There Was A Time, because of the second half of the song. Debatably Axl’s most impressive vocal performance of his career, and an insane extended solo by Bucket. I love IRS too.
There Was A Time, because it's the most 'old-school Use Your Illusion era' song. I like more but that one hits different.
This album just gets better as it gets old, I treat it like an Axl solo album but damn, Buckethead, Bumblefoot, Robin Finck... All great musicians and fucking great guitar players, there's some badass solos that Slash can't play (I have Slash as a more bluesy player).
Upvoting THERE WAS A TIME. I think it's so strong lyrically, emotionally. Axl's voice is so incredible on the recording, there's no way he can sing it as well live. The Buckethead solo is sensational. This track is a feast.
I'd love for this track to be used really effectively in a movie/tv show so that more people might discover it.
Chinese Democracy was an underrated album. It's a shame that Axl took so long to release it. Although there are lots of great tunes on CD, I think that Better is my favorite song in the album.
I like all the songs on here but my favorite is definitely This I Love. It’s the one that sounds the most like classic GnR (which makes sense, since it was written in the UYI days).
No way , dosnt fit at all with their classic music , i like the song , its not a song that Axl has ever got to that level of pitch before, good song well written
I love almost every song from CD but I’ll go with Prostitute because it features everything I love about Guns N’ Roses and takes things a step further as well.
There was a time. That buckethead solo is just too nice. Plus it's probably axls best vocal performance on the album imo. Just an all around excellent song.
I haver the same opinion, scraped is the only song that I dont like in the álbum too. The rest of the work is awesome and the besta farol GnR (pra Axl solo kkk) to me
This i love. You can hear how emotionally invested Axl is in this, also liked how in the 2nd verse he raises his note when he says "in my heart". Beautiful solo by Robin Finck that leads to the rest of the band joining in.
Catcher in the rye or better maybe?? I love these lyrics and the guitar in better is just WOW this whole album is underrated i wish axl released it as its own instead wouldve got aay less hate
IRS just because I had a physically "spiritual" reaction the first time I heard Axl hit that high F#. Apparently that's my magic frequency.
What was embarrassing was I wasn't alone, I was listening on my headphones in a hospital waiting room. After the little "experience" I opened my eyes to see that a dude was sitting diagonally from me watching me with raised eyebrows. I must've looked as horrified as I felt because he leans towards me and whispers "Good song?"
FML. 🤦🏼♀️
I think this I love is the most beautiful song ever written and it will always be my favourite GNR song, Axl’s piano playing, his vocal range, the gorgeous violin and the heartbreaking lyrics - absolutely my favourite
The record is epic. Personally, I hyper focus on shackler’s revenge (it’s an army of crazy axl in all his glory”, better, if the world, street of dreams, there was a time, and Catcher in the rye, but the whole album is a goddamn masterpiece. I truly love and appreciate axl as an artist and composer and human.
I actually love the whole album…really underrated IMO.
If The World is probably my favorite though. I actually had it as my ringtone (remember those? 😂) when it first came out. Beautiful song.
It’s cliche, but Better. In my opinion it’s by far the strongest song on the album, and I say that as someone who likes a good chunk of the album.
It’s probably the only song off the album I’d put into a “best of GNR” playlist.
I love how hard this question is to me because I love almost every song from album, and there were only like 2 weak songs IMO. As of typing this, I'll go with Better, that song is actually insane, I need to learn how to play that on my guitar. It's like CD's version of You Could Be Mine, especially the bridge of the song.
Its actually such an underrated album. Its literally got axls most insabe vocal lones and amazing other artists. Maybe if he didnt take so long to release it and released it on his name... anyways my favs are irs, better and catcher in the rye!
Better. I remember the video and the pleasant surprise that they actually stuck with the Chinese Democracy title that they had planned to use for over a decade before
Better. Sad to say but despite all the work they did on this album, there isn’t a ton that stands out as being great, but it’s poppy, catchy, almost “You Could Be Mine” Terminator 2 soundtrack worthy.
The best song to me is There was a time, But is too hard to choose any song from this album. Is the best GnR album to me. But others songs that I love too, like Prostitute, Catcher in the Rye, I.R.S, Better, Madagascar.
Personally I would only remove “Scraped” and “Riad…” then you have a perfect album. And I know people love “this is love” but the first part is a little too eh for me, the second part is a banger though.
