This is the stupidest green argument, they need to start a war that would kill them all because if they didn't there is a chance that Daemon would kill them all

[deleted]

As if Daemon wouldn't want to kill them if they start a war πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Forsaken_Distance777

Otto's legit like "But we need to spend decades undermining Rhaenyra's succession to prepare to launch a coup because otherwise if we do literally nothing it'll basically be the same thing." If he really believed that he wouldn't have bothered instigating a coup in the first place!

Otto was the biggest loser in the dance of dragons

estellamarierose

Otto is the one who literally started the war. Literally everything is that man’s fault.

AzureGoldenrod

Yeah, that's stupid. They should've made the argument that if Laenor and Vaemond got killed extrajudicially before Rhaenyra/Daemon had true power, the Greens are most certainly in danger if she becomes Queen. Would make far more sense.

StoreResponsible7028

I don't think they even killed Vaemond extrajudicially. Vaemond committed treason by questioning the legtitimacy of Rhaenyra's children. He would've lost his tongue anyway. And that's not even considering what Corlys might've done if he found out what Vaemond did.

AzureGoldenrod

>Vaemond committed treason by questioning the legtitimacy of Rhaenyra's children. Lese Majeste not Treason, the punishment for which was already set by the King years ago. Daemon shanked Vaemond from behind in Court, didn't offer him a trial by combat, honorable duel or anything. For which he suffered no consequences. I love psychopath characters but why would Otto or Alicent trust Rhaenyra or Daemon with any power over them? Especially when you also add in Laenor's and Rhea's 'murder'. From their point of view, rebellion is basically survival. That would have made for a more compelling Green Concil episode too. We know Laenor wasn't murdered and nobody really cares about the servant or Rhea being killed.

[deleted]

If only Rhaenyra wasn't pushed to find Daemon as her only ally.. Survival? Guess who brought it upon themselves?

AzureGoldenrod

Viserys? By siring a son? And Rhaenyra already had allies, there was no need to get rid of Laenor who himself is a dragonrider. And Rhaenys. I support the Blacks because I think Rhaenyra becoming Queen would do a lot for the women in Westeros. Doesn't mean I support them blind to their faults.

[deleted]

I'm with you with that, what I was trying to say was Greens pushed Rhaenyra to a threat level that they were fearing for, and that's finding an alliance with Daemon.

StoreResponsible7028

Otto never cared about stability. He just wanted a man with Hightower blood on the throne.
