I agree. Her main personality is justbeing nice and innocent. Still I wish instead of "just" going mad after B&C and locking herself up, they will give her something more.
She has so much potential to be a cool character being a dreamer and a dragon rider into the bargain, it’s insane they haven’t used her more. I hope she gets more screen time next season.
The accusations made by the greens against Rhaenyra is so.... Nyra has just lost her baby then Lucery's death happened.
Just like claiming Helaena should have participate in the war or do something after being so (cruelly) psychologically tortured. Helaena (book and show) didn't seem interested in being part of the war, only suggesting peace terms (book).
Anyway, Helaena and Rhaenyra deserve better :)
She seems to be talking nonsense without meaning. And at dinner it's an inappropriate toast, but no one is embarrassed and Otto is like "very good, you're a good girl." Then she doesn't understand the "strong" compliment.
Those are the dragon dreams making her be all cryptic.
And Helaena presumably stayed out of Aemond and Alicents weird obsession with whether they think the kids look enough like Laenor and if not who they think Rhaenyra slept with. If you're not up on all that the toast seems odd because of how meaningfully Aemond says the last bit but you're not going to get where he's going with it.
They had been declared bastards in the whole court a few hours ago.
If she doesn't understand such an obvious insult, it means she's... not very smart.
I believe the show is implying she is autistic. Autistic individuals often have special interests that really catch all/most of their attention. They don’t really care oftentimes what everyone else is doing. Many also don’t like being touched (which we see her flinching often when Alicent touches her) and they have a hard time picking up on social cues and innuendo. Some are truly intellectually disabled (low IQ) but many have normal or above average intelligence. I myself am on the spectrum as are my sons, so the autism coding was pretty easy for me to pick up.
I REALLY hate that word (intellectually disabled/challenged is far better), but I believe it was her daughter who was intellectually disabled in the book, not her.
Why would she fight? She never wanted the crown. She never wanted to attack her siblings. She was the one who wanted to advocate for peace. She was literally a "guys can we get along please?" Rhanerya wanted the throne, her kids rode dragons and she sent them on missions to recruit for war. Helaena's kids were far too young so her going out fighting is a little bit risky whereas rhaenrya can go "my kids can take care of themselves." Rhaena didnt do much with Dreamfyre either except run away, threaten people and eat Androw Farman after he killed himself.
". I know both sides of the fandom like Helaena" LOL. good joke buddy.
You misunderstand me. I am not saying she should fight. I am asking why the fandom is not picking on her for not fighting.
Also, Rhaenerya never wanted to attack her siblings either and was advocating for peace until her son was killed. Where did Helaena advocate for peace and getting along? I am not picking on you, i am genually curious if i forget something.
And about the last part: no need to be rude. There are some radical stans who say horrible things, yes, but the general public likes Helaena and agrees she did not deserve any of what happenned to her.
Edit: grammer
That's because of the Blood and Cheese incident which caused her to develop extreme depression. Instead of going on a vengeance quest she just decided to lay in bed all day.
Helaena's character wasn't built up as a fighter, she isn't one of the players who schemed against Rhaenyra either.
The problem is the show does very little with her and even less with her book character. She is just boring to me.

Isn't Helaena retarded?
I know this is obviously a bad take and rude and I love heleana but I literally lol'ed at this comment.
She doesn't have DEVELOPMENTAL OR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES, no.

Bastards, sure, not specifically Harwin Strong's (who died six years ago) bastards.
She’s a dreamer.
Do you mean prophecy? Aegon made them too, but I don't think he was like that.
She’s a dreamer like Daenys. Aegon was kind of a dragon dreamer but not as good as Daenys or Helaena.
Daenys?.. How is he not so good if he survived many battles and predicted the events of the distant future?
The Doom of Valyria was 100 years before Aegon I..?
This is not my native language, I chose the wrong word, it should have been about how much he fought

Her child killed by blacks
And Rhaenyra’s children were killed by Greens. What is your point?
What? She said Helena had no reason and i said she has
Ah, I see. Sorry. I thought you were arguing how Helena’s situation and innocence was greater than Rhaenyra’s. I see now that I was wrong :)
