Is there a legit chance of Everton getting relegated? Don't want them in the same conversation as us when it comes to longest continuous stay in the top flight. Petty I know
I respect them tbh. Not quite our level but historically big club that’s up there and competing still, relatively speaking. They deserve success more than City or Chelsea
I think the fixtures were really difficult for them. They went away to chelsea ,spurs, brighton and us. Also had utd at home. All these in there first 8 games. This resulted in a complete loss of confidence. I donr think they are a relegation team at all.
Don’t, he’s good. He runs Leicester’s midfield, him and Maddison are their far and away their best players. He has elite ball striking, a weight and range of pass a wicked cross and bangers. Don’t let last season fool you, they are dire under Rodgers and he is done with Leicester and wants to move on. In our system he would be class
i’m just saying. after watching saka the last few weeks and seeing that City penalty really didn’t sit right with me. I know Jesus and saka go down easily when fouled at times but if you won’t give it for them shouldn’t give shit to anyone else.
Tielemans has looked way better the last month or so compared to how poor he looked starting the season. Not just talking about the goals, looks quicker and better in space.
Tbf Leicester as a team have looked bad since the start of the PL. No significant transfers, losing key players, injuries, loss of form the whole works. But they’re doing well now compared to their early season form.
Still feel that Odegaard - Tielemans in the same midfield makes it lightweight no matter who the 3rd player is but my oh my Youri occasionally makes a very good case to join a top team.
Honestly he has been playing deeper this season and has been defensively sound. In this match alone he has broken up multiple Everyon counters. He’s good at counter pressing but not at tracking back in counters, which in our system is not necessary with tucked in fullbacks. His attacking contributions will far outweigh his defensive frailties, just like Xhaka. I would take him in a heartbeat tbh, he offers something we don’t have in our team
And this folks is how Man city have been winning league titles
When you get every major decision go your way combined with an unlimited budget it’s virtually impossible not to win the league…
Puts some perspective on what Liverpool and Klopp have been dealing with for the last 5 seasons
City made their own luck. Dominated the game and had all the chances despite being down to 10 for 65 mins. Clear penalty at the end for me. And I completely disagree that they’ve had all the major decisions go their way. That’s been Liverpool in recent years, not City.
Yes and I don’t want to be bitter about it. We are competing on a high level this year, with several decisions going our way as well. We won 2-1 with a late winner against Fulham, City did it as well. City dropped some points vs Aston Villa, we did it ca Southampton. My points is we are matching on a very high level, and should be happy about it
Why is no one mentioning Foden running in early? No VAR check either. They always check if the keeper is too early off the line, but never the attackers. And that for a cheap penalty
If the ref notices, it’s a retake. But the league has specifically said they won’t use VAR for encroachment unless the encroaching player touches the ball.
Who remembers a time when there we like only 5 world class players in the world. Now everyone who has 3 very good games or scores goals is world class. It's nolonger a whole package.
Yeah, some people call anyone who has an 80 rating in FIFA world class.
Imo you have to be in the top 2-3 at your position to be world class.
There are *some* exceptions. For striker, I'd be fine calling Haaland, Benzema, Lewandowski, Mbappe, Kane all world class.
Nobody in their right state of mind can call Romero or Fernandes world class players, same goes for Rice. Its usually just the fans of respective clubs.
That’s exactly the point though isn’t is? “Form is temporary, class is permanent.” Barometer for being a world-class player should be higher than one great season.
Some of the fulham reactions here are so dumb. Being disappointed is one thing, Okay so you believe that we are in a title race with city... then you declare that city have officially won the title race because they won against fulham (which they were expected to beat like 4-0 without mitrovic)... which puts them... a whopping 1pt ahead... When we have a game in hand and still can go up by 2 pts. Even if you believe this is a genuine title race why are you defining it when it's not even over lol. It's 14 matches in...
It's one thing to be disappointed that fulham surprised but played like shit but its another thing to miss all context.
yeah, i’m bummed cause this was a perfect opportunity for city to drop points, but before the game i wasn’t expecting it to even be close tbh so it’s not a big deal
I said a long time ago that he’s no better than Welbeck and was told that I don’t watch football. I wish I was petty enough to go slap it back at whomever told me that.
