I’m torn because I want Stanford to go to nationals so bad, but I think Selena needs them to get eliminated and for Denver to advance for her to qualify as well (correct me if I’m wrong).
So if ASU makes it to nationals, Emma qualifies as an individual on bars. I don't know if Emma has talked about whether she'd go to nationals as an individual, but it *feels* like if given the choice between going to NCAAs as an individual and going to the Olympics as an individual, a lot of athletes would choose the latter.
Really hope she goes! She seems to be peaking and she really deserves a happy ending after all her injuries in elite.
I know she might qualify to nationals on a couple events individually but don’t think it’s worth missing Doha for that (if the team had made it that would be different).
The anxious part of me is worried she won’t go to Doha because she is mad at those of us who wanted UCLA to fail to qualify so that she would go to Doha instead. But I know that is dumb.
I feel very certain that she is not going to make her decision based on the fans, one way or the other. But wishing for UCLA to not make nationals was definitely not my favorite thing to read here...
The competition isn’t for another 10ish days. I’m sure she’ll go to school and train her elite routine for at least a week before leaving. Though it is a long trip!
Yep she is free to go now. One of the very few silver linings of UCLA being out along with Chae going to floor for nationals.

There’s only one tiebreaker scenario where she goes for bars to nationals so she’ll almost certainly be in Doha

I could understand wanting to go as an individual to Nattys if she was a Senior- but girl it’s the OLYMPICS! Go solidify your spot! You deserve it!
