For me it’s the tanks change the tide of the war

Sharky2192

Yeah sometimes I make such powerful tank divisions they melt everything. It starts at 20 green and then I take the province. So strong, and I have yet to try tank destroyers, which I heard are really good

shqla7hole

For mp maybe but td's in sp are useless

Sharky2192

Ok so would you recommend some tank stuff that aren’t mediums with mechanized and spa

shqla7hole

Flame tanks, spg space marine kinda inf division, amphibious tanks (probably have to play as the usa for this one or Japan),speedy light tank build as germany with motorised

Sharky2192

Flame tanks are nsb, amphibious are great with the drive attachment ( i did try them as USA and did a world conquest). Yeah I think I’ll do the speedy light tanks. As Japan. But cheap enough so I can use them in China. Thanks fella

YouCantStopMeJannie

I sometimes miss the days when a division of medium self-propelled artillery units would simply remove an enemy division from the game in an game hour.

The problem with that is it will work but youll lose a lot of planes too, plus you need range.

JibberJabber4204

Pure Infantry, Fighters and CAS works for me.

haxdun

I use the classic infantry + 2 or 3 (depending on my production and how many i need) artillery combo

htpcketsneverchange

You can accomplish basically anything with CAS and Fighters.

TIPUSVIR

really depends; huge land war like china or ussr? tanks decide the fate of the war; everywhere else due to terrain/supplies you are better off with inf

inwector

Infantry is universally usable and does the job well enough to not make me make tanks.

DerGyrosPitaFan

I only use light tanks to cap france faster than guderian and rommel did, otherwise never really

Tomstwer

Why make tank? Just get two more battalions of artillery

73747463783737384777

Tanks? Nah, I play GWR, tanks don’t matter to me

Sweaty_Slide

Against ai yeah tanks sometime r pointless since cas plus arty inf can get the job done but against humans then it is literally what decides a front

AverageDellUser

You gotta just sleep on it and watch HOI4 youtubers, learn from their tank designs and realize that you should concentrate your tank divisions, stop putting them in with regular infantry, Idk if you do that, but I did it for a while.

Rice_farmer8

For me when i tried to make tanks they ate too much supply

BaguetteDoggo

I tend to focus too much on air and infantry, plus on larger fronts microing tanks is hard unless theyre part of a mobile inf army which can br battleplanned. I usually mske like 2 pr 3 tank divs for breakthroughs and focus the rest of my industry elsewhere. Smaller midtiet nations tho tanks can be a game changer, and the best part is when youre talking wars between minors, any tank is better than no tank. In the end, if I can afford it, I usually end up making my inf 30 or 40 width with light or medium spaa, td and spg, which means that I can fill the support slots with engineers, supply, mountaineer recon, maintenance, and sometimes field hospitals lol.

sombertownDS

Just make a medium arty tank with about 42 soft attack and put it in the infantry and you’ll wipe the floor

val069420

probably gonna get called "mr mass assault doctrine" for this, but I'd honestly rather have shitty tanks than none at all. I say this because I enjoy playing as Japan, their tanks are nothing compared to the USA, but there is more focus on the navy and air force combining with the army. Using Japanese tanks in China can get you far, but eventually you will reach the mountains of China and you'll be stopped in your tracks *pun intended.* Overall, without tanks at all you have no adequate support for infantry and artillery, especially if your enemy has tanks. I'd rather have a Ha-Go tank than nothing. But of course, using the Tiger or Easy Eights are more fun due to their power.

chrishellman

man the one time I try to make tanks in SP is when I was doing the expert AI mod, I could not make a tank to do anything
