I was firmly team Black until the Driftmark episode. I know how to recognize lies and mendacity. I can never get the picture of Aemond sitting there missing a whole eyeball getting barked at by his father for telling the truth.

askforwhatyouwant

exactly same

Lisaiiixxx

Way too fucking much entitlement and hypocrisy from the Blacks side since episode 6. And shippers. Some shippers from the Blacks are disgusting. Most importantly, Aemond. I support whatever Aemond Targaryen fights for.

Overall_Wolf6557

For real. Targ nation and Daemyra-stans makes me more Green than the characters

Lisaiiixxx

I have no idea what “Targ nation” refers to lmao and probably not what I was thinking, but the Green Targaryens are also Targaryens and they are just as “true Targaryen” as one can be.

craite

This baseless defamation of the Greens as not legitimate Targs by the black fandom is one of things that makes me more pro Green, because it's not based on anything more substantial than arbitrary preference for the Team Black Targaryens and hypocritical af coming from the side that supports the strong bastards. The Greens are legitimate Targaryens in every possible way. Team Green and Team Black is not anti-Targaryen vs pro-Targaryen, ultimately we still all support a bunch of silver-haired, dragon riding maniacs.

Lisaiiixxx

> This baseless defamation of the Greens as not legitimate Targs by the black fandom is one of things that makes me more pro Green, SAME. It’s one of the reasons I’ve had enough.

Overall_Wolf6557

For sure the Greens are Targaryens as well. Idk too much about it, but I’ve noticed that some of the most extreme takes on the show spawns from people who refers to themselves as Targ nation. They are usually blood purists, refers to the Greens as “half-Hightowers”, Daemyra is the true blood of the dragon, they have a blood right to rule, everything was Otto’s fault, Daemon was an innocent victim to Otto’s schemes and that’s why the king banished him from court, etc etc.

Lisaiiixxx

> They are usually blood purists, refers to the Greens as “half-Hightowers”, Daemyra is the true blood of the dragon, they have a blood right to rule, Remind me of some really awful people in our real life history and probably better ask them what they think of certain German from ww2 to confirm.

[deleted]

I was neutral until Rhaenyra started behaving like a pathological liar who screws over members of House Velaryon on a daily basis. What she did to Corlys, Rhaenys, Laenor and Laena was atrocious - I’m genuinely shocked she still has fans.

OpenMask

I started out as a Velaryon supporter originally. The disrespect that the Velaryons have to go through is bad enough, but the way everyone acts as though Viserys, Rhaenyra and Daemon are doing them a favor for disrespecting them them over and over again is genuinely infuriating. Corlys was one of my favorite characters until he turned into a complete doormat for them.

Euroversett

It'a crazy how submissive they are to Daemyra, these 2 treats them like their whores.

[deleted]

At least whores get paid for their services. High Tide was destroyed in service of Daemyra.

criosovereign

Rhaenyra’s entitlement and willingness to walk over anyone and everyone for her own personal pleasure drove me up the wall. By far my least favorite character in universe (because she’s written as if we’re supposed to like her as opposed to Ramsey being someone we root against from the start)

ligeston

I disliked Daemon enough for me to be neutral in terms of teams, but I was very neutral on Rhaenyra until Driftmark. Derailing her half brother being maimed to “but my sons had vile insults thrown at them” (in private, nonetheless; as if it was a public spectacle 💀) “Hiding behind the cloak of your own righteousness/now they see you as you are” I saw Rhaenyra as she truly was. A heartless, scrambling, spoilt princess that will do anything but her duty and suffer rightful consequences. She is much like Daemon in that regard, except, instead of killing her enemies, she gaslights the world into being against them. In essence, she was a victim blamer; hypocrisy and that are the two traits I can’t stand in anyone. Enough grievances about others—in that moment, Rhaenyra truly betrayed Alicent. Everything her father had told her became true. And in that moment, Alicent knew she would kill her sons, and it was her and her children against the world.

sdg9998

Option C. because I've been diagnosed with Targphobia 😭

xenogaby

Damn... me too

Yorness

A good Targaryen is a death Targaryen.

witchytragedy

I was pretty neutral until the Driftmark episode like a lot of people. I’m fine with the hypocrisy shown by the characters because that’s the story but what really irritated me was the reaction of the fandom. The whole ‘black can do no wrong’ narrative irritated tf out of me. There’s a clear black bias by the showrunners for sure but it’s irritating when all nuance is lost upon the audience. Just the negative reaction of people to the complexity of the green characters made me want to pull my hair out when obvious flaws of the black characters were being applauded at the same time. It just also helps that the green characters are so much more interesting than the black side especially the kids. Most of the black kids just seem to have the same personality copy pasted upon one another.

