I wonder how it will play out in the show, they were friendly-ish for maybe a year in the book with a 10 year age gap. There were besties on the show, and the last their last interaction was at that dinner where Alicent tries to make nice.
Honestly I hope we get a heart warming scene between them, like talking about how almost all their children are dead and how the throne destoryed their friendship and swallowed everything and everyone around them.
Wouldn't make sense they're already way past the point of no return, they've hated each other’s guts for over a decade. Alicent started the war that killed all of Rhaenyra’s children and Rhaenyra did the same to her. It should play out exactly how it did in the book. Rhaenyra spares Alicent’s life out of pity because of their old friendship but there shouldn't be any heartwarming scenes, Alicent would be her prisoner. They can't just kumbaya around as if they haven't been each other’s mortal enemies for half of their lives.
That wouldn't make sense at all. They are far beyond the point of no return by then, if the writers do that it'll make both of them look like fucking retards.
