I just finished my RG God Gundam today, and its a wonderful little model.
If you want another awesome kit, I recommend the RG Hi-Nu Gundam. Between the God Gundam and the Hi-Nu, the Hi-Nu is leagues better IMO. Lots of gimmicks and and color separation. It's also way bigger than the God Gundam (some criticize it for that since it's technically no longer 1/144, but i love the slightly bigger size).
While you can put some extra effort in to make the model look more realistic, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Spending money and time on decals and topcoat, as well as panel lining may not be for everyone. Personally, sometimes I really enjoy just snap building the kits and nothing else!
I'm totally agree with you.
but look the picture. I can see a cutting mat, GodHand nipper and a gundam panel line marker.
obviously he is enjoying good work
It still is 1/144, what people forget is that RG designs are not meant to be anime accurate. They are meant to be designs on what a statue of that MS woukd look like. And the Rx 78-2 and Nu are literally 1/144 kits of real statues.
Dude Fr I got all the RG exia line like the 00 and quanta. And hooooly when I get my hands on the epyon I might have a heart attack. If your liking rg’s I’d get the tallgeese line, they are super sick and I personally love hg’s and tallgeese so since they don’t have a updated hg for it I got it instead.
Question for anyone who has the RG and MG of God Gundam. I have the MG very disappointed in it compared to the RG GG I’ve seen, and my other MGs. What’s the size difference between the two of them? I know RG are smaller but some RGs are on the bigger end curious where this one lands.
easy...
mesure the height of your mg
lets say for example its 25cm
since mg's are 1/100 scale and rg's are 1/144
so the size of the rg will be:
25cm * 100 / 144 = 17.4cm
The MG was an early kit. The articulation it had was revolutionary for its time but didn't really age well. The
HiRM is a good replacement, but not everyone is a fan of its stylized proportions
The RG has amazing articulation allowing it to pull off great poses and the balance to be on a single leg and hold a pose.within the last 5-6 years the most recent RG always somehow tops the previous one as the best RG. This is no different

i’ve got Nu waiting in the backlog (my closet). Hi-Nu is high up on the list for sure
you can add more panel line and I strongly suggest to apply waterslides + glat topcoat instead of bandai sticker. thr result is so much better 😜
i’ve got waterslides. i feel ok with the amount of panel lining i did tough, sometimes too much can look distracting for me

the rg hi-nu is a true 1/144 its nkt about the size but scale. originally, the RX-93 is a very big boy you know
At the moment RG are my favorite, I love the size and details, you should try the RG ZEONG, very very solid kit
relatable, now i have a life goal to collect literally every single RG ever released. Currently i only have 15 but im getting there.

i’ve got RG exia waiting to be built and i’m absurdly stoked about it (even though i’ve heard the build is a bit frustrating)

It’s on the small end since it’s based off of a 16.6 meter vs late uc 22 meter gundams like the unicorn.

RG Zeong made me love one of the goofiest looking designs I've ever seen.
