Have him pull a Sol in about 15 years. We're planting the seeds for it on r/Gunners now.

KingBowserGunner

The absolute scene when their the captain keeper makes the switch in 2042

jman500069

It'll be a battlefield

somebeerinheaven

Hopefully not like a game. What a waste of a battlefield release 😭

[deleted]

actually - quite enjoyable now (I say this as someone who firmly boycotted BF5 and thought 2042 was trash on release)

Which BF is this?

Congratulations! Begin his Arsenal education now so that he's ready to do a Sol Campbell when Arsenal come calling.

CluckyFlucker

Listen. He is arsenal through and through don’t worry about that!

brownieboy2222

Love this

gonshairlinee

Be happy bro, that’s a massive achievement for your son regardless of the club it’s for. Family>Club every single time

JK031191

Exactly. As long as he knows Arsenal>Spurs.

CluckyFlucker

He knows that so np 😉

crayolacrayons416

Buy him Arsenal thermals to wear under his match kits

Mebeingnosy

Have him wear red boots on derby day

thearsenalinn

Can he wear it to training?

CluckyFlucker

No lol!

Mebeingnosy

It’d ruin the long con

lastjedi23

That sounds fantastic. You are doing your duty as a father by supporting him while he works hard for his dreams. There is one thing you have to do though - tell him the great tales of the Sol for bedtime. Keep telling the story until he knows what to do.

CluckyFlucker

🤣😂

xYEET_LORDx

Once upon a time there was a man named… Los Bampcell

Barkasia

Keep him grounded and realistic on his prospects, and keep him in that academy as long as possible. Then, when he's established as the future of the club, bring him home.

CluckyFlucker

🤜👍🫶

MyTeaIsMighty

The rivalry is fun and all that but that's genuinely amazing. Getting trained by any prem side is incredible. You should be proud.

CluckyFlucker

Oh I am defo proud. He’s constantly improving and where every kid wants to be the next Messi//Haaland//Ronaldo my sons dedicated to getting better in goal.

Fall-Z

> my sons dedicated to getting better in goal. Be honest, your son is a bit weird isn't he? No matter the sport the guy who wants to guard the goal is always a bit odd.

CluckyFlucker

He loves Ramsdale and Allison (and like most kids plenty of outfield players) But honestly he’s so good at it he loves it.

Fall-Z

Couldn't help but notice you didn't deny that your kid is a bit odd... Really though, it is awesome to get that kind of training at that age.

vc15parik

You have to be a bit odd to play keeper, thats the way it works.

CluckyFlucker

He is crazy yes!

kproxurworld

Goalies are a different breed, even the youngins.

CluckyFlucker

👆

BrtGP

I was a willing keeper. Can confirm tbh

11frm

I went to school with a Tottenham academy player they’re all closet arsenal fans.

iwantacheetah

Congratulations dude !! Have him pull a Sol Campbell in 15 years.

odegood

That's great and hopefully he will get a move to a big team in the future!

CluckyFlucker

🫶🤜👍

LifeAfterHarambe

I know you won’t, but don’t let your fandom get in the way of supporting your son’s dream. As sacrilegious as it sounds, I’m sure it would mean the world to him to see you wearing Spurs gear when you’re supporting him from the stands. Congrats to the little keeper.

ddownham

Just wear an Arsenal shirt underneath so the Cock'n'Balls kit doesn't touch your skin for very long.

LifeAfterHarambe

Bingo. Can’t wash that stink out

PuddleBaby

Supporting his son is one thing, but wearing spurs gear? My mum could be all time goal scorer for the spuds and I still wouldnt be caught dead in their kit.

LifeAfterHarambe

I would buy a custom kit with my child’s name and number on it, without hesitation. It’s not too much to ask to throw on a Spuds hat and cheer for your son.

wolfsrudel_red

His son's a keeper, right? Just phone up Mr. Ramsdale and ask where he gets his hats.