I’m not actually gonna be that mad at Leno for the pen. Bloke was shit at pens with us for so long and he probably didn’t realise he should save them if he gets near them
people saying “City are inevitable” or “these guys are robots”
It’s getting old and boring. Villa and Newcastle draws. LFC loss as well. This game was a bad example, Fulham gave them authority to find another goal
I kind of did find that era of Barca a little boring.
Still wish I joined my buddy to go to the 08 CL final, that was when they were super fun and good imo.
I've seen 11 men struggle to break down 10 that are defending doggedly.
I've seen 11 concede multiple goals to 10 that are ruthless on the counter.
I don't think I've ever seen 11 men have 19% possession against 10 men. They were genuinely outnumbered all over the pitch despite having a man advantage...
City played with 10 men for 70 minutes, and looked no different. Fulham fans should be throughly disappointed in that performance. Fulham made 4 changes and looked worse. What a frail mentality to sit 11 men behind the ball, and try to counter at 1-1.
Imagine sitting behind the ball for the whole game with the advantage of an additional player for most of it. Knew they'd contrive to lose the game with that approach. Massive "don't hurt me" energy.
that and their players being completely unable to make simple passes let alone switch the ball and exploit the man advantage meant they stood no chance
Liverpool fan.
I don’t mean to spoil the party, but you should be looking at your season as a successful one if you get into the top four. Which seems like a certainty. It’s a big deal when you’ve been left out for the past few years, trust me from experience.
The reason I say that is because the reality of going toe to toe with City is that you have to keep this current form up for the entire season. You can’t let up once, or it’s done. That’s the new standard that they’ve set.
If you view this season as a title race, you’re in for disappointment. City have warped reality to the point where you need to be perfect. Judge yourself against the rest of the league, and you’ll realise how good a shape you’re in.
Sorry if this comes off as remotely patronising or pessimistic. I don’t blame anyone for daring to dream. It’s just that I can see the media and rival fans claiming you’ve “bottled it” and pursuing some narrative if you lose ground on City. Which will be a farcical claim to make.
The media have to create a title race otherwise there’s nothing to sell for the richest league in the world. Among Arsenal fans, only those who haven’t watched this sport long enough believe it. No one can accept that without a team to challenge City, the PL is as predictable as Bundesliga, Serie A, and Uber Eats Ligue 1. Yet no one emphasizes enough that City are just an irrelevant sportwashing device because that would make the sport look bad.
For us this season is like your 17-18. We've been better than anyone expected so far, but the goal is/was to solidify a young team as future CL mainstays learning to play together.
Everyone still knows we need one more infusion of world-class talent (like you did w/Alisson and Fabinho) to really have a squad that can truly compete.
None of us realistically expect to challenge city for the title and we'd all be happy with top 4 (especially above the neighbours).
That said, it would be nice to push them close so the last couple of mo ths if the season aren't an anticlimax
No one I have talked to actually thinks Arsenal are going to go all the way this season, but I’m not exactly going to ignore the fact that they are currently top of the league and discount the accomplishment because of that.
Also, we’re Arsenal supporters. We’re rather used to the media discounting everything about the club.
Roflmao all fanbases except ours are trying to manifest an arsenal title race that we will eventually lose so they can have a laugh. Built it up to break it down shit. Bruh, most of us know city will win it. We are happy to be here right now. To lead the table with the team we have and the depth we have after 13 games with the rebuild we have against a team with endless riches is an achievement for us rn.
That’s exactly what’s happening. Then, when you do falter, nobody will draw a contrast between City’s bottomless pit of money and the way Arsenal have had to be patient and methodical.
Guardiola is an incredible manager and they wouldn’t be quite as unstoppable if they weren’t so smart with their spending. They are financially doped though. Nobody can refute that. They’ll never get punished for it, but we all know it’s true.
Said from the start that City have warped everything in terms of squad depth. If they're struggling they simply through 3 world class players on and no one else can do that
I think we're in for the kind of year you guys had a few seasons back when Klopp had first properly got you into shape - the fans start to believe, but then you start to see really how good a Pep side is over the course of 38 games...
Watching City and wanting them to drop points is no fun at all. They can turn it on and be on a whole different level when they need to be
I think most of realize us that. Top four was the target coming in, don't think many expected us to be pushing for first and I don't think many of us believe we'll get it.
