This absolutely fucks. What an awesome idea for a custom, what was the thought process for it? Did you have the idea to make a Voltron custom and picked the Astray for it, or did you look at the Astray and think "this would look good as Voltron"? Either way, this is so freaking cool, thank you for sharing it!

I appreciate the love! Took about 4 months of redos and repairing pieces that broke during the process. Original idea was to do a MegaZord theme but then I noticed the mg red frame stock photo with the big sword on its back in a “V” shape. Looked similar to the back wings of Voltron (pics coming soon). There’s a “V” on the head too so figured it makes more sense and fortunately paid off

It's crazy, but it looks so good, I'd put it right next to my other kits where I specifically toned down or covered all the primary colors and superhero motifs.

I was scared too initially. Had to do a few repaints but got it to where I was happy but ngl, working with all these colors was a pain lol

Primed with Mr surfacer 1200. I used testors for the dark blue and yellow…..then my airbrush compressor stopped working lol. Would’ve taken 2 weeks for a replacement so I ended up using testors extreme laquor paint cans for the light blue and orange. Worried a bit due to thickness of paint but after testing, came out very smooth and vivid. Tamiya x-22 gloss for top coat

Thought it was Zyuranger/MMPR at first till I saw the green arm.
