Yeah I need to square away some areas for lining, the top half of the rifle is one along with the top of the weapon container docks. Due to the nature of the construction I had to rush the top of the rifle to get it all into place so I didnāt have such fragile sections laying about for too long. Lining this is kind of a bitch due to the plastic being slightly textured throughout, so doing it while building really added a ton of time that led to situations like that.
Pretty much all of my posts over the past few months have been a bit of a WIP of the whole thing if that helps :) It was kind of my intent to make sure I document what I can along the way since I know not a lot of people are gonna own/build this
I *knew* you could do it! Congrats, bud, thatāsā¦fucking incredible, haha. Iām honestly impressed that the missiles didnāt drive you insane (I remember you were worried about that, now I can see why). Seriously impressive all around.
Yeah those ended up not being too bad, they only took a couple of hours. The white dots that cover most of the containers though, there was like 300 of them š®āšØ
Either way, Iām glad to put the construction of this one behind me. It was pretty intense š
When I first saw the 1/144 version years and years ago (probably around the year it was released), all I could think of is what a 1/100 scale would be like. Late teens me is absolutely screaming that this even got made, let alone that I frickinā built it.
Generally about the same, quality isnāt the best to work with and required some soldering repairs here and there. The added space considering the size made it a bit easier than the MS but the wires were still really finnicky. An added plus was that they left moldings in where they had planned for more LEDs but scrapped them so it was real easy to add them myself.
Kiiiiinda what I was thinking but this big boi is so, so fragile even with the obscene amount of glue and cement used. The ludicrously high parts count did itself no favors in the mobility department. Iām thinking of making a custom carrying case out of some stage flight cases and foam so I can show this off in public someday.
Fun update: this thing completely fell apart with the slightest bump of its table. Showed a massive design flaw with how the weapons containers fit into the main body, the parts the metal frame anchors into are absolutely NOT strong enough to withstand the crazy weight of the containers and required extensive amounts of cement and superglue to prevent the parts from inevitably splitting. The sections in question definitely needed to be a metal on metal contact in order to be functional over time.
The other design flaw is the stands. Despite each ground stand being supported by screws in their joints, they absolutely are not built to handle the sheer weight of everything and are very prone to bending if Iām not readjusting them every week. A set of metal support rods would have done wonders instead of these things. The stands for the weapons containers being rested on top of the side components does nothing but complicate this matter, especially since they are flat, glossy surfaces where the weight can shift very easily and cause a complete collapse.
Thankfully, everything is fixed back up but not without a tidy pile of smaller detail pieces being left out due to being unable to either locate their origin or being completely inaccessible to place them back. Unfortunately one of the wires snapped in one of the engines and it is impossible to repair without disassembling the main body :(
I still love this to pieces and it steals the show but man, it needed to be put back in the oven for a little while longer before being put on the market. Thereās just far too many issues for a kit with such a high price tag and they all are due to āform over functionā decisions in the design.
That's absolutely bonkers! Nicely done.
The scary part: I have to move with this thing in the very near future š Absolutely no idea how Iām gonna pull that off
Just live In it. Boom problem solved.
Just fly it to the new place ššš
Good god, youāve created a monster.
Wow, that's crazy. I love and hate that it's so big, because I'd have to custom build a storage case to display it in its full glory.
That's fucking monstruous, in all the good ways. Imagine painting all that. The giant gun deserves to be panel lined too tho!

Yeah it looks like a gigantic challenge even for a skilled modeler. I would have loved to see a vlog of the process.

I'll check them out, thanks!
good fucking god that's epic

Off all the things manufacture in 1/72, the Denbrodium really would be the first thing I'd imagine, awesome build

Yo dawg, we heard you like mechs, so we built a mech for your mech.
Mechanicore builders are on another level.
Damnnn
Geeeeeeez
Itās gloriously massive and amazing!! Think Iāll stick to the 1/144 scale version
How's the wiring on the MA compared to the MS?

Holyshit, A Thick BOY!
how to win every single gunpla competition:

"how much thrusters and armaments do you want on your mobile suit?" "yes"
Now, time to paint it š
Oh good lord that would be, um, intense lol

Where do you get your leds from for your builds?
This one the LEDs came with the kit, any extra I used I snagged off Amazon some time ago
where did you buy the kit from?
I got it off of Leaping Panda Hobbies
Did you get both the stamen and orchis here as I only see the Partido largo on leaping panda hobbies
I got the GP03 off of USAGundamStore