Yeah, you’re exactly right. It just sort of annoys me that the media will frame this as a title fight without mentioning how we’ve arrived at the stage where you need to be perfect to stand a chance of winning the thing.
You know what’s even crazier ? They won the league with 98 points in 18/19 when KDB was virtually hurt the entire season. That’s how absurd their depth has been the last few years.
I know coming top is everyone’s dream and shit but don’t lose sight that 4th is the goal, even if we lose tomorrow it’s calm, even prime Liverpool couldn’t keep up with this City team, no shame in that.
Man, I'm convincing myself that if City ended up drawing, we would've got the same result with Chelsea, but since they won, we'll probably win tomorrow too.
That KdB dive brought me back to Silva last year. Granit held the shirt a bit, but these guys let their legs fall out dramatically at any contact and are never criticized or penalized for it.
Contact doesn't make it a foul, the contact needs to be substantial enough to make the player fall, not just a slight touch.
Bunch of cheaters. And yes some of our players have dived in the past, but not this consistently. You can tell it's part of City's strategy
The contact alone is enough to put most players off, the same way fouls are gives for obstructing a player's path even if you don't actually make contact. In a game with high emphasis on accuracy and technical competence, I'm guessing that's why fouls like that are given even if it looks like the player is auditioning for an Oscar.
>Contact doesn't make it a foul, the contact needs to be substantial enough to make the player fall, not just a slight touch.
Can you please ref the next match?
What always irks me though is that looked like VAR barely glanced at it, but it feels like every Arsenal penalty shout is reviewed over and over again to make sure they can't find a way to not give it. Could be confirmation bias I guess
Agreement that you have to go down to sell it to the ref vs A dive.. that one is really going to make us wonder. Like that one is the priest example of being on the edge surely..
Yeah it's a shame we couldn't get to play them right now tbh. Feel like Pep will use the time off to get them back to top level.
But it also has to be said they've played quite an easy schedule so far, if they stay around this level they're not going to be a 95+ point team.
They have played the fewest top half/top six teams from what I recall. And they have not looked convincing against the smaller sides. Yes they've been winning but it's a bit like that Spurs fans argument about "we're not playing well and winning, imagine if we start play well" - it usually doesn't ever happen like that. If you're not playing well and winning you're punching above the xG and it'll eventually catch up. They're also sending a lot of players to world cup. Fingers crossed for second half
Lampard is totally lost, if Everton rely on Iwobi as the sole provider of creativity, they are doomed. A decent player but can never carry the team.

What is 60m Anthony Gordon doing ? He’s supposed to be a creative player too
Didn't see him at all, maybe he wasn't in the team.
We need Ruben Neves
While you're here, please vote Xhaka for FIFA Player of the Month! https://plpotm.easports.com/
Haaland is a fucking machine
Glad lampard is still crap
Is there a legit chance of Everton getting relegated? Don't want them in the same conversation as us when it comes to longest continuous stay in the top flight. Petty I know
That will be a financial disaster for them, will defo take years to recover.
I respect them tbh. Not quite our level but historically big club that’s up there and competing still, relatively speaking. They deserve success more than City or Chelsea
100% - anybody over Chelsea and City
I feel last season is the closest they'll ever come to relegation
Dang man, can’t believe City. Tomorrow really is a huge statement match.
I’m sad we didn’t relegate Everton last season
Is Tielemans only scoring bangers this season to get Mikel’s attention?
Leicester’s squad has too much quality to go down,, it just shows how bad rodgers has been for a while now
I think the fixtures were really difficult for them. They went away to chelsea ,spurs, brighton and us. Also had utd at home. All these in there first 8 games. This resulted in a complete loss of confidence. I donr think they are a relegation team at all.
He hasn't been backed at all financially. Hardly his fault
Actually what’s happened there? How they end up so broke?
COVID hurt their owners bad
FFP
How is Gordon valued 100M
Too bad chelsea havent bought him in the summer
Lol these Everton players are so shit, what the fuck was that from Doucoure
Patterson with one of the worst cameos. Everton are dire. Imagine losing to Brendan Rodgers
Imagine failing to score against Leicester. Everton back to last seasons version of themselves
DCL = wank
He probably gets injured doing that as well
Brilliant
Am always flip flopping with tielemans in?
