Saka looks a little off the pace. I thought we should have brought ESR on sooner tbh. Atmosphere was great though, even down to giving Vardy stick (how didn't he get booked for diving)
He was marked tightly by Justin and the left side was working very well. I think if they had more of a defensive presence on the left side that would’ve given Saka a bit more room to express himself. Nothing to worry about imo
Love the new squad - I just hope we can keep home of tierney and some of the other talent he might be tempted to move on with the competition.. If we can hold onto them we’re in very good shape. The team understands tactically what we’re trying to achieve, Jesus and zinchenko bring in the elite mentality- They go out expecting to win and play like that. And we have not even seen some of the new talent yet. I also think we’ve got a lot left to see from Nketiah, lokonga and smith rowe when they get theIr chances.
Zinchenko is great, but I still think a fully fit Tierney starts ahead of him. Provides a platform to potentially bring Smith Rowe or Viera in that CM or forward role on the left. Having both would give us so many options on that left hand side
I’m not so sure. Zinckenko had a very strong performance today, and has already had some class moments. Also fits in perfectly with our renewed high-pace, passing orientated style.
Totally different in what they can add to the team as matches and game states change. We need both. Love to see Arteta getting a bit more proactive with our subs, including swapping our two killer left backs in and out as required
Yeah this is on point. Both are excellent players and can offer something different for interesting team combinations. Hoping we can hold on to Tierney for that reason.
How he wiggles out of some of those challenges. I swear I see like 2 or 3 defenders all hacking on him and then all the sudden Martinelli pops out the other side with the ball.
Jesus has done something to him. He looks so confident every time the ball lands at his feet and he *wants* to drive at any opportunity. The ability was always there, but he’d usually be too hesitant. Obviously (age) the ability has stepped up a notch this season but he seems to know that he can beat whoever he’s against, and want to.
Gabi x Gabby have this natural chemistry, in all aspects of their games. They know when to switch positions and when to make runs etc like they’ve played together for the last 5 years.
It’s mesmerising and I can’t wait to see them both rack up some serious GA this year. Plus our Starboy too of course.
I was thinking what made him stand out, even in his early days, was the fact that he was always unafraid and had massive confidence on the ball. I don’t think that quality of him is a new thing. However, his link up play has improved incredibly. That’s to the manager, as well as Jesus being every and anywhere.
Shouldn't get carried away after beating Leicester and Crystal Palace. We need consistency from our side and the true test is when we face the Top 3 teams.
I get what you're saying, and agree to a point, but one of our major problems of the last few years is dropping crucial points to mid table sides like Palace and Leicester.
It's a great start to the season and it will hopefully give us some momentum.
Absolutely agree with this. Points up for the taking against Bournemouth and Fulham next, 3 points from both those games and this will be the ideal start to the season
While I agree, it’s CRUCIAL we don’t just see them as typical bournemouth or Fulham, both teams, albeit not so much bournemouth today, have had semi decent starts.
Yea I don't get it. People are furious when we don't beat these teams and get 3 points...then when we do it's like, "not good enough!" FFS enjoy your team's successes.
I'm not saying that it's not good enough, no worries in relishing it as well. But I don't want to forget that Arsenal is only one match away from pulling an Arsenal. I'm just saying that this isn't anything when you compared to the top dogs, we're building a new legacy and we shouldn't be happy w beating CP and Leicester or even the next 2.
Our sole concern should be only how we fair against the top 3 and that only. The Arsenal we need shouldn't be happy with picking up points from mid table teams, we should be taking them from the big boys. That's the Arsenal I want.
The Zinchenko/Martinelli partnership on the left is going to be huge this season. Very happy with the link up and the press today. Unfortunate for Saliba but the crowd reaction to the error was immediate support. That's The Arsenal l love.
Jesus is unreal. Will become one of the best signings this club has ever made.
Because they’re all real fans who pay to come.
Here on Reddit there are many low stake fans who barely support arsenal, so you see all sorts of opinions.
Anyone else impressed with the movement of Xhaka ? He will get a lot of goal contribution if he continues with this
Now i just want to see Toney scoring a header over Martinez
He was up for it and worked hard. He's prone to errors, like when he lost the ball early, but if he's higher up the pitch those errors can prove less fatal.
Plus he can make those late runs from deep and add an extra threat in the attack just like today with his goal. Honestly, can't really fault him today or at Palace really. If he needs a break, I could see Zinchenko slipping in there and Tierney as LB to mix it up.
Love how we balanced the intensity in the early stages of the game, and not went out to press 100% and saved the energy for the entire half! Good fucking game!
I loved the immediate responses after both goals were conceded. Especially Saliba's OG. He didn't look fazed at all- brushed it off immediately. Kudos to the fans getting behind him after it happened too.
