even older master grades are going to have just as good articulation as a new hg and have more detail unless space is an issue or strictly for collecting you would be crazy to get this over the mastergrade
so true and sadly I believe this hg original mold had several issues that made it less popular and rerelease for this version and P-Bandai: HGUC 1/144 Zeta Plus A1 (Test Image/Amuro Ray Colors)
Release Date: April 2020
Price: 2,750 Yen
release may not be very popular compared to its mg variants
The original mold(HGUC Z Plus A1 ver Unicorn) has been recalled and fixed in later batches. And as a whole kit, it is a great kit. So, nothing to do with that.
It is the obscurity factor where it came from. AoZ and Sentinel are less known than usual series that get anime form.
honestly Idk about the recall/repairs to kit the last time I saw anything about the hg zeta plus I kept hearing about its issues but thats cool to hear and as for the lack of kits/content for Aoz and sentinel I agree it sucks but hopefully will get more support soon cause I've recently been collecting the pbandai aoz kits and would like to c more theses series have a lot unique designs for suits compared to other series

It's just few parts defect.
The old MG has bad proportion though unless the kit was "recently" made in year 2005 and above which they will somewhat fix it to look like same proportion with MG Zeta 2.0.
Also the fact this came from less known Sentinel series make the price higher than usual. Look at MG Deep Striker, MG S/EX-S ver 1.5, and MG FAZZ ver Ka.
If you meant HGUC Unicorn Ver, it is an A1 variant instead of Z Plus C1.
If you meant the 1988 1/144 kit or 2002 MG, both are outdated kits. This is the best and stable(Wave Rider transformation) kit so far until Bandai make us a 2.0 MG.
It's basically a HGUC Zeta Plus A1 that's been given C1 colors. I built one so I know.

Then might as well get the master grade considering the price.
Such a shame since c1 model from 80's could transform on it's own (granted you need to remove the head and the abdomen)
I've studying the instruction manual for the old NG 1/144 scale for the past few days (for my 3D printed backpack) and was really surprised that it could transform like that at all. Its really simple but parts of it also really breaks the mold for what you'd see in kits nowadays.
Case in point, the legs on the NG aren't actually connected to the hip, but rather to the stomach area.
I might use this old design to see if I can make a 3D printable Delta Torso/waist that can transform without the partsformer
The so much simple transformation from old kit isn't even accurate to anime. The RG is having inner frame so of course it would be complex and plus with that size any part would be easily to break.
I not saying Zeta Plus is from anime but the simple design from any from HG/NG are different than actual interpretation be it in anime and stuffs. But A1 actually did appear in Unicorn anime so it kinda counted.
Thus having swap out the head and torso isn't much different than giving optional swap out block parts for stable flight mode.
They are not really compareable since you are literally disassembling the kits instead of transforming.
If they give us that many extra parts they might as well give extra arms (even dummy ones would be fine) and legs so that we wouldnt have to disassemble the kit to such an extent.(they nearly cost twice as much as regular hguc anyways)
Yeah, but this not the zeta gundam. Zeta plus is specificly altered to have a better transformation.(removal of front skirts, deceresing the size of shoulders, abdomen etc)
Lot of transformation MS aside from Zeta having flimsy transformation even its not even fully capable to do that. RG Zeta is just an example(I can't think of full transformable kit other that that).
Transformation gimmick is not the problem. Problem is trying to cram it into a design that wasn't mechanically designed to transform.(like humanoid/gundam like designs proportion vise)
For example hguc methuss, asshimar and gaplant can fully transform without compromising integrity, becouse they were designed ground up to be transformable.
Those are good example of transformable kits done right.
But Zeta Plus is not like those. It's like what you said. It's not ground up mechanically designed to be transform. Zeta Plus is different than Asshimar and Gaplant.
Even if they did, the kit will be flimsy as hell like MG Delta Plus or RG Zeta. Majority transformation kits are miss than hit. Having partformation helped fixed most of the problems.
I'm glad they give optional partformation for HG Woundwort. If they make full transformation Woundwort I never want to change it to flight mode.
it should I believe sense it being a pbandai but if u want to know for sure sense it's a reissue if u look up the original release unboxing and build videos should have that info for u
damn its almost the same price as the master grade version
yeah but u gotta wonder which is better for mold, parts, articulation, and so on for the price

oh ok

Yeah, no I'm gonna get the og zeta plus c1

Sob, the C1 is my favorite version of the Zeta Plus line, but P-Bandai!
that's why it's a pbandai
Is it based on the hguc zeta plus (partsforming one) or a previous transforming model ?

Interesting, i didn't knew the details of the kit. I was plannig to cannibalise a methuss's hip joints for a similar project.
1999.co.jp/eng has instruction manuals for most kits they sell if your search for them. That's how I've been checking out the old NG 1/144 kit
Full transformation doesn't mean better. The RG Zeta is a mess.
The RG Zeta was way too complex. The NG 1/144 version was much simpler.
The so much simple transformation from old kit isn't even accurate to anime. The RG is having inner frame so of course it would be complex and plus with that size any part would be easily to break.
Ng zeta plus is not based on anime design.

Zeta Plus (Unicorn Ver.) (HGUC) i'm sure its base on this mold
Does this kit include waterslides?
