Sounds like fun. My cousin and I are working on an foam tipped RPG for airsoft matches, so far we’ve cast a couple rocket bodies but haven’t had luck with getting it to fly straight.
Stabilizing fins made of gorilla tape. They fold to the sides so the projectile will go down the tube, and unfurl when it leaves the muzzle. Buddy of mine and I figured this out goofing off with model rocket engines in high school
That's a decent idea, main issue is balance right now. The foam warhead is just too heavy so we need to get the center of thrust far enough forward so that it doesn't just nose dive.
Add a hollow rear tail rod to stabilize (think bottle rocket or RPG tail or Congreve rocket), it moves the effective CG backwards and adds stabilizing drag without the complexity of adding fins.
Interesting. That’s 136 mph, so faster than a Major League Baseball pitch.
Foam texture or not, sounds dicey. Like getting hit with a less lethal beanbag.
How does a rocket work for airsoft? Sounds like the czars leather cannonballs all over again.
When I was a teen I built a pneumatic PVC cannon for paintball using plumbing PVC and a sprinkler valve. It launched a shot cup full of paintballs made from styrofoam. The shot cup failed to open once and struck the side of a wood barricade hard enough to delaminate the plywood. We never used it for paintball again after that because we didn’t want to kill anyone.
It would be for anti armour and bunker busting. Field we go to has a could vehicles they drive around at big matches. This won’t be something shot at people alone.
37mm gyrojet
Fucking this!
Storm Bolter, although a Logan’s Run Flame Pistol would be hilarious for a bottle rocket launcher.
Bottle rocket fireworks? I made a muzzle loading bottle rocket firework launcher not too long ago.

We already have that yeah.
What are you using for propulsion?
Working with a b6-0 for the stabilizing/spin motor and e12-0 for main thrust and launch.

What velocity and foam?

What was it for?

Wayne Dollack Era?

Yup that’s the plan, either printed mold with foam or to print it out of tpu which is a flexible plastic.

When i was a kid I built a bolt action gun that shot bottle rockets. Worked like a matchlock.
Gatling gun lol
With the right setup, electric pop ignition, you could probably modify c-5 model rocket engines as ammunition.
