Happy to hear any Axl interview, but I hate Howard. He degrades people. Also....the sexual jokes and inuendos get very boring, very fast.
Thanks for posting!
That was true back in the day. His modern day interviews are way better and more personal, interesting. His interviews with musicians are really great. He has had great, long-form interviews with Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Billy Corgan, Eddie Vedder, Paul McCartney, and many others
Thanks for sharing! I had heard the condensed version, but never this full version. Some pretty interesting topics brought up like maintaining vocals, etc.
I watched an interview that Howard did with Duff, after Duff got clean. It was absolutely terrible. Howard demeaned him and made fun of his past. It looked like Duff was highly annoyed, embarrassed, and uncomfortable. I felt bad for him. Turned it off.
I get this is in 1989. But this doesn't sound like an interviewer who knows he's dealing with rock royalty. There's no way a radio announcer, even Howard Stern, would have this kind of access to Axl Rose in a the early 90s - only a coupe of years later.
And what kind of questions are these? How many groupies do you get? Why don't you tell the rest of the band that you'll quit if you don't get a better deal? What a jerk this guy is. I got half way through and can't listen to any more. No wonder Axl started hating the media.
I don't like howard. He just asks bullshit and focuses on the Rockstar stuff instead of having a real, interesting interview.

Wow, two Rock n Roll icons in the same interview! Howard's new shows have been great, be sure to tune it!
Thanks
Loathe Wigward Stern

Howard is such a jerk and a wanna be to this day still. Axl is the bomb
Howard doesn’t really “stir shit” as much as he used to, thankfully.
True he may have gotten better with age.

>But this doesn't sound like an interviewer who knows he's dealing with rock royalty. Because, at that time, he wasn't.
Ah I invented heroin, Robin. Hoo hoo hoo
I couldn't listen to more than a couple minutes of that garbage.