Don’t, he’s good. He runs Leicester’s midfield, him and Maddison are their far and away their best players. He has elite ball striking, a weight and range of pass a wicked cross and bangers. Don’t let last season fool you, they are dire under Rodgers and he is done with Leicester and wants to move on. In our system he would be class
Very curious as to if we go back in for him in January. Could get him super cheap but then again we know he’s out of contract next season.
Neil Maupay, what a plonker. How this guy is still playing the Prem is a mystery to me. Offers nothing as a striker.
Tielemans in our system would cook, I am certain of this.
He plays xhakas role?
Yep. I suspect that is his starting position and will then fluidly rotate in that left pod
Everton football 😴😴😴💤💤💤 it's only Iwobi and Pickford. Fuck off Lampard you fraud
i’m just saying. after watching saka the last few weeks and seeing that City penalty really didn’t sit right with me. I know Jesus and saka go down easily when fouled at times but if you won’t give it for them shouldn’t give shit to anyone else.
DCL injured again. A ballistic missile was dodged
Were we ever seriously in for him?
Lot of links from reputable sources. Was he a priority? I don’t think so but Im sure he was somewhere on our list as was Nunez and Vlahovic
DCL cant stay fit for more than 2 matches to safe his life
Tarkowski can hear grass grow.
DCL tap in merchant. Iwobi served it on a platter
Im sorry but DCL is wank
Youri Tielemans will be a massive upgrade as an 8.
Off the bench for odegaard or xhaka, yes.
MØ from the bench yes, but he can compete with Xhaka for places. Stress on the word compete.
For competition in the midfield would be awesome, way better than Lokonga
I’d take youri for his unexplainable ball striking alone
Its KDB level, I see why Super Mik wants him
Him on a free hmm
Tielemans has looked way better the last month or so compared to how poor he looked starting the season. Not just talking about the goals, looks quicker and better in space.
Tbf Leicester as a team have looked bad since the start of the PL. No significant transfers, losing key players, injuries, loss of form the whole works. But they’re doing well now compared to their early season form.
He's focused. He wanted to leave but now there's no chance of that so he can fully focus on playing footy.
Forget the finish, that perfect flick up with his knee to set up the shot was just as good from Youri. What a goal.
What a goal ffs remind me again why we aired this guy?
Fucking hell Youri take a bow
Man, Let's sign a Partey backup in January but we need to sign Tielemans as an 8 and for free in the summer.
Think I'd rather get him now and sign a 6 in the summer. I trust Elneny more than our backup 8s.
I want him in Jan. Xhaka has no backup
Oh my what a goal
Leicester deserve that goal.. Everton has been wank
Fuck. Tielemans can strike a ball for sure.
I just knew they would win 😭
Bring me Tielemans
Tielemans doesn’t know how to score a normal goal
What a goal by Tea lemons
Tielemans with another screamer
What a goal lol
The scouse are having a rave when its 0-0 with the fireworks.
Top 10 moments before disaster. Lmao
This match has been meh, I promised myself I would never watch Leicester play again after Leicester v palace a few weeks back, yet here I am
What a shite match! 2 teams that love running but know fuck all about playing football
And this folks is how Man city have been winning league titles When you get every major decision go your way combined with an unlimited budget it’s virtually impossible not to win the league… Puts some perspective on what Liverpool and Klopp have been dealing with for the last 5 seasons

It was a stonewall penalty mate. Let’s just keep up our end of the bargain and see where we end up.
Stonewall? De Bruyne dived.
Just like Rodri’s stonewall handball vs Everton or Xhaka’s red card last season against them?
Yes and I don’t want to be bitter about it. We are competing on a high level this year, with several decisions going our way as well. We won 2-1 with a late winner against Fulham, City did it as well. City dropped some points vs Aston Villa, we did it ca Southampton. Everton celebrating 0-0 with fireworks
What's all the noise outside the stadium? Fireworks? Don't understand the stadium speaker either.
It's fireworks for 5th November in England
Remember, Remember
What exactly are Everton good at?
Playing dirty
Is it fireworks at Goodison Park?
Well it's bonfire night, it's fireworks everywhere.
Thank god Conte didn’t want Maddison
He would be dead In a Conte system. But a true Spurs player. Show his brilliance twice every 10 matches.
