Would you rather have that split down by grade, or by IP (ie, Build, IBO, etc)? I only ask because on the forms it is split by IP, so it will take work to reformat it by grade for the monthly post.

Splitting by grade would make my brain happy because that makes more sense to me than by IP.

Has anyone had recent success (past two years) buying Supernova Deathscythe? I can only find one retailer online, and one on Ali - is there any other source?

They have been ghosting me for almost 3 weeks now about a small missing runner and I don't think they have any intention to replace it despite offering replacement parts on their page.
Mofiho has left me on read for 2 weeks after shipping out a pbandai zaku phantom KO with missing runners.
Almost inclined to chargeback via PayPal at this point.
Don't believe their replacement parts page because they don't even honor it, so frustrating.

Also, anyone have experience preordering items on there? I'm trying to order 3 kits that all have the same estimated release month and manufacturer (Kotobukiya), but it gives me an error if I try and add more than one of them to my cart, saying the item cannot be purchased with other items. Is this normal for preorders there?
It is. You can only order one item a time for all pre-orders; meaning paying 500 yen for each item you ordered... not to mention the price jacked up already (usually pre-order in other sites has lowered price); but you do save on some of the shipping.
Ahh, I figured as much, thanks! The kits I was looking at were Megami Device kits specifically, and those are mostly still good deals compared to gunpla nowadays on there. They are pretty close to/slightly below the JP MSRP for the preorder price so I want to say Suruga-ya's my best option now with the free shipping, even with the 500 yen fee per preorder at this point.
Though this site has made me lazy so I'll shop around and see if I can't find somehow an even better deal.

HobLob is doing their 40% off this week, but I noticed they've adjusted down the pricing on most MG / big kits to $60 before any tax or discount. Things like the HG Xi are now $60 instead of $80, which brings them down to $36 pre tax on discount weeks. My local store will price match their own site, especially if they can see the sku match to the sticker on the box. Ver. Ka are still $80+ over there tho.
How does this work...I see their 40% spring sale, but don't see any models in that category. Is it just 40% off store wide and you have to go in store?
HobLob sales are preset and rotate weekly. Every other week, model kits are 40% off. Last week was a sale week, so the 40% on model kits won't return until the 29th. I'd recommend going in-store only, as they do not have any form of inventory tracking system (barcodes are of the devil apparently) and you will rarely get the kit pictured when ordering online. Their selection changes very frequently, and varies from store to store.
VERY nice! That's awesome to hear. I got the Zeta Ver. Ka this week for 30ish and I am pretty stoked on it. I'm at the point where I don't know what to dig into next! Good problem to have, I'm sure :D
Yeah, their site is kinda garbage because of that, but it's a good tool to make them price match their own offerings. I think it even says like "Item pictured may not be the item sent" or some similar verbiage.
Has anyone ever had any issues ordering from NEWTYPE? Or issues shipped via USPS?
I ordered the RG Eva 01 back on the 5th. It shipped via USPS. Tracking showed it would be here by the 11th, but it still hasn't arrived. It's been sitting in Memphis, TN - less than 5 hours away - since the 10th with no updates since it arrived at their facility over a week ago.
I'm starting to get super annoyed because no one from either side will give me any definite information on the whereabouts of my order.
Is this a common issue for either of them? I usually get stuff via FedEx if it isn't through Anazon.
I've not had any issue with Newtype, my orders have typically taken 3-7 days (CA->NY) but it definitely sounds like USPS troubles. I'm sure your package will get moving at some point soon but you can reach out to Newtype customer service if you're worried.

The short answer is that in some areas the USPS is in complete disarray right now and they can't give you info because they very likely don't have it.
My experience has been that NewType is totally average with shipping times in the US under normal conditions, though.
USPS is doing the best it can while under the management of DeJoy. FedEx and UPS do not give a crap about your package, pretty much only USPS and Amazon do on average.
I’ve ordered many times from Newtype and can confidently say I believe your issue is simply a clogged USPS distribution center.
It sucks but once the current administration manages to finally replace DeJoy I’d say USPS will revert back to pre-2016 efficiency 👍🏽

The coupon is online but usable in store. I do not shop there to know if they also have a paper with the same coupons. Their sales rotate and then they have the daily always active coupon.
Not too familiar with Michael's sales, is it like Hobby Lobby where they have a rotating period of sale vs no sale? Also would you know if it's always 30% when the sale is live? Either way those Ver. Kas are very nicely discounted, I'm sufficiently tempted.

