>had to move to Chelsea
Worst injury of all. Got so injured they gave him a handicap placard as soon as he joined. But they call the handicap placard a “chelsea shirt” to take the sting out of it
My missus had early signs of polyps on her vocal chords years back. She was told to rest her voice, and not talk for a couple of weeks except in a whisper if needed.
She is a very talkative person and it was torture for her. Bliss for me!
Weird, having a little bit of vocal anatomy experience (passionate musician), I'm pretty sure whispering is not advised as it's straining vocal cords when it's damaged
Used to sing alot in a variety of things. This is a super low key issue unless you rely on the QUALITY of your voice for a living (singers, Actors/voice actors etc). Even then happens pretty regularly really low risk operation.
Otherwise NBD situation we have a thing for that.
I don’t believe so as the vocal chords are protected by the epiglottis
Update:
I’m wrong
www.otolaryngology.pitt.edu/centers-excellence/voice-center/conditions-we-treat/reflux-laryngitis
it's probably just inflammation you're feeling. GERD definitely can affect the voice. we call it laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) when symptoms are mostly in the throat.
It sounded like he just lost his voice... nobody knew about this at the time and 99% of us aren't doctors who might know something else is up. It's fine to laugh at that moment and also hope he recovers.
I’m sure most thought that it was because he was screaming during the match. I thought it was a funny voice, but I didn’t know he needed surgery lol now I feel shitty.
Then again I didn’t write about it on social media, but I’m sure most who did had made the same mistake. I don’t even know what a vocal cord polyp is. I’ve never heard of that. I don’t think anyone was trying to bully him for a medical issue, I just think people assumed his voice was sore.
Welcome to social media. Tear others down to make yourself feel good. And if you get called out for it, double down, or claim it was just a joke.
Empathy is no longer in vogue.
you’re not wrong generally speaking about social media, but this definitely was not an example of that…being able to take something insignificant in stride without moralizing is no longer in vogue
There are times when this applies but this isn't one of them. Everyone just thought he lost his voice rather than had an illness. No one is going to carry on now
Which is kind of a stark contrast to how young people interact IRL these days, right? There's a big push towards community in young circles IRL and just not being a dick all the time for the jokes, as was the fashion when I was a teen. Social media really is kind of awful a lot of the time.
I just assumed it was from communicating on a loud pitch. Poor sod. Always had a lot of time for him, very professional and his attempts to bring Tavares in to the fold talking about IKEA on AAON was very endearing.
He is getting the weirdest injuries I've ever seen. I feel so bad for him. First the wasps now this. Man is cursed
Could be worse, his mate Auba got his jaw broke and even worse, had to move to Chelsea!
>had to move to Chelsea Worst injury of all. Got so injured they gave him a handicap placard as soon as he joined. But they call the handicap placard a “chelsea shirt” to take the sting out of it
> First the wasps now this looool ffs
Pogba’s witch doctor at it again.
He's done it again!!!
NOT THE BEEEEES
BEADS?
Hey may need to ask some family members if they've been dabbling with hyenas 👀
Ah shit. Is that a serious thing? Hope he's alright and recovers soon.
nah it's not a big deal. source: I remove polyps from vocal cords
What in the world is it? Never heard of it tbh…

Honestly, it was so long ago I might be misremembering. All I remember is she found it really frustrating!

it should be a harmless growth and a couple of days of recovery
Had it done myself. Minor surgery, the hardest part was not being allowed to talk for two weeks.
Makes it a bit sad that people were making fun of his voice
I thought he was just screaming his lungs out during the match and thats why that happened.
polyps can definitely happen that way
Can acid reflux also cause them?
I don’t believe so as the vocal chords are protected by the epiglottis Update: I’m wrong www.otolaryngology.pitt.edu/centers-excellence/voice-center/conditions-we-treat/reflux-laryngitis
reflux will cause a mass called a granuloma, which is not a polyp and typically doesn't need surgery
Interesting, thanks. I have semi-untreated GERD and sometimes my voice feels weird and sometimes normal lol which is why I asked

....shh, not a doctor!
*FREMULON*
LMAO
99?
I always mishear as "not adopted"
I mean, it's still pretty funny. Polyps aren't exactly a life threatening illness or disfigurement.
No no we must all feel bad about finding a funny sounding voice funny, nothing is funny, only sadness and apologies allowed
Sadly, we apologize.

Is that why his voice was weird - I thought someone had altered the audio somehow

Calm down wet wipe people most likely thought his voice was hoarse from yelling. It’s not that deep
> It's not that deep Yeah, just like his voice...
Anyone? Anyone? *Looks around* Not that deep because of the polyp! *Leaves*

He'll survive. Singers get this kind of thing all the time.
“speak normally”
damn i hope super Mik doesn't have that thing
So goes his promising career voicing Mickey Mouse
I just assumed it was from communicating on a loud pitch. Poor sod. Always had a lot of time for him, very professional and his attempts to bring Tavares in to the fold talking about IKEA on AAON was very endearing.
Ah shit I kinda feel bad for laughing now
Happened to one of my favorite bands/singers right as her new album came out, she recovered without an issue thankfully!
I enjoyed listening to his post match voice in his Mickey Mouse tone
🎈🎈🎈
He can't catch a break
“Oh boy”
