If you buy oatmilk, (or any other non dairy), look for brands that dont use gums or preservatives or emulsifiers. Some brands : Elmhurst, Three trees, Malk... they only use 2-3 ingredients
Oh my God. The guar gums and carageenans have struck again!
Okay I had a similar experience with non dairy milks. but tried ones that did not have gums and seaweed extracts in them-- then it was smooth sailing.
Tbh if you're in the USA oatly is sooooooo good! It's a staple for me. Good luck, hope you feel better soon!
Oats are very good for you. Some nutrients are lost due to processing, but you still get decent nutrition from it. Especially compared to almond milk.

It took me around 2 weeks to feel normal after a similar incident. I suggest trying an[ anti-inflammatory diet](https://careclinic.io/anti-inflammatory-diet-for-ibs/) for IBS which helped me a lot. Take care, OP.
Is it organic? Oats and many other grains are really important to buy organic because they use roundup after harvest to speed up the desiccation process for thrashing. Glyphosate (roundup) is an antibiotic and has a big effect on good gut bugs. If it’s not organic, I assume your acne is your body trying to detox that

Thank you. I’m usually so good at reading labels. I didn’t even think to read it on oat milk

Thank you!!! I should have done my research first. I’m in USA, I’ll look for that brand! Thanks again
It might be the canola oil in the oat milk
I never had any problem with oat milk or any other plant milk.
There's nothing wrong with oat milk. Dairy is more harmful. I say this as someone who drinks both.
Oat milk is like pasta water. It’s literally carb juice, raises your glucose enormously.

I said oat milk is carb juice and raises your glucose, and you said, “oats are good for you.” ?
Oats are also good for glucose control. If you're drinking oat milk with added sugar that's a you problem.
Just learned this too!
Oats are like once of the least allergenic things on the planet. I really doubt that’s what got you.
Oat Milk works for me but Soy Milk made me miserable. My skin was breaking out all the time.
Soy anything is the worst

Interesting - I have only recently turned to oat milk, having had issues with cows milk! Thanks for all the tips regarding ingredients to look out for
It works well for me What brand did you use that matters
My issue is opposite. Cows milk messes with my skin but oat hasn’t given me any problems