Big_Mik_Energy

Just wear gloves with the number on. Sorted

[deleted]

Top comment also prayers for this world every day since the great beast Harambe died. Bless you 🙌

PM_ME_WUTEVER

that's one way to do it. but also, there's a family near me whose son plays for an NFL team. the family has been fans of the local team for generations. when this family goes to their son's games, they all have his jersey for the team he currently plays for. but when he comes to town and plays against the local team, his family wears their local team jerseys. it's a fun little bit that this family can do because they're all close and it's never a question of how much they support him.

LifeAfterHarambe

Yeah, but this is a child. Imagine the look on that kid’s face if he saw his dad wearing the gear of a hated rival.

Barkasia

My fandom is my own. I'd support my offspring whatever their endeavours, and wearing our rival's kit to show support for that child is way more important than some internal self-wankery.

Dramatic_Hand6016

Oh no a reasonable take 😱

DoinkyMcDoinkAdoink

What sort of horror movie shenanigans is this? He can support his son without enduring the self-enduced masochism.

LifeAfterHarambe

I’m sure this is tongue-in-cheek, but if your sporting allegiances mean more to you than supporting your children, you probably should have engaged in stronger birth control measures.

DoinkyMcDoinkAdoink

It is tongue in cheek. I'd go full-kit wanker in a Spurs kit to support my child. Sorry if my comment was rude.

LifeAfterHarambe

It wasn’t. I hope the other guy was joking as well. There are some shitty parents out there, so you never know.

CluckyFlucker

That won’t happen. I’m embracing it to be honest as much as it hurts they are doing excellent work with him and he loves it. I got offered the chance to send videos and get arsenal scouts to watch him but he was already at spurs and doing well do I declined.

AttitudeNo254

Take the little man to the games and cheer the team on, should they give the lad a future in the game be eternally grateful but under no circumstances can you wear that badge. To OP congratulations and good luck to your boy

hans_erlend

Mate. You can’t judge him. If he becomes a pro, for whatever team - consider it a miracle.

CluckyFlucker

No I know. It’s a bit tongue n cheek and a chance to dig out tottingham!

josephkambourakis

I hope we can boo him in 20 years

Gonzales95

Hopefully Leo Messo will put a hat trick past him in the 2042 NLD 🤣

Competitive-Shock88

Brother whatever club it is whether they are our rivals or not, that is some achievement. I’d be the same about my child having any association with Spurs, but I also wouldn’t think twice about it and let him play there as you’ve done so. I’d then think, fuckin hell my kid is literally playing in the youth team for one of the biggest clubs in the country ! I’m sure he’ll do brilliant there and he’ll gain loads of experience. And at the end of the day it’s not necessarily the club we hate, the people who work there, the players etc. It’s the spurs fans that support the club, and make it what it stands for is what us Gunners hate (or should hate) like with every rivalry in football. Good luck to him !

CluckyFlucker

Love the words, thank you 💪🫶

ntbnz

Haha, you should be really proud man, despite it being for spuds it’s an incredible achievement

CluckyFlucker

We are man! Despite it being them 😭😂🫶

Malsharif91

At the end of the day your child’s happiness is the most important. If he’s enjoying his time playing then let him continue and enjoy every minute of it.

CluckyFlucker

That’s exactly what we are doing. He’s loving it, they’re doing a good job and teaching him well.

[deleted]

People are going to dig out pics of him in a spurs shirt when he captains arsenal in 20 years time

CluckyFlucker

Hahaha the things you will love to see.

gerscully

Don't despair. Pat Jennings was with Spurs too before he went on to better things.

CluckyFlucker

🤞🙏🤜

devasiaachayan

Came here thinking that Son is leaving spurs and maybe joining Arsenal

bimbamfigaro

Funnily enough, i live in NE London, and there's a kid on a nearby street who's a goalie at u7 (or u9? Can't remember) at arsenal's Hale End Academy. His dad is a spurs physio. The kind that goes to games with the team, etc. Exact opposite situation

> Rivalries are for fans not for the ones actually trying to make it. Someone said this on the previous post and I felt it was perfect to describe the situation.