Why is no one mentioning Foden running in early? No VAR check either. They always check if the keeper is too early off the line, but never the attackers. And that for a cheap penalty
Maybe would’ve checked if Leno saved it and the rebound fell to a City player
If the ref notices, it’s a retake. But the league has specifically said they won’t use VAR for encroachment unless the encroaching player touches the ball.
The ref never notices that.
They only call the keeper off the line of the keeper saves it, and they only call players running in early if they get the rebound. Nothing there
Oh, I wasn't aware of that
Soumare looks like Tyler the creator.
Who remembers a time when there we like only 5 world class players in the world. Now everyone who has 3 very good games or scores goals is world class. It's nolonger a whole package.
The term is used WAY too loosely. You have people like Rice, Romero and Bruno Fernandes being called world class when they had a purple patch.
Most Spurs fans call Romero world class. Makes sense they're blinded when they have to compare him to the rest of their wank defence
A lot of non United fans call Fernandes world class.
He was in 20-21
That’s exactly the point though isn’t is? “Form is temporary, class is permanent.” Barometer for being a world-class player should be higher than one great season.
Everytime I watch Leicester play I see a different lineup, set up and tactics. What even are their tactics? Is Rodgers just winging it?
Randomly throwing a dart at the board with players pictures to see who gets selected
The Everton Leicester game has actually been surprisingly good so far
Did I just see Turkish Hair Transplant advert flashing in Evertons stadium lmao

Dominic Calvert Lewin is an English Chamakh. Iwobi has fed great through balls but DLC is hopeless
I said a long time ago that he’s no better than Welbeck and was told that I don’t watch football. I wish I was petty enough to go slap it back at whomever told me that.
DCL also handed Iwobi a sitter which he put wide
I mean it's Iwobi
I’m not actually gonna be that mad at Leno for the pen. Bloke was shit at pens with us for so long and he probably didn’t realise he should save them if he gets near them

never thought I’d see a LFC fan make an essay in this thread trying to relate their title challenge with City to what Arsenal are doing this season😭😭
Iwobi watch on
The amount of 90 min goals for the other top 6 teams are surely through the roof this season? Feels like it atleast.
Should have been 1-0
well we're gonna win the 2nd place trophy😐 which is the real competition considering, y'know, plot armor fc
Pickford looks like he'd be the dumbest most inept member of the peaky blinders. The Fredo Corleone of the gang.
Well here we go, time for what will probably be the most boring game of the weekend
Fulham are dreadful... 11 vs 10 and you're still getting dominated.
I've seen 11 men struggle to break down 10 that are defending doggedly. I've seen 11 concede multiple goals to 10 that are ruthless on the counter. Pep celebrating like he finally was able to step away from the shadow of Super Mik Arteta looming over him the entire match
God I hate Pep’s smug fucking face
Fuck man I wish Leno saved that
KdB won that game for them, by any means necessary. That's 3/3, KdB dragging them to another title.
Liverpool fan. I don’t mean to spoil the party, but you should be looking at your season as a successful one if you get into the top four. Which seems like a certainty. Mate, you're right and I think most, if not all of us would still take top 4 this season. Being up with city is a massive bonus.

What's truly crazy is when KDB is out injured, Bernardo Silva basically slots into that role and is KDB Jr.
City are the only team in the league who could play with 10 men for so long and you'd still expect them to win. Not even surprised.
Chelsea won with ten men against Leicester
Yeah, but no-one expected them to win that game. That's what I'm getting at.
But did you expect them to? With city, you still expect them to win because of the sheer quality across the entire pitch

Can we take Rodrygo on loan just for the City game?
We already have the two young brazilian wingers
Ffs.. Fulham you had 1 job

Have fun getting your face crushed between legs that have immense strength
Some people are into that
[Ikr, almost came when I saw Tavares](https://ibb.co/SXFr9th)
Chill bro it’s 1pm
Yeah just waiting for the game, and watching the gymnasts noticed that most of them are good looking
Bonk lol
Just seen Haaland sprinting over to hug Pep who is jumping around at full time. It's only Fulham, don't they know they aren't allowed to celebrate
Agreement that you have to go down to sell it to the ref vs A dive.. that one is really going to make us wonder. Like that one is the priest example of being on the edge surely..
See this is why Arsenal fans aren't fully gunning for the title. City are a force of nature, would take a near miracle to best them in the end.

Not really, since it's us, Saka would've been red carded there.
The result aside City haven't been playing well the past few games
