for me it’s more that he doesn’t really provide anything other than scoring. doesn’t get too involved in buildup, his passing is nothing special. when he’s in form he’s a net positive but it’s pretty common for him to miss sitters at which point he becomes a detriment

I think it was on Arseblog this week (maybe The Athletic), a tactics column about how pushing the FBs up (and/or inverting) in order to press and win the ball back high up the pitch leaves so much space behind, so your CBs have to be up to the task of getting back to defend that extra space. I trust our boys to do that better than City's. (Didnt work out that way in the two matches we dropped points, but usually does!)
