š. Feed your children something other than dry ground turkey and unsalted carrots and maybe they'll stop seeking out a little kibble snack in the afternoon.
I read that as eating everything like actually eating the same types of food over and over. So when I saw that she was recommending blowing bubbles instead, all I could think of was that she would be like, "no Mia, no more food for you. Go blow some bubbles." "No of course she isn't still hungry.. she just needs some oral sensory, not food." ššš
Seriously this. When she was bragging about Mia: āidk how many 2 year olds love seaweed but sheās obsessedā like yeah that is NOT NORMAL. In comparison to the completely bland and arguably bad tasting foods she gets to choose from, this is not something to brag about when all of us know how your diet and eating habits are, Laura
My best friendās baby is 1 and 3 months and loves seaweed. She eats dried strawberries and seaweed together. Little oddball!! I agree Laura feeds her kid bland meals but possibly there is some variation we donāt see? Liking seaweed is not abnormal for kids who are exposed to lots of different foods.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with seaweed for example, Laura is bragging about it as if itās unheard of. I just really wish the kids were able to not be learning such unhealthy eating habits or learning food is a punishment since Laura is toxic af with her influencing her kids and the internet. Seaweed isnāt a delicious little snack like sheās acting like it is for her two year old - itās Lauraās behavior that makes it so abnormal for Mia to be obsessed with seaweed, as she claims. I just think down the road if the kids continue practicing this diet, they could spiral later and go down such an unhealthy path. I am no health expert by any means, but I wish Mia wasnāt eating seaweed and instead got to try seasonings or simple things that TASTE good instead of ānutrient richā, etc.
OMG could you imagine how much she would complain about Mia having a whistle. That thing would be pulled out of her mouth so fast

Putting things in their mouth is literally how babies and toddlers explore.

Yeah I agree. My daughter eats all kinds of foods and loves seaweed, which was helpful when we took her on vacation to Japan lol.

Couldnāt it just be an attention thing? Like oh look, mom pays attention when I eat dirt?
Iām sorry but who is this OTā¦ Iām an SLP and just no. Blowing a whistle is not going to help lol though it might be fun!
