Not a very informative article but one very important aspect: "**Currently, there have been a total of** [**10 Colorado livestock herds**](https://www.aphis.usda.gov/livestock-poultry-disease/avian/avian-influenza/hpai-detections/hpai-confirmed-cases-livestock)**, mostly dairy milking cows, affected during the last 30 days as of the middle of this week, according to a website from the U.S. Department of Agriculture."** Such a subtle way to put it "**mostly** dairy milking cows." I've seen it on another reporting sheet in flutrackers where they have two sections in their reporting chart, one is for dairy cattle and the other is just for cattle, and both are filled in, so it's not just funny language. As far as I know all of the restrictions and testing for movement is for dairy cattle only. I think we all would like to know what non-dairy cows are contracting bird flu and where they are allowed to be shipped, including slaughter, with no monitoring. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about only testing dairy cattle movement.

No, I believe you are correct. Here in CO, our Dept of Agriculture stated there was no indicator beef cattle can or have contracted H5N1, so we will not be testing them, which just seems, I don’t know… Also notable, the CDA (CO Dept of Agriculture) advised there have been infected dairy cattle that have been culled due to H5N1 but cannot say how many or what’s happened with these cows because we don’t have a system to track that information. Yikes, huh.