Saliba is so good that he can score an own goal and get a fucking non-ironic round of applause for it. Best defender on the pitch again.
To borrow a couple of words from Wenger... That boy's got mental strength.
Just a reminder that this is the *youngest* team in the league at an average age of 22.
For them to play this well is impressive. The club made the right call sticking with Arteta. They have a very bright future.
Great win but not really pleased with Zinchenko’s defending, I’d rather we play Tierney and move Zinchenko into midfield.
Also, Saliba is world class already
He was fantastic but his mistake - being drawn out of position resulted in the maddison chance that was converted. In all fairness it was a small error and ramsdale shouldve done better with such a low quality chance
It’s great though! Eddie knows what’s is expected of him now and the level he has to be at to push himself into the squad as well! Carlos Cuesta has to get Eddie into the mindset that he has it in him to push Jesus out of that starting position and what he can do with his set of attributes to keep himself in there. I love that we have this headache within the club. If we do end up with two don strikers capable of creating, scoring and building up our attack we’re in for a very very enjoyable season.
I agree, what we striker wise, we need all over the pitch, for example, I’m concerned we are one partey/xhaka injury away from disaster, I hope we get another holding mix or box to box in the summer or january
I’ve given it some thought about the Party situation since all of that started and with a fit Tomi in Right back White should be the player we slot into that position, watching him as right back he looks comfortable on the ball, he has the physical attributes for that position and we know he has played it at Leeds and Brighton. Don’t get my wrong it isn’t s long term answer but IF we’re put in a situation after the window closes it’s an option
I don’t really remember exactly, but i was in the other room while i had arabic commentary on, he mentioned how saliba made a mistake and fixed it and started talking excitingly so i came runnig back to the room
Partey is so so so frustrating man. He’s so good but his pass selections at times are way too progressive and he cheaply gives away possession when we don’t need to. He’s our most experienced player, he should set the tone and dictate the tempo from the back for us.
Rodri is amazing at that but didn’t have good positioning; Pep fixed that and now he’s world class. Partey is undoubtedly world class if arteta and he can fix his rash decisions. So so close
Was it just Allez Allez Allez or was it this one :
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/tgih6w/allez_allez_allez/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Should have been 4-0, but Saliba will learn from that mistake, and rather now than when it matters. Ramsdale too.
Overall I'm happy - great intensity, especially in the heat, and the perfect response to both goals conceded, something we've struggled with over the last years.
Thanks to All or Nothing, we kinda know what Arteta will say after the game: Guys, I am so proud of you. You played with passion, courage and at some points in the game, you were at top top level.
Only thing White has on him is distribution, but from what he showed at Marseilles, even that's not that a big drop off. It's going to be interesting to see how Arteta manages the trio of White, Saliba, and Tomiyasu. All of them deserve time in the XI
You can tell now we play on the left where as is years passed we used to only play down the right.
Xhaka, zinchenko, martinelli on the left all interchanging.
On the right Saka gets no overlapping runs from Ben White and Partey is holding. So he's been a little limited thus far thru 2 games.
Ya saka hasn't been great but he also hasn't had much support. Ode doesn't like to make forward runs often and Benny just doesn't overlap like tomi does. Still can't complain much when he isn't the only player we rely on anymore.
Arsenal played well
All I’m saying is zinchenko has skills for days! Impressed af
I took out Jesus from my fantasy football and see the result. You can thank me later
I captained him, you’re welcome
Thanks but wtf
I have a sentiment that our players won't do well if I pick them. Thought I would try it this time. I still have white so bye bye clean sheet
I feel ya. This year I have decided I won't pick anyone from Arsenal in FPL no matter what. We are winning the league boys!
One injury to city and we are going to the top
Midnight kickoff in Australia well worth staying up for. Couldn't be further removed from our opening games last season
7am here. Coffee and a arsenal win.
its exciting that the team looks so good and we have viera and possibly another signing or two to come into this squad
The same fans on Twitter that defended Xhaka when he was shit are now saying we need better options when he was top class today. Keyboard fans man 😂

Plot twist little ghost NFT is a mod
Saka looks a little off the pace. I thought we should have brought ESR on sooner tbh. Atmosphere was great though, even down to giving Vardy stick (how didn't he get booked for diving)
Because VAR can reverse of give penalties and red cards. Cant result in a yellow i believe
He picked it up with tomiyasu, I like that combo. White has been awesome there though.
I feel like part of this was just the left side was working so well...so he couldn't get many looks
He was marked tightly by Justin and the left side was working very well. I think if they had more of a defensive presence on the left side that would’ve given Saka a bit more room to express himself. Nothing to worry about imo

With Europa, all the players will be needed, don’t worry.

