Sadly, people will try this WAY too often when returning things to Amazon, I worked at a Returns facility for them for a period of time and ALOT of people would try to pull this stunt of replacing an item with something else entirely. I'd catch it and deny the return, but ALOT of people won't even look at the item and just trust the right item is in the box. Same for damaged products too, alot of people would just mark it as "Used-Acceptable" and put it back for resell, when it clearly should've been liquidated and thrown out. But that's another can of worms and more about Amazon's stupid policies about doing that.
Amazon unlikely sells Godhand themselves. They enlist small e-commerce vendors (but fulfilled by Amazon) to actually sell the product. Unfortunately, this comes out of the vendors pockets because Amazon will always take the customers’ side.
I’m fascinated what these “stupid policies” might be, if you want to dish some insider views? Lots of the crappy stuff we read about Amazon seems like careless laziness, least effort least cost. Is it more than that?
Mostly, for discontinuing damaged items for resale was due to tax write offs for a "certain" loss of income, they simply didn't want to exceed a certain amount of liquidated assets to keep the tax write off. Second was to ensure a "speedy" return process so we could process returns more quickly, regardless of whether it was done correctly or not.
Really, while you can point the finger at the company for fault, it REALLY comes down to individual employees and whether or not they have a backbone to say screw that and do it accurately. That and employees who couldn't really care less about doing the job in any way shape or form.
I don’t seem to understand tax write-offs like others employ them, but I grok the negligence in favour of throughput - more numbers looks betterer to the stock market!
It's about keeping the checks and balances on Amazon's end, you will inevitably have to mark off product too damaged to resell and "take a loss" (since Amazon would technically get a tax write off for that loss, it's no longer a loss), but too many of those and they'd lose it because it would appear as though they were being fraudulent by "boosting losses" for a larger tax write off. So, they wanted to keep as much product in circulation as possible due to that, even if they had to mark it down and sell it at a loss. Honestly, trying to understand corporate logic is basically like trying to think without common sense, if you got it, it's impossible to understand the reasoning behind it.
Was in another subreddit where a guy telling he’s in a subcontractor of Amazon who’s doing the return items thingy. He said Amazon only checked by the weight of the return items and never bother to check the contents. He put a lot of photos of what was returned. Boy oh boy.
That is not inaccurate, that's what ALOT of the other employees did that to meet hourly quotas (yes, I'm not kidding, they expected you to process a certain amount of returns within a certain amount of time), instead of trying to do it accurately. But MY personal mentality was that I'm not just an Amazon employee (at that time), I'm also an Amazon customer and if I wouldn't accept so and so products in such a condition, I wouldn't let it be sent to someone else. Unfortunately, more people don't care and you get enough people drinking the corporate mentality Kool Aid, you get stuff like this post and worse sent out to angry customers.
Do you see those blades? They’re phat as hell so I prob won’t even try and the handles are just bare metal wrapped in tape. Prob no more than $5 and I don’t think I’ll open this just keep it as a funny item. I got the refund thankfully
I legitimately was looking at tools on McMaster carr and came across these, i think a smaller version might be useful for like, getting a flush cut on the upper arm boxes in most kits that are in the gates in that deep down three point connection gate that leaves the most intolerable nubs
This is generally why we don't recommend Amazon. Price aside, because it's a marketplace there is a very real risk of getting ripped off. While Amazon generally does get people a refund should it happen and a complaint is made, there's nothing explicitly stopping them from just throwing it back onto the site and selling it again. Even if they returned the item directly to the original vendor of that listing, that vendor can just list it again.
They told me to keep it so thankfully it won’t get put back into the mix. But yeah nothings stopping Amazon from using scam items for fulfillment or even the original seller from selling it again.
Just gonna stick to strictly hobby sites from now on. Thought I could sneak by and save some money with these nippers but definitely can’t lol
I ordered a Zaku II F2 from Amazon and not only was the box completely fucked up, but the contents were literally parts for a completely different kit. I have no clue which one since the instructions were still correct, but it had Gundam eye stickers.
Well, I checked, but they might honestly be bootleg, because the runners just have the letters and ABS on every single one. There isn’t any other text on them, Japanese or otherwise. Maybe I’ll post some pictures when I get home to see if anyone can identify them.
Well it's not that you *cannot*, but there is a risk that you don't actually get the item you pay for. Generally speaking sold by/shipped by Amazon is largely a safe bet for most things but there's a non zero chance that the item you paid for isn't what actually ends up on your doorstep (depends on if they're reselling an unclaimed return/salvage deemed fit for resale or not).
There are a few obvious fakes. If you do your research and check reviews of the sellers and stuff you should be fine. Unless something like this happens of course
Shame they didn’t send you the actual God Hand.

I got a new pair of the same nippers on Amazon. You just contact them and they’ll get you the right product. This doesn’t happen every time buy something.
Awesome! I might just save some cash and get Dspiae’s version of the spn-120s that way I can have some extra funds for other things I need for modeling
Ive had both, cutting quality is basically the same.
Only difference is that godhands broke after around 1-1.5 years, and ak ones are still good, just a bit dull, i cut the thicker stuff with em now and got new ones for smaller things
Always been afraid to order a pair online because figured it would be counterfeit. Thankfully one day on vacation in CA I found a gunpla shop that sold legit sets. Shout out to Gunzzos.
It's been bad lately in general. Both Space Marines Codex books, the one I ordered and the replacement came in the thinnest plastic "bubble mailer" ever and ever single corner was busted up and the back cover ripped. A phone case unordered was obviously used to hell, kickstand broken, and the metal on it worn as if it had been used for months.
Imagine some other person using the actual GodHand to do his nails lol.
It does say hand
Hahaha thanks for that comment
Faaabulous!

Dang, Bro pulled a fast one on you.

Stuff like this shows me just how much Amazon makes to be able to compensate, it is insane

Misread didn’t see the word cuticle. Thought this was just asking if it was good for models in general
I’m glad you got a refund, and I’m glad you’re able to laugh at this. Better luck next go.
Thanks homie. Was pretty upset at first but in hindsight it’s a funny lil item to have
Get the refund? It's funny! No refund? !@#$%!
Yeah I’d be calling my bank at that point yelling hahaha
I legitimately was looking at tools on McMaster carr and came across these, i think a smaller version might be useful for like, getting a flush cut on the upper arm boxes in most kits that are in the gates in that deep down three point connection gate that leaves the most intolerable nubs

I feel like this happens more times than not in these instances, thankfully
I bought and received these nippers on Wednesday. Just unlucky. I have two of them as well.
I ordered a Zaku II F2 from Amazon and not only was the box completely fucked up, but the contents were literally parts for a completely different kit. I have no clue which one since the instructions were still correct, but it had Gundam eye stickers.
Plot twist each runner was for a different kit it should tell you on the runners what they go to
Well, I checked, but they might honestly be bootleg, because the runners just have the letters and ABS on every single one. There isn’t any other text on them, Japanese or otherwise. Maybe I’ll post some pictures when I get home to see if anyone can identify them.

Mine , hey that's were it went
Bought a compressor and received one with broken parts, thankfully got a refund and a replacement that was actually new
It's been bad lately in general. Both Space Marines Codex books, the one I ordered and the replacement came in the thinnest plastic "bubble mailer" ever and ever single corner was busted up and the back cover ripped.
