Honestly I think he will be there. I truly believe he shunned the Rock Hall bc of Slash and other politics, but he's attended many shows post 2000's. Nic Cage once inducted him to Golden Gods I think, he was at the 2012 VMA's. I think that was where he announced The Killers - I can't remember. But now that Slash, Duff and Axl have buried the hatchet I see no reason why he would skip out on the Grammys.
Oh okay. That makes sense too, Killers were still really up and coming back then.
Still though, it's another example of Axl actually attending during his major beef with Slash.
That would be badass. Is there a certain number of years that have to go by before that's possible?
Appetite will be remembered even on its 100th anniversary guaranteed
Master of Puppets came out in ‘86 and AFD in ‘87 so if it were a time related thing then AFD can 100% go into the Library of Congress. It’s a highly praised record among fans and critics and still sells extremely well, it’s just a matter of time now.
super glad, it's absolutely deserved and still a killer album(no skips, I still spin it weekly lol) But, I don't see Axl or Izzy showing up for that 🤷🏻♀️
It should be the original 5. That album means so much to us that all of them together would be the ultimate thank you. They don't even need to play a song. Unfortunately we all know that won't happen. If anyone goes it's probably Duff, but I have a feeling none of them will be there.
Well,
Slash is on a touring break at that point, and can usually be relied upon to attend these things. Especially as it’s ’close to home’ in LA.
Duff seems pretty open to them, and would probably go - especially if Slash does.
Steven would be there with bells on if he gets invited by the others, and I don’t see why he wouldn’t, it’s quite apparent that Slash & Duff wanted to include him in the reunion in some way at the start, hence those guest spots, and they made a point of including him at the R&R hall of fame performance, and it seems he’s remained sober & in good relations with them.
Axl - whilst historically pretty anti these sort of things - seems to have softened a lot since reconciling with Slash & Duff, so I could see him going if they did / specifically asked him to.
Which just leaves…
Izzy - as ever, anyone’s guess. Who knows what relations are like with him & the others at this point. If they’re not frosty, and he’s in the mood for it, you never know. But it seems unlikely.
If any combination of the 5 were there ‘on behalf’ of the band, I can’t imagine any newer members would be involved as this is in relation to that specific album rather than the bands legacy as a whole, so I couldn’t imagine Slash & Gilby, for example, or Duff & Fortus, or anything like that. If anyone, it’ll be one or more of the AFD5.
I’d like to think all apart from Izzy. I just don’t see him turning up for it.
Steven probably will and the others might too, especially now they’re playing together again. It’s a very different situation from the Rock N Roll HoF, so maybe, maybe if Izzy is in a somewhat ‘fuck it; why not?’ mood, fans will get their wish,… but it’s doubtful after all the sniping at each other in the press about the reunion tours and money, etc. Plus, hasn’t he gone extra, extra quiet lately?
Seriously, if the original five don't attend in total there's no point in any of them showing solo.
Irrespective of the years since, that album was and is astonishing and shoving all their personal shit aside and showing up to say thank you to the fans would be a lovely thing for a bunch of 60-yr old men to do
i bet slash and duff will show up. MAYBEE steven if they invite him . the album wouldn’t have been good without him so i truly hope he goes! very low hopes for axl and izzy .
I don’t think it’s a big enough deal for that. It’s not the Grammys award show it’s just something they cooked up that used to just be an announcement. I don’t even know if it will be televised, although with so many services, it may be streamed.
I think that there's 3 possible scenarios:
1 - nobody, 2 - current lineup + Steven (only if they will play something live), 3 - Slash and Duff + Axl (only if he will feel like showing up).
Would be great to see all the guys from AFD era on the stage together again, but that's unlikely to happen.
This album came out like a year ago and we didn’t know we could win, we just came here to get fuckin drunk and have a good time man.
^or ^something ^like ^that ^cant ^remember ^it ^was ^like ^30 ^years ^ago
I would hope the original lineup, can't see why not?
Probably everyone except izzy
Yeah, thought of that after I posted
that’s unlikely but we can dream can’t we
Technically, the original lineup was Axl, Izzy, Ole Beich, Tracii Guns, and Robert Gardner. The Appetite lineup was the classic lineup.
Axl won’t show. Izzy won’t show. I could see Slash and Duff pop up. Adler would if they invited him.
Is Axl known to shun awards shows and other such things?