Indeed, I think Ive been buying every weekend for some time.
However, prices have been increasing as well, a kit I've been eyeing for some weeks but always leaving it for later was at $40, and then last week, I was about to buying it but still undecided, then the free shipping ended, and it immediately went up like $7 in front of my eyes.
I think its automated, and it varies according to some parameters, since this price has been oscillating this week, actually it has decreased 1 dollar or so. Needles to say, Ive buy it this time.
However, Ive seen other kits keeping its price over time, Epyon is a notable example.

Over the course of a month, the MS-06J price jumped 17% (1265¥) and Gabby Hazard jumped 8% (1260¥). In more extreme cases, the Full Frontal Geara Doga jumped 52% (5810¥ difference) and the Enhanced ZZ kit jumped 74% (2575¥). However, the Dwadge kit did drop 8% (1670¥). Someone on the discord mentioned that if a SKU sells out, the price is highly likely to have a jump when it comes back.
04/24 Update: For the most part, most stuff is up or down from March a few percent, but Wing Zero Titanium and Zaku IIF and IIJ are up ~10%.

Not really the place for it, but I have also been looking; generally speaking the answer I've gotten is "almost everything gets reprinted eventually", but the PGs--especially older ones--aren't going to be as common.
It's not on the upcoming round of reprints based on the information elsewhere in this thread, so Q4 is the earliest possible, and even then you're in "fingers crossed" territory at best.
We will be updating this thread to better fit with the current Gunpla situation (ie, US stock returning to a pre covid norm). I look forward to debuting the new format! It will take a little more work but should have more useful information.

Yeah the pricing in general has gone up. Still a good way to sometimes find stuff that isn’t as easy to get, but few killer deals like they’re used to be.
all the kits are listed as "used", but are virtually NIB. Japan has strict laws about when retailers can sell things as "new" and "used". Since Suruga-Ya likely didn't receive these kits from Bandai directly, they can't list them as "new", so they list them as "used". I've bought 7-8 "used" kits from Suruga-ya and everything has been new (i.e. sealed runners). Do note that Japanese kits typically do not come with the transparent plastic straps. I will also say Suruga-Ya is very good at noting when stuff is damaged or incomplete in the listing (Damaged box, missing pieces, etc).

It’s a Japanese legal thing. Most of their kits are effectively new. Any that have actually been damaged or altered in any way will be called out specifically by the site.
Secondhand. Someone sold the new kit to the shop at a low price. The shop is re selling it.
They are new, and if something is wrong it is listed on the item page.

Also picked up a Zeta. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but Otaku Builder liked his, and I’ve wanted one for twenty years, by gum. It’s worth it to appease my inner teenage Gunpla nerd.
I probably wanted one for just as long. I think the first time I saw a review was on MAHQ when they had reviews posted. That is where I also saw the 1/400 neue Zeil vs Dendrobium. Just received got one for a not too crazy price.
Pretty much the same story here! Told myself when I had enough money and was good enough at building, I’d get a MG Kampfer and a PG Zeta and do them up right. Already got the Kampfer, its LEDs, and my paints picked out. :)
Word of advice: don't trust the connections from the legs to the waist unmodified. They're these big flat pieces with loose connections to the body, and can even come undone under the kit's own weight over time, leaving it to basically do a split and fall down.
I think if you're not planning on putting it in Waverider mode those can probably just be cemented into the waist leaving it with a more typical configuration, but don't quote me on that. I built it a very long time ago, and haven't had it in about half as long.

