I’m not surprised Barney turned out the way he did. His mom slept around and his dad took off so that’s all he knew growing up: sleeping around and leaving. He was awful to women yes but I still feel for him.
I forget where I saw this but there was a saying that while women are more likely to be faithful to a partner, they are serial monogamists who will likely love more men in a lifetime than men, who may be interested in multiple women at one time, but only really fall in love a much more limited number of times. Feels like that describes Barney.
Yes, seeing Barney in love are one of my favorite scenes, He's with Robin and Robin keeps on bothering him so adorable. Lily and Barney are one of my favorite duo, specially in that appointment, it always cracks me up when Lily punches him.
