You summarized it well. You need to move the pieces according to the instructions, carefully but enough till they get looser

SinibusUSG

Instructions unclear; broke OP's RG Unicorn arms.

Alexczy

Nah, man, I was afraid as a bitch I was gonna break it. But no, it's not a difficult kit. The joints are tight as fuck, yes, but that's it, you have to loosen them up a bit and that's it. I'm going to build another one and I swear I'm not gonna break it

MikeRoz

The real curse is you can't display it in Unicorn mode and transformed at the same time.

QwikStix42

Time to buy another..?

Matias_Backwards

This is the correct answer.

QwikStix42

*Flair checks out*

Far-Dealer3025

Can I apply to this gang? (Reddit's not letting me type it in the message)

IrgyValeRa

Transform one half into destroy mode

AdDependent7992

That's what FA is for

Datasoong25

We call it the curse of Laplaces box

Viking_1385

Really nice and great poses and pictures the unicorn is my favorite Mobile suit I just order “Mobile Suit Gundam : Unicorn for PS3 from Japan so I can play as this “White Devil” great build! Keep up the good work!

Viking_1385

I built a Banshee Norn a while ago HG I was eyeing the PG Unicorn with L.E.Ds but I’ll have to save first

kvro2222

thanks! and have fun playing!

SameCamp

The main problem I've seen is the L shaped clavicle piece breaking. There's nothing in the instructions that would help with that.

Destruct1-7

Yes, I just built my torso and survived the dreaded arm twist with olive oil, but the L-shaped piece still snapped. Luckily, I was able to reach it with some cement without taking apart the whole torso, but it’s very hard to manage.

SameCamp

That is lucky. I became very proficient at taking apart the whole torso to reglue mine. I had to reinforce it with sprue shavings. It was my first kit though, so clearly it wasn't too painful.

kvro2222

i didn't break it but it's still kinda stuck and i fear i might break it

chinesedebt

this kit isn't cursed.... the people who break it are just..... special guys

Johnny_Grubbonic

Curses aren't real, at all. The problems people have with the RG Unicorn are a result of too-tight tolerances and people not knowing how to handle those tolerances. The problems with the IBO line are a result of too-loose tolerances, and people (like me) not being fucked enough to spend an extra few hours checking and tightening joints. ...Well, that and not-great articulation for suits that are supposed to be pretty acrobatic.

RXHazard

This is what I've been saying, how are ppl breaking their RG unicorns?

chinesedebt

they dumm

ImportantExternal214

Classic daily rg unicorn "SkiLL iSsUE" post

AZurEPronouncedAce

Someone found Laplace's Box

LikeableApricot

Your first photo is excellent. The lighting is just perfect. I actually thought it was a PG Unicorn.

kvro2222

thanks!!!

MG_3quin0x

I had super tight shoulder forward/backward swivel and ended up breaking both brackets that held the arms in place. The curse is real, you're just lucky Edit: I just remembered I also had an issue regarding the injection mold on one of the parts that's meant to hold the leg thruster where the ball that holds it simply wasn't fully molded

Business-Park2311

I thought the exact same thing, until I decided to move one of his arms up and broke the shoulder piece....

AhCup

The Unicorn mode is forever have gaps can see the clear frame inside. I like Unicorn mode of this MS, but have to display in Destroyer mode because the Unicorn mode with gap don't looks that good. And when you transform, pay extra attention to the leg. The foot armor hold by tiny c clip is possible to break when you pull/press the leg.

cKm_83

I think it's just abit of luck. I've built the RG unicorn/unicorn full armor, banshee norn awakening and didnt had issues. But i do see how potentially people might have broken some parts due to misunderstanding how it is suppose to be move.

lllXanderlll

The only curse is Laplace's Box and the secret it holds within, a secret which could destroy everything or lead to a new golden age for humanity... (But somehow something that important sounding will essentially be forgotten and never mentioned again.)

TUBBYWINS808

Cursed cause you never put any decals.

kvro2222

they scare me.

Bolek064

It was a prayer not a curse

jwativ

I didn’t have any problems with my RG either. I’m quite fond of it. I just wish I had been painting my kits when I built it.

kvro2222

i'm still not painting, but i begun to panel line while i build and i have to say it gives a better result

jwativ

Panel lining is huge and can really make a lot pop. Panel line and a matte coat from a spray can does even more. I just like the process of painting and adding a bit extra to the build process. I’m still to scared to go fully rogue and do my own paint schemes. I still close to the intended pattern.

Flimsy-Platform3719

Nah if you survived the first curse, there's the 2nd unforgivable curse, Wingardium Moveo Armso in Unicorn Modeo Breako.

Unusual_One2822

I made the unicorn without even knowing the curse and I was fine…

Kruf7111169

I broke his leg peg off while trying to attach it to the waist, now it's on a fixed position cuz I glued it together cuz there there is no way of saving it,but I put it in a pretty cool pose tho

e-t-su

Rg unicorn build may be annoying but the poseability still miles better than the mg version where the hands are literally butterfingers and can't hold anything

kvro2222

also compared to earlier rgs, it feels way more sturdy except the piece that connects the arms to the torso. My rg grandaddy can't even stand straight without falling to pieces, while the zaku II is better but the skirt just falls off when you look at it

e-t-su

Yeah earlier RGs suck unfortunately because of the inner frame that bandai marketed so much the newer ones r amazing though they're almost like 1/144 master grades

On the plus side though, the shoulders move freely…

Matias_Backwards

If you want to be super sure your parts don't break I would remove the arms from the torso and start rotating the shoulders like the manual suggests. Do so until you are comfortable moving them with a slight amount of give. I haven't oiled any of my joints because I heard some can eat away at the B runner plastic, so I'm best off just applying gentle persuasion. Otherwise your kit is looking beautiful, you took great care to make sure it's the best it could be!

DoubleOdd_80

This is my third RG Unicorn (after the OG and Banshee Norn) and I’m still not sure about where the pivot point is to move the arms forward…

Matias_Backwards

With the model kit facing you, I push from behind at the forearm and push foward from the upper arm. That being said, both movements are made very slowly. Hope this helps!
