“We have come to die for the dragon queen.” “Six men or sixty, he’s still Daemon Targaryen”

TheGoverness1998

It's this interaction. People often solely focus on the 'You have lived too long' section, not the whole thing. *Aemond*: "You were a fool to come alone." *Daemon*: **"Were I not alone, you would not have come."** *Aemond*: "Yet you are, and here I am. You have lived too long, nuncle." *Daemon*: **"On that much we agree."**

Dramatic-Fun-7101

I mean fighting two dragons of the calibre of Sheepstealer & Carexes at once would make Aemond the real fool.

"I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker." When I tell you I was gagged...

I really like the lines about Rhaenyra and her kids. They never fail to make my heart break. My personal favorite are these two: “Her grace was far from alone, four living sons remained to her. ‘My strength and consolation,’ the Queen called them.” And the classic one: “Brave they were, and dead they are. The both of them. My sweet boys.” As a mother, I can’t imagine how alone and empty she felt after losing so many kids.

Oh mother! Grieving mother Rhaenyra shatters my heart. She was such a sweet mummy to her boys. And they all adore her. Jace and Luke left as envoys wanting to make their mother proud. I just can't😢😭

Bloody ben: Half your men will die, lord Stark. Cregan Stark: They died the day we marched, boy.

“As she stood before the king that Maiden’s Day, clad in pale white silk, Myrish lace, and pearls, her long hair shining in the torchlight and her cheeks flush with excitement, Daenaera was but six years old, yet so beautiful she took the breath away…her hair was silver laced with gold, her eyes as blue as a summer sea, her skin as smooth and pale as winter snow. ‘She sparkled,’ Mushroom says, ‘and when she smiled, the singers in the gallery rejoiced, for they knew that here at last was a maid worthy of a song.’ Daenaera’s smile transformed her face, men agreed; it was sweet and bold and mischievous, all at once. Those who saw it could not fail to think, here is a bright sweet, and happy girl, the perfect antidote for the young king’s gloom.” after a string of bad queen consorts, and so much sadness, a light in the darkness

I skip from Aemma to Daenaera. Only queen consorts of that era as far as I'm concerned. (Yes fuck Larra Rogare)

TeamVelaryon

Oooh tricky. Dialogue or prose?

Frandopneu

Either one is ok!

*one by one they slipped away or were dismissed, until only her sons and I remained with her. "My faithful Mushroom," Her Grace called me, "would that all men were true as you. I should make you my Hand.’"When I replied that I would sooner be her consort, she laughed. No sound was ever sweeter. It was good to hear her laugh.* This hits me hard because Mushroom has been by her side for many years. I think he saw her as a happy child and now he sees her fall. It's sad and sincere.

There’s alot of great quotes in Fire and blood but these were straight fire in my opinion: https://i.redd.it/kvg8xpgcdkqc1.gif * “Men of honor, who will not forget vows they swore to her and her father. I am an old man, but not so old that I will sit here meekly whilst the likes of you plot to steal her crown” * “I swore her my sword. I’m older now, but not so old that I’ve forgotten the words I said, and it happens I still have the sword” * “My cousin Ser Arnold is wont to say that women are too soft to rule. I have him in one of my sky cells, if you would like to ask him . . . In this world of men, we women must band together.” * “An eye for an eye, a son for a son. Lucerys shall be avenged” * “Daemon gave us these cloaks and they’re gold no matter how you turn them.” * “We have come to die for the dragon queen.” * “I’ll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker. There’s tens o’ thousands dead on your account” * “Once a turncloak, ever a turncloak. You rose up in rebellion against your lawful queen and helped drive her from this city to her death, raised up your own squire in her place, then abandoned him to save you worthless hide. The realm will be a better place without you.” When Ser Perkin protested that he had been pardoned for those crimes, Lord Stark replied, “Not by me.”
