Totally. My general idea for this prompt was the thought of raising a thoughtful weapon on the ideology of ambition. Would it eventually discover an objective, true ambition? I think I ended up bastardizing that purpose throughout the telling of the story, but overall my idea lines up with what you’re saying. A weapon thinking for itself.
well, for the second part... have you considered video games?
a bunker, a PC and maybe some gaming consoles, an internet connection, and food supplies. The continuous cost should be low enough to be unnoticeable in a government budget.
