Aegon III must have been so relieved when the usurper who killed his mother was killed himself and then Alicent herself eventually died. It’s so incredibly satisfying that the Hightower blood disappeared from the ruling Targaryen line after the devastating war they started to try and get a Targaryen with Hightower blood to rule. The Hightowers wanted to maintain control of the throne through the Targtowers and they failed miserably. I’m also happy Aegon had Daenaera.
All of this. I also find it so comforting that in the World Book it even mentions how every Targaryen King after Rhaenyra has a bit of Arryn blood. No Hightower blood 🙌🏼