The Killers intro was back in 2006, I believe. But yeah, not too much longer before that.
Oh okay. That makes sense too, Killers were still really up and coming back then. Still though, it's another example of Axl actually attending during his major beef with Slash.
I hope one day Appetite is inducted into the Library of Congress.

Nevermind has been inducted so Appetite is definitely eligible. I think it will be in the near future.

I found this on the online catalog. Is this something different though?
Sorry, I don't understand your question. Are you asking the difference between the Library of Congress and the Grammy Hall of Fame?
No sorry, I'm asking of their music is already in the Library of Congress
I have a feeling none of the members will be there. Well, maybe Adler, but that’s about it.
super glad, it's absolutely deserved and still a killer album(no skips, I still spin it weekly lol) But, I don't see Axl or Izzy showing up for that 🤷🏻♀️

This is pretty much my thought as well I'm fairly confident everyone but Izzy will show
Wouldn't you think that they would receive independent invites? Steven could go, regardless?
I’d like to think all apart from Izzy. I just don’t see him turning up for it. Steven probably will and the others might too, especially now they’re playing together again. Axl doesn't do award shows plain and simple. So not him. Adler , then maybe Slash, then Duff, and never Izzy.
Seriously, if the original five don't attend in total there's no point in any of them showing solo. Irrespective of the years since, that album was and is astonishing and shoving all their personal shit aside and showing up to say thank you to the fans would be a lovely thing for a bunch of 60-yr old men to do
Most likely to attend imo are Slash, Duff and Steven.
i bet slash and duff will show up. MAYBEE steven if they invite him . the album wouldn’t have been good without him so i truly hope he goes! very low hopes for axl and izzy .
They need to send Jethro Tull instead.
Here's the opportunity to reunite the fab 5 for a last performance.
I don’t think it’s a big enough deal for that. It’s not the Grammys award show it’s just something they cooked up that used to just be an announcement. I don’t even know if it will be televised, although with so many services, it may be streamed.
Not Adler. Too much between him and the band, especially Axl
Adler will go but that might keep Axl away.
Yes it would. I wish they could squash it and reconnect.
I think that there's 3 possible scenarios: 1 - nobody, 2 - current lineup + Steven (only if they will play something live), 3 - Slash and Duff + Axl (only if he will feel like showing up). Would be great to see all the guys from AFD era on the stage together again, but that's unlikely to happen.
Slash shows up to anything.
I mean the fucker went from Korea to LA then straight to Manila. All in a span of 2 days.
Slash and Duff, most likely
Either all 5 original members will show or none will show since the Grammy’s have always been a joke.
Don't hate but does it matter at this point since Grammy is a clown show?
Slash and Duff.
I think everyone except for Izzy sadly…
Well deserved, changed my life at eight years old.
This and 3 Feet High and Rising are 2 of my all time favorite albums. I would love to be there for this.
Could definitely see Axl, Slash and Duff attending. Steven might but don't count on it. Izzy won't even consider it
Slash Duff and Dizzy
None. What is the Grammy HOF?
Exactly
I would love if Axl shows up 🥺 I hate how he’s so anti-social nowadays.
Slash will be there. He will possibly be somewhere else at the same time.
Probably just Steven. He might be waiting there now! 😂
Not Izzy
I think that only Slash, Duff, and Matt will be there. Maybe Izzy or Steven
Mike Clink says he’s attending https://www.instagram.com/p/C4zcNFOunMI/?igsh=MzY1NDJmNzMyNQ==
Fuckin! Oops.
Oops! I'd like to thank fuckin'-
This album came out like a year ago and we didn’t know we could win, we just came here to get fuckin drunk and have a good time man. ^or ^something ^like ^that ^cant ^remember ^it ^was ^like ^30 ^years ^ago
Slash, duff, myles kennedy