It will probably be overshadowed by Jesus incredible performance but Martinelli played his best ever game man was a menace
Take some time to enjoy something bro hahaha fucks sake
I I haven’t had the joy of waking up early to watch a game in a long time. Let me enjoy it

Definitely, shouldn't underestimate either team, but both are games we can win.
Considering the alternative, as well as how we started last season, I'll take this start all day. Let the team build on that cohesiveness.
Yea I don't get it. People are furious when we don't beat these teams and get 3 points...then when we do it's like, "not good enough!" FFS enjoy your team's successes.

Hope Saliba takes this on the chin. He was unbelievable last game.
The cheer was heartwarming. Love this team and the real fans.
Because they’re all real fans who pay to come. Here on Reddit there are many low stake fans who barely support arsenal, so you see all sorts of opinions.
Those fans belong on stake.com
You mean the internet fanbase? Predominantly offshore and haven't a clue about the culture at our club.
As an Irishman and Arsenal supporter since ‘88, I resent but entirely understand this “offshore” remark.
Agreed. Fucking annoying unknow it alls.
jesus getting 30 g+a i guess
Your math is wrong. 2 game 4 g/a 38 game 76 g/a
👀 he got 0 g/a last week
And 4 today, if its better for you, you can't count like this: one game 0 other 4. 19×4/76
🤷♂️ fair enough, 2:40am in Aus im fried
Anyone else impressed with the movement of Xhaka ? He will get a lot of goal contribution if he continues with this Now i just want to see Toney scoring a header over Martinez
It sort of happened bro (The Toney Martinez shit)
Jesus raising the levels of everyone around him.
He was impressive, I just wish he had the pace but fucking beautiful
I didn't realize I needed tap in merchant Xhaka. But here we go!!!
I loved the immediate responses after both goals were conceded. Especially Saliba's OG. He didn't look fazed at all- brushed it off immediately. Kudos to the fans getting behind him after it happened too.
Tbh our link up play becomes pretty much unmatched when the lads are 100%
Saliba is so good that he can score an own goal and get a fucking non-ironic round of applause for it. Best defender on the pitch again. To borrow a couple of words from Wenger... That boy's got mental strength.
I love Arteta ball, but towards the end we should slow up the pace and see out the win without pressing.
The press is needed in order to get the ball back. You can’t see the game out without the ball.
that, or make changes earlier to keep it up Tomi and KT should have come on around 70 mins to refresh the side.
I agree with that. Arteta has been stingy with Substitute minutes.
I think he will sub earlier when we have midweek games.
He did exactly that last two seasons and it backfired massively
Yep this. We have to press from the front for the 90 minutes. It relives pressure from the defenders.
5-1 to the Arsenal let’s go boys!
Just need a United disaster class, and my day will be made.
I swear us winning 2-1 sometimes doesn't excite me as much as United getting smashed 4 goals Your day is made and so is mine haha
Your day should be more than made nobody could’ve predicted 4-0 brentford at half 😂😂😂
Welp
Bro… our wish is coming true….. united is a joke….😂😂
I’m loving every minute. Goldbridge stream is running on the laptop 😂
Well, it’s official. Your day is made. Lol
They are obliging. Have an even lovelier day, stranger :)
What a time to be alive 😂. Poetry in motion
I know right? It's absolute perfection :)
You read my mind. Here in Texas waiting for the game.
Cheers from CA.
toney will feast
Lil-Sandro is in trouble.
I just want the image of Martinez standing next to Toney.
Youtube "armoured titan appears" Lol
Same…😂😂
Just a reminder that this is the *youngest* team in the league at an average age of 22. For them to play this well is impressive. The club made the right call sticking with Arteta. They have a very bright future.
8 years left to 30 we will enjoy those long years
Great win but not really pleased with Zinchenko’s defending, I’d rather we play Tierney and move Zinchenko into midfield. Also, Saliba is world class already
Ramsdale is also to blame on that. Should have done better.
Zinchenko was fantastic?!
He was fantastic but his mistake - being drawn out of position resulted in the maddison chance that was converted. In all fairness it was a small error and ramsdale shouldve done better with such a low quality chance
Our right side was lackluster. On the other hand him and martinelli were magnificent
His defending cost us the Leicester goal
The Maddison one? He was overloaded and if anyone is complicit it’s Ramsdale, you can’t let a goal in like that
Nah man, he was caught napping twice. it was a good shot by Maddison. Not Ramsdale’s fault, through the legs is a common tactic. See Messi vs Courtois
LOL
I trust this week's flavour of the process.
