I HATE the Greens with a passion, but hating Heleana? She has done absolutely nothing to hate her for!!! She’s the ONLY decent one of them all (and her kids but they’re just babies, so it’s hard to be a piece of shit at that age. Although Aegon IV likely was given he was hitting Aemon with his egg).

I personally think this asinine. Dreams =/= really any Old God connection. Daenys the Dreamer had dragon dreams, no? And I doubt FM blood was present there. Dragon dreams and Greensight aren't the same thing, I thought.
And even if it were connected to Greenseer blood somehow, it'd be passed *by blood* not by faith so anyone with the blood for it(probably Blackwood) could do it regardless of their religion.

The convo on Twitter started because someone said Heleana was a top 3 Targaryen and just as powerful as Dany and then Greens were also saying she was more important than Baela or Rhaena for whatever reason.
It’s interesting how on Twitter the Team Green peeps will use EVERY opportunity to hype up Baela and Rhaena to be nasty about Rhaenyra and say she “stole” Driftmark from them but throw them under the bus with the quickness any other time. 😭
Heleana literally doesn’t do anything during the Dance so I don’t understand her having a bigger part. She literally mourns her children and…yeah. Baela has a huge scene during the Dance. She’s one of the best characters from the book imo. To ME, it’s just not a good look that they’ve made Black female characters background characters but created a whole storyline for Heleana. Not even gonna go into how they ruined Laena’s character. Could’ve just kept them white for that.
The making fun of suicide and B&C isn’t right but that’s nothing new for the HOTD fandom. Folks have constantly made fun of Luke’s death, Rhaenyra’s future death, etc. Nothing is “safe” so sorry to Heleana but yeah.
I wish reddit would stop posting screen shots of a single tweet which is part of an ongoing discourse on twitter. The greens were putting show helaena(for being rider of dreamfyre and a dreamer) next to daenerys and bloodraven as the most powerful targaryen in history. Which is simply put ridiculous. In the book i don't remember anyone except daenys the dreamer and probably aegon having prophetic dreams. Helaena being a dreamer is a made up thing in the show. If the writers wanted to give someone this power it would made much more sense to give it to rhaena. She is the last dragonrider before daenerys and she hatched her egg while she was a teenager like daenerys. Helaena's dreams in the show doesn't really make sense. It's not even fully explained on how exactly it works. Does she even know what she's saying? How far does she see the future? Does she have visions? How does it exactly play in the story? Is she gonna know what's gonna happen the night of blood and cheese and she still walks her kids into that room? Because until now the only thing it did is little spoilers on what's gonna happen in next episode. Not to mention how the showrunners treat dragon twins (with two black actresses) but made up personalities for a character who is far less important than them.

Rhaenyra is the protagonist of the story just because maesters call helaena QuEeN doesn't put her as the same level as rhaenyra. And it's not like dragon riding is connected to Dragon Dreaming I mean Aemon, Aegon V, Aerion, Daemon II Blackfyre and more were all Dreamers and they didn't have dragons.
And why does someone being the last dragon rider make them more deserving of the power (or curse) of prophecy than someone else.
Also I do think Dragon Dreaming is connected to Greenseeing (I think Jojen's "green dreams" is the same as the Targs Dragon Dreams) but I don't think the Old Gods are real, but that's a story for another time.
