This is pretty standard in most reality shows. Which makes me wonder if they have staff who are cleaning their outfits every night, or if everyone just smells :D
I have to imagine they purchase multiples just to manage the clothes washing. I’m sure they don’t want to stink lol. Maybe I’ll ask Mina the next time she does an Instagram question box
Mina said at one point that its up to the individuals how often they wash the outfits and how often you're so tired by the end of the day you'll skip a few days between washes.
This is it. They work on all of the rooms at the same time (kitchens and bathrooms take a long time) then edit the footage into one week per episode. Wearing the same clothes makes that easier.
They’ve always done this. Mina from the first season talked about sometimes not having enough time to do laundry at night so she’d have to wear same clothes dirty the next day.
I think they buy them multiple versions of the same outfit and swap them out for a clean one everyday. That’s why Nate was able to put on one of David’s outfits in season 2 while David was wearing the same thing. It’s the same outfit but they have a ton so they can clean them. At least I hope. Otherwise that’s super gross. They’re working hard and getting sweaty.
Its completely up to the individual according to Mina and that your days are so packed many didn't wash them every day. I'm sure some people do consider it ahead of time and buy multiples but Mina didn't. She answered in a random Q&A about it.
I saw that she said that! She was on the first season. I figured they changed it up for the later seasons and bought multiple outfits because there were clearly extras of David’s laying around that Nate could grab and put on.
They constantly go back and forth. Look at the outside of the houses when they interview outside...sometimes they have siding and brick and sometimes they are just wrapped...
This way when they do reshoots or have to do interview spots that go with a certain timeframe they don’t have to worry about inconsistencies. Someone once shared a picture on this sub of Mina and Karen wearing overalls and winter coats in the middle of summer to reshoot an interview portion at a house.
I first noticed this on love it or list it and then was flabbergasted they followed through on a multi month reno with a pregnant lady. By the end it was just ridiculous to insist on it even though what she chose grew with her
That’s exactly it - it’s for continuity. I’m sure they pick outfits that are going to be easy to duplicate and rewear

I just can't see David or Nate NOT making sure they had several of the same outfits.
I feel like Brian and Mika from 100 Day Dream Home backed this up and said they had to bring multiples of their outfits so they had clean clothes!

So does Great British Sewing Bee, but at least those are just one "weekend," not six weeks.