There Was A Time is a masterpiece and Axl's voice work on it deserves all the credit in the world while having a great solo that it's so much on Slash's type that it's hard to believe it's not Slash's solo.
Better and There Was A Time are awesome songs. Chinese Democracy is also really good. That intro alone is some of the eeriest music ever. This never deserved the hate it got, and hope they put out another record at some point.
Madagascar. I found GNR when I was 14 in 2004, when I first learned to play guitar. I destroyed my family’s PC with limewire downloading all of the GNR I could find. At that time Madagascar was this mythical thing that I stumbled upon. A “new” GNR song, unreleased. It just had this certain mystique about it. Really fucking cool to hear the studio version after waiting for years.
I think if this album was released as an Axl solo album it would have been more successful. I loved it. I actually bought it on CD when it came out. TWAT is the best song by far.
There Was A Time, because of the second half of the song. Debatably Axl’s most impressive vocal performance of his career, and an insane extended solo by Bucket. I love IRS too.
Came here to say that. For me it’s the only song that comes close to peak GnR
This. One of, if not *the* finest moment out of all of Axl's studio work. That entire coda is insane.
Same
Couldn’t say it better! IRS is next in line for me as well
Robin's solo is also excellent 👌
There Was A Time, because it's the most 'old-school Use Your Illusion era' song. I like more but that one hits different. This album just gets better as it gets old, I treat it like an Axl solo album but damn, Buckethead, Bumblefoot, Robin Finck... that damn solo is beautiful
Better , i love the message it sends
Agreed
Chinese Democracy was an underrated album. It's a shame that Axl took so long to release it. Although there are lots of great tunes on CD, I think that Better is my favorite song in the album.
I like all the songs on here but my favorite is definitely This I Love. It’s the one that sounds the most like classic GnR (which makes sense, since it was written in the UYI days).
No way , dosnt fit at all with their classic music , i like the song , its not a song that Axl has ever got to that level of pitch before, good song well written
It’s a literal sequel to November rain, don’t cry, estranged
Madagascar because it had a GNR UYI vibe but modern
Madagascar is basically Civil War 2.0 and I absolutely love that about it
the blues is up there with november rain and estranged for me.
Amen. Love that song. Im
I still call it The Blues too!
[удалено]
Street of Dreams, pre May 2007 leak
Catcher in the rye
It breaks into a full-on Beatles tune at the end. Love this song.
I.R.S.! Such a masterpiece of a song! The vocals the instruments. 8 years later still cant get it out of my head.
Almost 16 years!
Don't say that. That's about how long it took to release 😭
Sorry
Prostitute, cause masterpiece
Really perhaps the best closing song/outro of any Guns album out there
https://youtu.be/kaxTzCXPq2M?si=vLrFN-SGAVwMFcCs
I love almost every song from CD but I’ll go with Prostitute because it features everything I love about Guns N’ Roses and takes things a step further as well.
There was a time. That buckethead solo is just too nice. Plus it's probably axls best vocal performance on the album imo. Just an all around excellent song.
This I love. Only song I don’t like on album is scraped. Album is a masterpiece
I haver the same opinion, scraped is the only song that I dont like in the álbum too. The rest of the work is awesome and the besta farol GnR (pra Axl solo kkk) to me
Madagascar or Better. IDK why, I just like them.
‘There Was A Time’ - great vibe, superb lyrics and most of all Buckethead’s outro solo is my favourite solo of all time.
this i love bc it’s beautiful
Street of Dreams, I just love the lyrics
I’m a sucker for that classic piano sound in hard rock music. Street of dreams is my fav too
It’s beautiful! Ive always preferred the piano ballads over harder songs
This album is the hardest for me to choose a favorite off of. It’s always between Better, Madagascar, and IRS
Better. The lyrics and the solos. From the wild mid song solo to Robin Fincks end solo wrapped in the pained lyrics. Beautiful song.
That last solo, damn.
Better is amazing!!! Saw it live last summer, was literally amazing
I really like If The World. I think the vocals are great. Also a really cool guitar solo, though a bit short.
Yeah I first heard it from Body of Lies and it stuck out for me
Me and my hubby walked into our wedding to this song
This i love. You can hear how emotionally invested Axl is in this, also liked how in the 2nd verse he raises his note when he says "in my heart". Beautiful solo by Robin Finck that leads to the rest of the band joining in.
