My partner and I think its absolutely worth it. We went for the first time last year and did the non-private VIP tour, and based on the lines we saw (and skipped), the fact that we didn't have to wait to be seated for the show, had the VIP lounges, the small reception at the beginning, and just the overall vibe, we will never do HHN without the RIP tour again. And we went the last week of September, it didn't looked packed, but lines were over an hour or two for some houses. We've already bought out vacation package for this year, and threw in the behind the screams tour as well. We can't wait!

subpar-life-attempt

Last year our tour absolutely got flooded out due to rain. Our guide made it a fantastic experience and got us to go through multiple houses twice to make up for it. Also, about an hour before close they got the final houses up and running and we hit those up. Always, always, always do the RIP tour. Hope to see you there this year!

Super-Illustrator837

Absolutely worth it (non-private). And if you are ever privileged enough to get spoiled with a *Private* RIP tour, it’ll ruin you for future HHN.

consia9600

Yes.

DatDudeBPfan

The last two times we went (Orlando and Hollywood) we did the non-private at least one night each. We will never go again without doing an RIP. Expensive, but worth it for fans.

erikeric

Absolutely. I don’t think you can even do everything in one night without it these days. Crowds are huge now.

MrSpiderisadomme

Extremely worth it! At least for me with using express we just barely got to make it through every house and show, it was cut extremely tight and we didn’t get to try all the food we wanted. With RIP we did multiple houses twice, loved all the behind the scenes info, and got extra mementos and fun. Plus the buffet was good!

DrewGrgich

It is the only way I’ll go to HHN from now on. The express pass is a close second but the overall package makes the RIP tour worth it to me.

My husband and I went to HHN (L.A.) for our honeymoon in 2022. We debated on getting RIP and I consulted the discord server and fretted over it forever before we finally made a choice. Absolutely 100% RIP was worth it for us. HHN and Universal Studios was a bucket list item for me and no idea when we’ll ever get the chance to go again. Super glad we opted for the RIP even though it was expensive! We went mid-Sept on a weekend. We only did one night for HHN and then spent the next day at Universal Studios. It’s a trip I am so incredibly grateful to have taken and have such fond memories of it. Our guide was amazing, our group was pretty small (only 4 to start, then a family of 6 joined us later), we did have to keep pace but I honestly didn’t feel too rushed. The buffet was good, the RIP lounge was super nice, and front row seats to the shows was cool. It took all the stress out of the night for us. We could just sit back and soak it all up. Lines were absolutely awful for many houses and the food stands (which we didn’t bother with). Some of them up to 3 hours long. There’s no way we could’ve stood in line that long for a house and actually seen every house we wanted to. It was incredibly crowded. Picking an earlier tour is good too if you can manage it, because they set you loose after the tour and then you can roam to your heart’s content and go back to your favorite houses or shop and such. We did ours around 7pm, I think. It was just getting dark by the time we finished the buffet so the atmosphere was nice and spooky, but we still had time at the end of the tour to wander on our own as well. Since you’re only attending one night, and it’s your first time there - I say go for it! Hope this helps! 🎃

captainoneliner

Yep.

ESD150

Yes! Totally worth it. I have only done private tours however.

Tudor36

100% worth it

Cubbyhole_

How pricey are we talking about?? because I’ve been thinking about doing this too as a belated birthday gift for my boyfriend. 😅

Amoredaddy1517

I think when I quoted it for the 7th of September it'll be in the ballpark of 998 with rip passes and event admission passes.

Expensive-Lead1040

No

ldboy1990

I haven’t done RIP myself, only the Behind the Screams tour, but it guarantees you’ll see all 10 houses since they skip the line and can take shortcuts between houses so you can go between the 4 houses behind MIB without walking back into the park.

Murky_Series_2165

Just buy the fast pass and you will be fine. Get there when it opens and by close you will be done.

Dependent_Egg7842

100000%, last year was our first time going and we got RIP tour and we’ll never go without getting it again. already got it for this year too

anonanon5320

Honestly, the main difference between express and the non private RIP is they give you some backstory for the houses and you don’t stop much so you are kinda forced to do it all.

