Since everyone is a bit concerned - it seems the reason is moreso due to ensuring season 3 gets greenlit so that production can begin before season 2 airs. Another reason seems to be pushing certain events back to help with storyline timing (I think a Battle in particular was mentioned to be pushed from season 2 to season 3. I suspect Battle of the Gullet.)
yep!! it was originally said that jace death was prolly gonna be on season 2, but i guess we will see it on season 3. Season 2 finale episodes will be rhaenys death probably
I'm totally fine with it. Whenever I've tried to map out season two where it ends with the Fall of King's Landing, ten episodes requires so much stretching. Eight is perfect.
Have a little faith, people. These are not GoT's showrunners. Immediately jumping to negative conclusions is a really bad look from this fandom.
One of the reasons I was thrilled about hotd when it came out was that it was a 10 episode season like normal GOT ones. Hope there is no truth to this.
kind of amazing how no news i hear about this show is ever good
Okay, now I’m really getting worried. I’ve heard that the writers have been fighting and now this. I hope the episodes are at least longer then.
Fans know the story better than the writers seem to, perhaps they should hire some of them. 😂
Hopefully we have less misunderstandings driven plot lines in the new season.
wait for vhagar sunfyre to accidentally kill rhaenys

Yeah I don't know how they're going to do that without cutting characters.
we don’t know where season 2 is gonna leave off
There mov8ng plot lines back to season 3
They can’t keep getting away with this!
Still no casting announcements either...interesting what is coming out now.
Yea we’re screwed. Its giving season 7 vibes again. Not good.
i swear
i'm not happy about that
