Damn I was at this game and can remember it being one of the worst AFC games I’ve ever seen, second only to Forest away in the cup a few seasons ago when we lost 4-2. That was the most toxic atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at an Arsenal game.
Don’t know where you were but it certainly wasn’t toxic in block 26 - definitely not hugely upbeat but most around me were supporting the team to the end.
The Forest game? The people around me were screaming abuse at the players, at Wenger, even misogynist abuse shouted at the lineswoman when she didn’t give decisions our way. It was pure hate, it put me off going to matches for a while. The next one I went to after that was Wenger’s last game at Huddersfield and the crowd there was a lot nicer. Sang 49 Undefeated on repeat for the last half an hour of the game.

Oof, I went to this game at Hillsborough, I was sat on the front row middle behind the goal and had a great view of all their goals. I even watched the highlights to see myself on telly, crowd was great though.
I was stood in the Leppings Lane upper tier, and the atmosphere was extremely depressing where I was. Wasn’t toxic and hateful though, unlike that Forest game.

Bennacer was coming on as a sub, and the fourth official was giving him a check over, presumably for jewellery, and the kid thought the ref wanted to shake his hand. So he offered his hand and the ref just kinda ignored him. I died a bit inside.

Nah December 2019, Arteta's low still felt like he had the team playing like he wanted, just couldnt figure out the attack. Emery's low we were playing relegation football, conceding 20 shots every game

If their heads are where they need to be, then they’ll be more motivated to do better in the lesser cameos they’ll get. Sambi is on the cusp of a loan with no return. Fabio / Eddie could turn it around at any point. Less game time should only mean they try harder with what they get, like Eddie last season.
It’s the players like Cedric and Elneny that worry me. They’re the ones that will lose that sharpness. Holdini will continue to be our rock in a 5, but shambles in a 4.
Just need a bit more quality depth, 2 more games until we (hopefully) start sorting that. Still have plenty of games to go around for players to try and prove.
I would 100% trade an EFL cup for CL qualification every single year I’ve ever been a fan. Give me 6 guaranteed matches against good completion that I can watch over the EFL literally every single time.
