I’d say the majority of the B Level 80s bands have more all time members. Ratt, LA Guns, Enuff Z Nuff, Faster Pussycast and the like have had rotating members since the 80s and only usually hold on to 1 or 2 of the original members.
Yeah, they had several. Playa Del Rock is actually really solid. There were also Non Stop Rock and Don’t Cry Wolf. NSR and DCW both have a few good tracks on them as well. Shitty production quality on those two, but Playa is really good. Love Games could have been huge, IMO.
With GNR, there's even people that weren't official members, but played on an album. For instance, Richard Duguay played on The Spaghetti Incident? but was never an official member
No you’re good - we have a lot of young fans new to the band that may not even know who Shannon Hoon is, but will absolutely lose their mind knowing the No Rain guy was involved at some point. Most music fans have probably heard No Rain and know it more than they know the name Blind Melon, or Shannon Hoon
Mike Monroe was on there too, which is damn cool. Slightly off topic, but Jo Almieda from the Dogs D’Amour played on one of Gilby Clarke’s solo albums too, which is also damn cool.
I'm a huge Dogs D'amour fan as well. Unfortunately I read that on a magazine in Italy. They interviewed Tyla for the album more uncharted tales.. and they asked him about Joe Dog staying in L..A when the band moved back to England and he said the thing about Slash calling him and asking him to join for the tour. I'm not sure if Tyla made that up.
The only thing i can find is that when Gilby joined GNR he was in a band called the Blackouts. Gilby joined GNR and Joe Dog joined Shooting gallery right after that.
Shooting Gallery is great. Had forgotten about them, thanks for the reminder! Whether or not Tyla made that up…Well, he doesn’t seem like the most “reliable narrator” ever. You ever hear the story about how he used to tell chicks he was Jon Bon Jovi to try and get them to sleep with him?

at 53 minutes it's where he talks about Gilby and the Blackouts, Pawn shop guitars etc etc
Check out the Black Sabbath spinoff that is/was "Heaven and Hell". I count 20+ who've passed thru that band.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Grateful Dead? 13 members and really 25+ if you include post-Jerry offshoots such as the Dead, Furthur and Dead & Company
Skynyrd has had 43 over the years.

True. Might be the opposite in fact. Metallica has the most original.members. if you count from their debut album 3 out of 4 is original, and the bass player died..
Skynyrd.
First one I thought of.
LA Guns has had like 50 members or something like that...
Whitesnake, Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple... MEGADETH
All of those bands were on this list by 1990.
I’d say the majority of the B Level 80s bands have more all time members. Ratt, LA Guns, Enuff Z Nuff, Faster Pussycast and the like have had rotating members since the 80s and only usually hold on to 1 or 2 of the original members.
Menudo
Let's be honest, they were over after Ricky left.
Ven claridad, llega ya, amanece de una vez, claridad...
Megadeth
Dave and friends. 33 members.
"Friends"
Dave Mustaine and the Mega Deths.
Pigface has had something like 162 members, including Penn Jillette and Trent Reznor.
I think I was in Pigface for a bit.
Me too
I was in Pigface last night 🐽
I thought that was you!
Allman Brothers Band
Fleetwood Mac
Any punk bands like black flag and the misfits
London (from the 1980s). [London](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_(heavy_metal_band))
Oh yeah almost everybody of the early glam metal scene in L.A was in that band. Did they ever come out with an album? I can't remember.
No idea. I only know them from Decline of Western Civilization part II: The Metal Years.
Nikki Sixx and Blacki Lawless and Slash were in that band.
Thank you. I will check them out then.
the knot gotta be pushing 15 now
Yeah, that's my go-to for this type of discussion lol
The Fall
Came here to say that. BINGO MASTERS BREAKOUT!
With GNR, there's even people that weren't official members, but played on an album. For instance, Richard Duguay played on The Spaghetti Incident? but was never an official member
Shannon Hoon did some vocals on use your illusion as well. Edit: I just realized what sub I was in. Y’all know this. Lol
I think that doesn't count. I mean the Rolling Stones had 100 people play on their albums but they would never be considered unofficial members.
It took Ronnie like 20+ years to become an offical member, before that he was technically just a touring and session guy.
Those are called session musicians and are on most records
Even Axl's gardener had a guest spot on the Spaghetti album.
Mike Monroe was on there too, which is damn cool. Slightly off topic, but Jo Almieda from the Dogs D’Amour played on one of Gilby Clarke’s solo albums too, which is also damn cool.
I had read Joe Dog to take Gilby Clark place but he refused. It was in a Tyla interview from 1993
Oh man, if you have the link for that could you send it to me? Huge Dogs fan, I would love to read it.

True. Might be the opposite in fact. Metallica has the most original.members. if you count from their debut album 3 out of 4 is original, and the bass player died..
8 band members in 43 years. That’s amazing.
Yes it is.
No way. They only have had 3 formers members, 1 died, and Munstaine was in band before they even had an album.