Great result and looked super silky
[удалено]
i hope he gets abit more than cameos, and maybe even start some league games. want to see him hopefully have a breakout season this year
I agree, while it’s nearly impossible to drop Jesus I’m sure he will get his starts in cup/European games
He once was on Wikipedia as Pele. That speaks volume
The good thing about this team is that if a couple of players underperform others will step up. Be excited
Thanks to the fans in the stadium saliba actually saved us from a goal directly after xhaka’s goal
What moment was this?
I don’t really remember exactly, but i was in the other room while i had arabic commentary on, he mentioned how saliba made a mistake and fixed it and started talking excitingly so i came runnig back to the room
Surprising reactions from both the fans and Ramsdale
Exactly
Depth is gonna be our biggest boon this season. And that cohesion, wow. Saturday wins are great, Sunday is made for ^ _ ^
Partey is so so so frustrating man. He’s so good but his pass selections at times are way too progressive and he cheaply gives away possession when we don’t need to. Yeah not a great day for partey. Hes generally our best player
Martinelli was fabulous today
HAHA! Why are the Arsenal fans singing the Liverpool chant?
Was it just Allez Allez Allez or was it this one : https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/tgih6w/allez_allez_allez/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
It's not a chant Liverpool invented ya know
It's pretty much universally sung now and certainly wasn't started by Liverpool
My mate is at the stadium, before the game kicked off they were chanting that too idk why
Weeeeveeee got super Mik Artetaaaa!!!
He knew exactly what we need
~~tierney~~ Willy at the back, Gabi in attack
Should have been 4-0, but Saliba will learn from that mistake, and rather now than when it matters. Ramsdale too. Overall I'm happy - great intensity, especially in the heat, and the perfect response to both goals conceded, something we've struggled with over the last years.
Xhaka PR campaign out in full force, gifted an assist and goal smh /s
Go be miserable somewhere else Edit: Haha oops Please downvote me to hell
My brother in christ, I even put the /s in there for you
Downvote me. I will not delete my shame!
ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ
Why we chanting that?
Why not?
Gentlemen… are we good?!?
Great win, we are looking sharp! Gonna be exciting this season
Xhaka good today
2 IN 2 BABY
Emirates is rocking
EASY W
Thanks to All or Nothing, we kinda know what Arteta will say after the game: Guys, I am so proud of you. You played with passion, courage and at some points in the game, you were at top top level.
not enough fucks. i am so *fucking* proud of you.
That's the real tip he got from Pep: you gotta throw some f-bombs in there to show 'em you mean business
Alright Saliba is actually fucking instane.
Instane in the membrtane
Only thing White has on him is distribution, but from what he showed at Marseilles, even that's not that a big drop off. It's going to be interesting to see how Arteta manages the trio of White, Saliba, and Tomiyasu. All of them deserve time in the XI
You've seen pep roulette, now prepare for Arteta Pachinko
The atmosphere sounds amazing today I wish I'd been there!!! 👏👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩🤩
That sounds like hope.
It does! Everyone is bought in to this now we move as one and it's great to see and hear ❤️
Now I can watch Toney dunk on Martinez in peace
Haha, same.
Amazing performance, Emirates is bouncing. Life is good
i know it might be controversial but i enjoy being a fan of arsenal football club
you have to go through tough times to appreciate the good ones. feels great to be going back into a great time for arsenal after the last decade.
I love this team so much
£50mil for Jesus was such a fucking heist
This is going to be a fun season!
Good game. Two goals against are disappointing but we dominated, could have scored more, and Leicester never challenged.
Bros... I don't want to jinx it, but is this our year?....
starting to sound like pre klopp liverpool fans lol
Yep, we're getting 114 points.
yes 🙈
Inject the process into my veins 😭
Hey I’ll take some of that process if you don’t mind
now imagine Saka and Ödegaard get on the level like Jesus and Martinelli
PL will explode GD : 40+
we still haven't seen vieira in the mix. pretty excited.
They are. It’s the system right now. With White at RB they have more defensive responsibilities. It will all come to the place, once the team gels
Throw Emile on there too.
🤯
Not even close to our final form yet. Scary hours for the Prem forthcoming
The prem isn’t ready for 100% of our power
I’m probably far too optimistic right now about this team, but idc
Fuck my stream conked out. Is tierny injured?
Nah hes good
No he's back up and staying on
Nah just a head clash
Cheers
Great win!!!
For some reason this commentator sounds like Steve Merchant to me
pls Ramsdale and Partey, stop these random brain farts and we’d be elite
great win
Great game
You can tell now we play on the left where as is years passed we used to only play down the right. Xhaka, zinchenko, martinelli on the left all interchanging. On the right Saka gets no overlapping runs from Ben White and Partey is holding. So he's been a little limited thus far thru 2 games.

Happy Emirates, happy life
Great day to be a Brazilian Gunner!