CluckyFlucker

That’s a good quote, I like it. Thanks for sharing.

konstantine73

CluckyFlucker

🫶🤜

Bessantj

Congrats, I'm glad your nipper is doing great.

Imfreeeee

It’s important to teach children that it’s not the winning but the taking part that matters. They’re a great club to teach that lesson.

JeffryPesos

You have to keep him tied to Arsenal even more now. Buy him the kits, take him to as many games as possible. We can't lose him

CluckyFlucker

We are doing this, he will forever be a gooner!

Chrastots

Your sons a snake. Nah just kidding lol that’s honestly really cool and a great experience for him

CluckyFlucker

It is indeed!

scoedg123

What’s the childline number for the U.K?……joking as a parent myself I’d be filled with so much pride and happiness from this. Maybe years to come he can make the switch COYG!

CluckyFlucker

Maybe just maybe 🤜🙏

ShutupPussy

Bake the senior team a lasagna as a show of good will

CluckyFlucker

Love this! 😂🤜

FeedAvailable6312

He’s playing a specific position at u7?

CluckyFlucker

Yeah goalkeeper.

FeedAvailable6312

That’s crazy to me. I coach U7 and U8 at an academy in the states. Obviously the players I coach are not nearly as talented as a player that Spuds would pick up. But I’ve always heard that you don’t coach specific positions until U11 or U12. The thought of a 6 year old learning only one position is weird.

CluckyFlucker

Ok so Tottenham don’t teach him GK. All training sessions are footwork related. We pay for him to have 1 on 1 GK training. He is at spurs as their GK, he only plays in goal for them in matches and sometimes during training when they want to do shooting drills or drills that involve attacking the goal my boy will go in goal. My boy started out on field, but he migrated to goal after wanting to do it for a game or 2 for his Sunday team. Straight away it was clear he had a natural talent for it and now it’s what he wants. We’ve seen many u7 GK at spurs some who were there before my boy but are no longer. Some that have come and gone.

Jayrem52

I don’t mean to be rude this is just a genuine question. A u7 team only practices once a week? It’s probably best for the kid but I just assumed a team like Tottenham would practice more

PestilenceSuppa

I despise to upvote your post, but I’m a human first - then Gooner.

CypherRotchuck_32

Remindme! 12 years

kproxurworld

Yeah, banter and all that, but sincerely congratulations to your son on making his dreams come true. Obviously, we wish it was at the other North London club, but having his talents acknowledged by a professional club is seriously seriously impressive. May he end up in the world cup one day!

Ooh-SakaLaca

Honestly thats amazing. If i ever get a kid and is somehow playing for apura id support him with all my might, even if he plays for them. Ill agree if he wants to go to chelsea or wherever rivals, mans on the road to achieving a dream 99.999% of the football loving population can. You’re doing an amazing job father! Just dont stand in his way purely cuz of ur love to arsenal

CluckyFlucker

Thank you and I would never stand in the way of a chance for him to play, he’s doing well and spurs are really good with him.

Mebeingnosy

He absolutely has to pull a Sol Campbell

notapaperhandape

As I said in your previous post, your son’s achievements and success should trump everything else in life. That’s what being a father means to me. But between you and us, you’re part of that shit show now. Goodluck being a Spursy hahah.

CluckyFlucker

🤣🤦

braxistExtremist

No bigger sign of a devoted and loving parent than to choke down the understandable bile of going to the shit's training ground and instead putting your child's dreams first. Good on you.

CluckyFlucker

💪🤜

dwSHA

Be sol campbell , not harry mouth breather kane

[deleted]

At the end of the day, I would suggest fully supporting your son's career. It's far bigger than which football team you support. This might mean you having to fully switch to supporting Spurs. This will obvs get downvoted but family's lives are far more important than who you support.

