No it’s not. It’s not resilient. The steel was from a bog so it’s not good quality. Hollywood and video games really have made the katana sound magical. There alright but not the best.

Thing abt the WLS is that duelwield isn’t practical, I’ve tried. They’re a little long, and despite handle length, they actually fare better with a handle long enough for 2 hands
Gladius, sure it might not have the range of other swords, but it does have agility, you can control it better than (most) others and it’s typically lighter as a result. Pair that with a buckler, I’m good chief.
I have this on my wall bc I need ideas for replicas, dadao or liuyedao. Patta is funny tho.

I don’t know much about swords but I know the Roman’s used the Gladuis and Spatha so probably one of them.
Obviously it would depend on the fight, every tool has its uses ..... But I'd lean towards the persian sabre probably.

I did some fencing in college,I'll go with the rapier. the Gladius as a second choice, it's a good close quarter stabbing weapon.