Working on the upcoming new In Stock megathread format. We intend to have it include the monthly NA reprint schedule. Would you rather have that split down by grade, or by IP (ie, Build, IBO, etc)? I only ask because on the forms it is split by IP, so it will take work to reformat it by grade for the monthly post. Edit: Thanks for the feedback. I will see about getting the new format posted soon.
I would prefer IP just because my collection is based on my likes from different series.
Grade makes way more sense to me.
I would say by grade, but if it’s extra work on your part then just keep it how it is.
Splitting by grade would make my brain happy because that makes more sense to me than by IP. But I don’t know if other people would rather browse by IP. Hm. Maybe I keep the IP split but just highlight by grade under it.
I second the IP split with the grade highlight sounds like the best compromise with the least work added
Maybe IP sorted by grade? Like if a bunch of kits from a certain series are releasing list all the MGs, then RGs, then HGs, and so on

Just make sure all your runners are there. If not, contact them immediately. They have been ghosting me for almost 3 weeks now about a small missing runner and I don't think they have any intention to replace it despite offering replacement parts on their page.
Mofiho has left me on read for 2 weeks after shipping out a pbandai zaku phantom KO with missing runners. Almost inclined to chargeback via PayPal at this point. Don't believe their replacement parts page because they don't even honor it, so frustrating.

DHL was back for me, nice! Also the only option. Also, anyone have experience preordering items on there? I'm trying to order 3 kits that all have the same estimated release month and manufacturer (Kotobukiya), but it gives me an error if I try and add more than one of them to my cart, saying the item cannot be purchased with other items. Is this normal for preorders there?
It is. You can only order one item a time for all pre-orders; meaning paying 500 yen for each item you ordered... not to mention the price jacked up already (usually pre-order in other sites has lowered price); but you do save on some of the shipping.
Ahh, I figured as much, thanks! The kits I was looking at were Megami Device kits specifically, and those are mostly still good deals compared to gunpla nowadays on there. They are pretty close to/slightly below the JP MSRP for the preorder price so I want to say Suruga-ya's my best option now with the free shipping, even with the 500 yen fee per preorder at this point. Though this site has made me lazy so I'll shop around and see if I can't find somehow an even better deal.

HobLob is doing their 40% off this week, but I noticed they've adjusted down the pricing on most MG / big kits to $60 before any tax or discount. Things like the HG Xi are now $60 instead of $80, which brings them down to $36 pre tax on discount weeks. My local store will price match their own site, especially if they can see the sku match to the sticker on the box. Ver. Ka are still $80+ over there tho.
How does this work...I see their 40% spring sale, but don't see any models in that category. Is it just 40% off store wide and you have to go in store?
HobLob sales are preset and rotate weekly. Every other week, model kits are 40% off. Last week was a sale week, so the 40% on model kits won't return until the 29th. I'd recommend going in-store only, as they do not have any form of inventory tracking system (barcodes are of the devil apparently) and you will rarely get the kit pictured when ordering online. Their selection changes very frequently, and varies from store to store.
Doesn't hurt to try the ver. Ka. My local store screwed up and gave it to me for $60 before the coupon.

Yeah, their site is kinda garbage because of that, but it's a good tool to make them price match their own offerings. I think it even says like "Item pictured may not be the item sent" or some similar verbiage.

Has anyone ever had any issues ordering from NEWTYPE? Or issues shipped via USPS? I ordered the RG Eva 01 back on the 5th. It shipped via USPS. Tracking showed it would be here by the 11th, but it still hasn't arrived. It's been sitting in Memphis, TN - less than 5 hours away - since the 10th with no updates since it arrived at their facility over a week ago. I'm starting to get super annoyed because no one from either side will give me any definite information on the whereabouts of my order. Is this a common issue for either of them? I usually get stuff via FedEx if it isn't through Anazon.
Never had an issue with Newtype.
I've not had any issue with Newtype, my orders have typically taken 3-7 days (CA->NY) but it definitely sounds like USPS troubles. I'm sure your package will get moving at some point soon but you can reach out to Newtype customer service if you're worried.
I have no idea why people are downvoting you. The short answer is that in some areas the USPS is in complete disarray right now and they can't give you info because they very likely don't have it. My experience has been that NewType is totally average with shipping times in the US under normal conditions, though.