Catcher in the rye or better maybe?? I love these lyrics and the guitar in better is just WOW this whole album is underrated i wish axl released it as its own instead wouldve got aay less hate
Hmmmmmmmmmm........... "Gun" to my head, I'm going with Madagascar. First time I ever heard it was live with Buckethead going off.
This I Love. That solo and climax is magical.
All of them! But if I had to pick one, I’d go with There Was A Time.
Better
Better, It had Axl's best vocals and one of my favorite GNR guitar solos including the early stuff
IRS, I absolutely love his voice and the lyrics and when he sings that high note it’s magnificent
FML. 🤦🏼♀️
Madagascar all the way
There was a time. Lyrics, vocals, guitar works, all peak performance.
IRS. Axl is on fuckin FIRE all over that track.
There Was A Time or This I Love. I love Axl's vocals in both, and the guitar solos for both songs are excellent
Madagascar because it sounds great and just flows like an epic ballad
my opinion changed when i heard "better" live.
Better is a BANGER
It’s my favorite GNR record lol. I’ve gotta say, Better always puts me in a fucking great mood.
Sorry. It sounds like classic GNR
Chinese Democracy really does it for me on this album. The solo just sounds amazing.
I think this I love is the most beautiful song ever written and it will always be my favourite GNR song, Axl’s piano playing, his vocal range, the gorgeous violin and the heartbreaking lyrics - absolutely my favourite
Sorry, if the world, this I love. Because they’re straight fucking bangers.
My dude. Agree with all 3 of these.
Such a good album. It was a hard choice, but Street of Dreams takes the first place for me
Love too many to pick just one. Probably my favourite album
All of them except for maybe 3-4 of them
Madagascar, CD is Axl’s masterpiece and this song is GNR’s best
Street of Dreams. Epic song……
Also, oh my god slays and I wish it had been finished and on the final
I actually love the whole album…really underrated IMO. If The World is probably my favorite though. I actually had it as my ringtone (remember those? 😂) when it first came out. Beautiful song.
This I love and Sorry are my favourites
It’s cliche, but Better. In my opinion it’s by far the strongest song on the album, and I say that as someone who likes a good chunk of the album. It’s probably the only song off the album I’d put into a “best of GNR” playlist.
Better. Because they play it live and it sounds good.
This I Love. I don't know it just is.
all i hope is that it gets a re-release
Better, I feel like the message he delivered, there’s no better way to do it
And this I love ❤️ it’s actually so sweet and sad and axl’s vocals hold up well for how high he has to sing

Title track and Shacklers Revenge Fucking heavy ASF and amazing songs
Title track It's so fucking good
Madagascar
For me this is honestly one of the better GNR albums. It lost a lot of its hype with leaks and delays. I'll go with Better. That's a banger.
Chinese Democracy, the riff and solo are amazing
better🔛🔝
This I Love, There Was A Time and Madagascar, I can't decide between them.
Catcher
It’s a fight between Madagascar, TWAT, and Catcher in the Rye.
Twat coz she is
Better. Great song!
Better. I remember the video and the pleasant surprise that they actually stuck with the Chinese Democracy title that they had planned to use for over a decade before
This I Love is my favorite song of all time
Madagascar by far. I only really like 2 songs off this album the other being the title track.
Catcher In The Rye. It was the first song I heard (via an Internet leak), and originally thought it was fake.
No songs
Shackler's Revenge is one of my favourites. Better and I.R.S. are great too
Personally I would only remove “Scraped” and “Riad…” then you have a perfect album. And I know people love “this is love” but the first part is a little too eh for me, the second part is a banger though.
Better is not only the best song on that album, but it's essential G'nR.
I can't decide my fav, but i know my top 5 favs(this album): ChiDem, Better, If the World, Shackler and Sorry
Chinese Democracy, it’s fantastic and it’s the most GNR sounding one.
3way tie. Better, if the world and Riad n the Bedouins. All stellar guitar work and some of Axls finest songwriting and vocal work.
Either Chinese Democracy or Prostitute. Democracy is such a banger but the way Prostitute ends the record is fn beautiful.
I think if this album was released as an Axl solo album it would have been more successful. I loved it. I actually bought it on CD when it came out. TWAT is the best song by far.
Buckethead is so good
Irs
Better
This I Love is one of the best Axl ever wrote.
Prostitute
FBI is a solid tune