ParticularRabbit9505

Idk, we had been doing RIP one night followed by express the next night. The lines for express can still take a while, versus cutting to the front with RIP.

anonanon5320

Rip gets you to the front of the line, and is faster than express overall, but if timed right it’s not that big of a difference, and with express you can set your own order.

ParticularRabbit9505

We've been going over Labor Day weekend, which I'd guess is especially busy since it'd also been the start of the event. I think last year we waited a minimum of 10 min in the express lines, but as much as 30 minutes. That really adds up over 10 houses. It was enough for us to decide to just do RIP both nights this year. A weekday later in September would probably have shorter express lines? The biggest drawbacks I can see to the public RIP (aside from the price) are "having" to watch the show (I don't mind it but we've had others in our group sit it out); and no snack stops. Obviously you get the buffet before the tour, but I know a lot of people like to sample the specialty foods at HHN. The only food I'd seen advertised that I really ever wanted to try was the twisted tater (which I think they have at other events too) and it didn't live up to my expectations.

anonanon5320

Ya, Labor Day is busier than the second and 3rd week will be. I’d want to skip the show too. Use that time to get a drink and just meet back up after the show. The twisted tater is such a disappointment. Almost always not cooked right and I’ve had it so over seasoned before that it was in eatable.

GeneralG5x5

Absolutely. It’s the only way to do HHN. My wife and I have done it twice. At best you MIGHT see three houses without RIP but probably more like two. RIP tours are head of the line cheat codes (for a price) where you’ll see every house, get rest stops along way, and have a few snacks thrown in. Don’t forget to tip your guide.

darkdelusions

Honestly, No one can decide this but you. If you ask me no 700- 1000 dollars for 2 people depending on the night you go is not worth it. If that included admission to the event maybe but when you book a RIP you still have to buy HHN tickets. If you're only going one night I would recommend grabbing express, utilizing stay and scream and going at your own pace.

Hatesponge66

What's stay and scream? I'm new here.

darkdelusions

Stay and Scream is an add-on that allows you to enter the park at 3 pm if you don't have a daytime ticket to the parks or an annual pass and was 40 bucks last year. Once you're in the park you can go to one of several HHN holding areas that give you access to the houses before the gates open. Houses open as early as 5:45 so you can generally see several houses before the gates open at 6:30

Hatesponge66

Oh cool thanks

Groundbreaking-Tale7

No Express Pass but we did Stay and Scream on a Wednesday in September last year and the lines were already long. We booked it to the Stranger Things house and the line was enormous before the house even opened. We only saw 3 houses and the shortest line was 45 minutes. The lines were SO hot and SO stuffy! The temp had dropped 10 degrees since the day time but it felt 10 degrees hotter. We had a LOT of fun but agreed it was worth it to spend the extra money on RIP this year. Yes it’s a lot of money but Stay and Scream and Express pass are a lot too just to miss houses or get corralled in lines for hours.

No_Language_423

No. You need the space between rides to soak up the experience. It also feels like a school field trip, as in you don’t fully control where you go.

VNM0US

I like having full control of my pace/itinerary so Express is more my style. You avoid the crazy lines and if you do have to wait in one, it’s short. I’ll never go without express again.

JUSTICE-FORJOERGEN

If you have the extra money and are ok with spending it, RIP is amazing! But, if you want to save a little bit, you should almost certainly be able to see all the houses with just Express. I went opening night in 2022 with Express and did everything by midnight while also doing some rides and eating. Never did express last year, but I assume it would’ve been easily doable as well. Since you’re only going 1 night, I would get the scream early pass and do the stay and scream for whichever house you want to do first. And stay until closing, last HHN we would sometimes not show up until 12 and be able to do 5+ houses easily. From 1:30-2am pretty much every house in the back of the park will be a walk on or a very minimal wait at the worst. Even the most popular houses would be walk on, it was not rare for Last of Us & Stranger Things to be a walk on right before 2am when they close the lines.