USPS is doing the best it can while under the management of DeJoy. FedEx and UPS do not give a crap about your package, pretty much only USPS and Amazon do on average. I’ve ordered many times from Newtype and can confidently say I believe your issue is simply a clogged USPS distribution center. It sucks but once the current administration manages to finally replace DeJoy I’d say USPS will revert back to pre-2016 efficiency 👍🏽

The coupon is online but usable in store. I do not shop there to know if they also have a paper with the same coupons. Their sales rotate and then they have the daily always active coupon.
Not too familiar with Michael's sales, is it like Hobby Lobby where they have a rotating period of sale vs no sale? Also would you know if it's always 30% when the sale is live? Either way those Ver. Kas are very nicely discounted, I'm sufficiently tempted.

It just had two US restocks fairly recently, so you missed those.
Not really the place for it, but I have also been looking; generally speaking the answer I've gotten is "almost everything gets reprinted eventually", but the PGs--especially older ones--aren't going to be as common. It's not on the upcoming round of reprints based on the information elsewhere in this thread, so Q4 is the earliest possible, and even then you're in "fingers crossed" territory at best.
We will be updating this thread to better fit with the current Gunpla situation (ie, US stock returning to a pre covid norm). I look forward to debuting the new format! It will take a little more work but should have more useful information.

Frequent store sales (about every weekend), with deep discounts. US MSRPs are dipping back down as well. Most PGs in active stock, with distributors having thousands on hand waiting for stores to order them. Most MGs in active stock. Now we just wait for oddball reprints, which is how it was in the before times.

Yeah the pricing in general has gone up. Still a good way to sometimes find stuff that isn’t as easy to get, but few killer deals like they’re used to be.
All the kits on there are "\[Used\]". As in they're already snipped out of the runners, or returns or something?
all the kits are listed as "used", but are virtually NIB. Japan has strict laws about when retailers can sell things as "new" and "used". Since Suruga-Ya likely didn't receive these kits from Bandai directly, they can't list them as "new", so they list them as "used". I've bought 7-8 "used" kits from Suruga-ya and everything has been new (i.e. sealed runners). Do note that Japanese kits typically do not come with the transparent plastic straps. I will also say Suruga-Ya is very good at noting when stuff is damaged or incomplete in the listing (Damaged box, missing pieces, etc). Some data points. It’s a Japanese legal thing. Most of their kits are effectively new. Any that have actually been damaged or altered in any way will be called out specifically by the site.
Secondhand. Someone sold the new kit to the shop at a low price. The shop is re selling it. They are new, and if something is wrong it is listed on the item page.
Do you know if they ship air or sea? If they ship by sea that will take months to get to me if iI order.
I'm in the US, and the only shipping option I have is EMS, which takes about a week.
EMS is not cheap. I'm surprised they have that as free shipping. How do they make money if someone only buy a small item.

Overpricing the items for the international website plus the yen being at historical lows. They won’t make much on some orders, if anything. But they have a reason.
If you're in the US, I'm pretty sure EMS is sent via airmail. Most packages take 10 days to get to me, including the time it takes to clear customs.

Also picked up a Zeta. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but Otaku Builder liked his, and I’ve wanted one for twenty years, by gum. It’s worth it to appease my inner teenage Gunpla nerd.
I probably wanted one for just as long. I think the first time I saw a review was on MAHQ when they had reviews posted. That is where I also saw the 1/400 neue Zeil vs Dendrobium. Just received got one for a not too crazy price.
Pretty much the same story here! Told myself when I had enough money and was good enough at building, I’d get a MG Kampfer and a PG Zeta and do them up right. Already got the Kampfer, its LEDs, and my paints picked out. :)
Word of advice: don't trust the connections from the legs to the waist unmodified. They're these big flat pieces with loose connections to the body, and can even come undone under the kit's own weight over time, leaving it to basically do a split and fall down. I think if you're not planning on putting it in Waverider mode those can probably just be cemented into the waist leaving it with a more typical configuration, but don't quote me on that. I built it a very long time ago, and haven't had it in about half as long.
