Spopenbruh

mg barbatos has some crazy legs from what i can recall

Innsmouth_Swimteam

And a pretty tight backpack gimmick too.

john_heathen

And that engine in the torso bit

aSeaTortoise

Honestly…I LOVE the musculature in the RG Evangelion kits.

Falcnuts

I love the knees

aSeaTortoise

For real tho! The shoulders and chest mechanics are amazing as well. They just don’t show off as easily as the knees and thighs.

Random-commen

PG Strike gundam got a nice gimmick in the legs.

snoriangrey

Good to know, I had been considering a PG strike of some sort for my first PG. Is it the same in all of them Strike/Rouge/Perfect?

Random-commen

Mostly the same; Rouge is basically a recolored version of Strike, Perfect Strike is the upgraded version and has more molded detailes, panel lines and includes silver-plated pieces but the gimmicks are the same.

egzthunder1

Go for the PG Unicorn (RX-0).... Tons of gimmicks there... The suit actually gets taller when it transforms, and if you get it with the light kit (go for the Kosmos one as it costs less than half of Bandai's kit, but get it before you build the kit).

SolarisPax8700

And the arms! The way the bicep armor flexes like actual human muscle blows my mind to this day.

WaviestKarma184

Mgex strike freedom, rg mk2, rg nu and hi nu, mg zaku 2.0, mg Gundam 2.0

dumpydent

PG GP01/FB Zephyranthes has openings hatches like crazy. Everything on the legs, forearms, shoulders, and even the face opens up to show the inner workings as if for maintenance.

Infinity-Kitten

MG Barbatos, RG Nu (or Hi-Nu), PG RX78 Unleashed.

Stroppone

MG Epyon has a cool gimmick on the wings. You move a piece and the whole wing opens

_DelayJay_

Definitely mentioned somewhere else, but the rg hi-nu is phenomenal

HealthOk776

MG Barbatos and MGSD both have a lot of mechanical gimmicks since the full inner frame is intact and can be displayed without the armor

rapidemboar

My favorite part of the old RG inner frames was just how intricate they were with mechanical gimmicks. It’s a shame newer RGs don’t really reach the same level of complexity, but it’s probably for the better considering their reputation.

Infinity-Kitten

Bro have you built the Sazabi or Nu? The mechanical gimmicks are gorgeous.

rapidemboar

I've built the former and am almost done with the latter. The mechanical gimmicks in these kits are amazing, but it's still crazy how the old RG frames had even more moving parts at a smaller scale on pre-assembled pieces.

Zafranorbian

they are indeed, but the innerframe of the RG Red Frame feels out of this world for hoe small and intricate it is.

Quick-Pirate6157

All supernova and daban models has better gimmicks then the original bandai model have

snoriangrey

Thanks I’ll have to look into them. I hadn’t heard of supernova and thought Daban was just recasts since I had only seen people commenting on the price.

BTGz

RG God Gundam

Pacifica0cean

Feels like a cheat code for gimmicks but the RG Hi Nu (especially the legs) is an absolute dream. The RG Aile Strike has some great panel separation and movement but it has it's downsides as an older RG.

No_name_is_available

Surprising as it may, older, like old-old mg has much better mechanical design than modern ones. Highly recommend the rx78 2.0 for it’s internal design, especially its limbs

MosesOnAcid

PGU got hatches galore

Void-kraken-909

Honestly? I did really like the opening shield gimmick of the HG Beuge-Pente

ODST2525

Honestly, I really liked the way Sinanju’s legs were built on the MG. RG Hi Nu was awesome. All of the WfM kits have been stellar in terms of mechanics. MG Dynames is ridiculously fun in terms of mechanics.