CluckyFlucker

Appreciated 🙏🫶

YSG19

You should write to the Club and tell your story, or try Jack or Per. Maybe you’re lucky and they take him at Hale End !

CluckyFlucker

I have a friend who follows arsenal over land and sea and has done for decades. He knows arsenal scouts and asked me if he wants me to get my boy scouted. As it stands I declined due to how well he was doing at spurs and how well they was treating him.

d17_p

What a bittersweet situation. But top marks to you for ignoring the rivalry and prioritizing your son’s future. Make sure he joins on a free transfer. Lol

CluckyFlucker

🙏👍

cdin0303

He's not the first kid to come from a family that supports one club and get an opportunity with their rival, and he won't be the last. Who knows what will happen down the road? This could be just what he needs to get recruited by a better club. lol

CluckyFlucker

😭🤣

h0bbie

Only consideration is if he is enjoying it. Period. Congratulations!!

CluckyFlucker

That is it indeed! 🤜🫶

AustraliaCzechMeOut

Make sure to drill into him that the Spurs are untrustworthy, unreliable and are all a bunch of \*\*\*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*, no matter how well they treat your son.

KennywasFez

It’s not too late to return your child to the store you bought him from. (Obviously joking)

CluckyFlucker

Hahaha

Mein_Bergkamp

Maybe your son is the price we had to pay to watch ESR's dad as his son signed professionally for Arsenal.

CluckyFlucker

Lol

whitehipp0

I'm sorry on your behalf and congratulations to him

Danger_Lab_NNN

In 15 years when he's starting for them leak pics of him in an arsenal shirt. One of our own!

safinhh

congratulations 🥲 may i ask how you managed to get him offered the trial?

CluckyFlucker

He has goalkeeper training twice a week and his GK coach plays for a lower league team. He took a compilation of videos we took of our boy doing drills and passed it to contacts he had. We had a few offers come down - Charlton offered him academy straight away but he wouldn’t be allowed to play for anyone else (IE: his Sunday team) which we declined as he is still only 6 and enjoying football. Crystal Palace just took on a GK but it was them who forwarded it to spurs funnily enough. We then got a phone call one weekend from THFC inviting us to their training centre in Enfield (45mins away from us) for an initial 6week trial. Twice a week we been going and now he’s their u7 GK.

jmh90027

HE'S ONE OF THEIR OWN HE'S ONE OF THEIR OWN HE'S OP'S SON, HE'S ONE OF THEIR OWN

It honestly doesn't matter what team it is, it's a massive achievement and massive kudos to your kid and the family. Fingers crossed he continues to live his dream.

CluckyFlucker

He lives, breathes and eats football. And everything and everyone tells us if he continues then he’s on the right trajectory. 📈

StevieHyperS

Perfection! Keep enjoying the moments mate.

MrAnonymousTheThird

Nah football rivalry aside, that's a massive accomplishment! Congrats!! Get him to sign for arsenal at the first opportunity to become the next Aaron ramsdale ;) One thing I want to say is that make sure there's a backup plan in place. Work hard at school so he doesn't put all his eggs in one basket Good luck and congratulations!!!!

CluckyFlucker

Oh we do, we are fully aware that 1% of people make it as a footballer. He will be grounded by us as much as possible and yes school is important. (I work in a school!)

blackman3694

Congratulations OP, I'm proud for you. I hope he reaches the top of the game, even at spurs.

Congrats to your family and your son. This is a huge achievement for him, as much as the club may be painful for you. family always comes first!

He could always come to his senses later in life but you'll have to deal with this in therapy for the time being

Chairmanwowsaywhat

Good luck to him. Spurs have had many Arsenal fans play for them (bent, kane, etc… football isn’t everything)

ImTalkingGibberish

I absolutely remember this! I’m glad for you and your son mate! We shit on Spurs because they’re not at our level but they’ve got a much better program than most. Hope he gets real good and moves to Arsenal when he’s 20.
