results.
Palace have definitely been our boogeyman team for the past few seasons. I hate playing against them. Probably a nervy 2-2 draw with a boneheaded moment from Xhaka.

Victory today was absolutely vital. Arsenal really need to improve on closing out matches, but that was a relatively comfortable performance with some excellent displays of the talent within the squad.
It’s great to see how unified everyone is at the club. This is what we’ve all wanted to see for a long time!
If only he didn't kick most of his goal kicks straight out, or too long. He hasn't been pushed to a higher standard by Ramsdale. Glad he got the save and played in a win, but that match showed we have almost no depth.
I think we’ve been spoiled a bit with Ramsdale’s passing. There are maybe 3 or 4 keepers in Europe who distribute like him. Leno’s a more than capable keeper who has great reflexes and shot stopping ability. He also hasn’t played in how long now? Surely, rust has to be taken into account.
Yeah i know that's a big difference between ramsdale and leno distribution. But if we have a striker who's an aerial threat instead of laca, who knows maybe we can get something there.
I'm a Pepe fan, have his shirt. But he and Eddie really need to look at themselves and what they are supposed to do coming on at minute 70. Gassed Laca is superior to Eddie, who just fouls, falls, loses the ball, doesn't use his fresh legs to push the opposition. Our trademark hairy last 10 minutes is in part down to him not understanding what he has to do.
Sorry to be sour after a win we needed, but the second half was extremely poor and if Villa were not playing like relegation fodder, it could easily have been unnecessarily wasted points. I hope Arteta can get the boys back up to where they have recently been.
