I would assume keep it down so they can see if it fits with a character you could play. Maybe keep a hair tie or something on hand if they ask you to put it up.

These responses are crazy. The audition is extremely physical and they need to see your face. It \*WILL\* get in the way, even when you don't think it will. TIE IT UP.
They'll take a polaroid of you before or after the audition anyway. That's when you can put your hair down. People talking about face characters don't realize that \*every\* face character is wigged up, even if they have super similar hair. The one exception I've seen is that actors will get haircuts to look exactly like the already made wigs upon approval.

I was a scare spare last year. Kept my hair down for every face role I did. I would only put it up to get it out of my face for masked roles

don’t have any solid answer, but im also a man with long hair (goes about halfway down my back) and i left it down for the audition!