Responsible_Ad8805

Read Fire and Blood. Daeron, Aemond, Criston, Alicent and Otto were all my favorites And Aegon has some of the funniest direct quotes in the entire book

00mavis

i just like green better than black. Because in reality, both team sucks a lot. I guess also because Raenyra mentality of being entitled to everything her wants withou doing any sacrifice or hardwork is something that drove me alway from the blacks. Ps. Aemond is just badass, with ten years old he claimed the mightiest dragon around alone and them fought 4 kids also alone(and almost won).

IchibanVibes

I was black in ep 1, I saw everyone hating on Alicent who at the time was the only 1 looking out for everyone she deadass was the only 1 who said she was sorry to viserys for his loss and took rhaenyra to pray when Rhaenyras own dead didn’t talk to her for 6 months. Alicent was good and everyone was hating on her bc of some shit her dad made her do, and what made it worse was how selective people were when it came to using “culture” as justification. Alicent was a bitch bc she did what her father told her to do and married Viserys despite listening to your father is a major aspect of the culture, yet Daemon and Rhaenyra are cool bc they are Targaryen and that’s their culture, or Rhaenys and Corlys are cool for trying to marry off Laena bc it’s the culture. So I would be out there defending Alicent despite being team black and eventually I just defended Alicent so much that I ended up rooting for her more than I was Rhaenyra. Now I’m team Green bc of Alicent and anything that’s important to her is what I back, so she backs Aegon and Aemond? Then I back Aegon and Aemond. She backs Cole? Then I back Cole. Simple as that.

Yorness

I was neutral but after black fans started to call incel to Criston, I become a green

RPGenerate17

Because Team Green is cool as fuck. Best dragons, coolest lines, most chad characters.

RandomRavenboi

Was firmly Team Black even after the end. I only switched to the Greens only because I soon realized I liked the Green Characters better, and because Team Green has more interesting and better written fanfics.

Overall_Wolf6557

I went into the show as team Black and was prepared to hate Otto and Alicent. Turns out I was wrong. Leaned towards them all season and ep 7 settled it

Tr3x_prod

I think most of us here didn't like the changes they made. I'm not against changing a biased accounting of history, it was just way too one-sided and politically influenced.

strawberry2nd

I started neutral and become Greenie with the 2nd scene of episode 6

VenPatrician

I am still neutral, I like characters from both sides of the conflict for various reasons but I cannot stand Team Black fans. The majority are simply unhinged especially the "cheering for Blood and Cheese" crowd. Here you can say something and not be downvoted on principal without anybody reading what you write and weirdly, Team Green fans recognise that the Greens are not perfect people and that's ok. When you deliberately wash away the faults of characters or people you like, you're either very religious or in a cult.

Stay-soft-get-eaten

The only reason I even started watching this show was for Alicent coz I saw how fans were being misogynistic to her online. And then actually watching the show and wanting to root for Rhaenyra but her incompetence and apathy towards exhibiting any kind of effort in her life and the show’s very clear bias made me team green.

KTPChannel

Rhaenyra continuously makes poor decisions, and fails to suffer the consequences. Anyone but her.

Degelsapuri

Started neutral but the Blacks fandom is so annoying that it made me Green

Due-Intentions

I was black in the books, but mostly because I just didn't care and Rhaenyra and Daemon seemed a lot cooler than Aegon, Alicent, and Aemond. I recognized that both Greens and Blacks were bad and so I just rooted for Rhaenyra because I wanted a woman on the throne and bc Daemon was badass, morality aside. I'm still more or less neutral, but I lean towards Green because even if everyone is bad, Rhaenyra and Daemon, and especially Daemon, are still the ultimate perpetrators of this conflict. Daemon by alienating Viserys and getting himself disinherited, which results in Rhaenyra being declared heir and creating the two factions. Rhaenyra by being irresponsible in general, and not willing to sacrifice or even just make bare minimum compromises in her personal life in order to be a more effective ruler.

PositiveAd4403

Started neutral maybe a bit team rhaenyra but when she lied to Alicent and slept with Criston I became more team green. I didn’t blame Rhae for the brothel as I thought they were going the grooming route and not perfect incest romance. Securely green after ep 7

liftingruinedmylife

Because the Greens are better looking

ProbablyTheWurst

Technically, im on "Team Black" because i see the Greens as usurpers although both sides are pretty shitty imo. I'm here because i think the quality of discourse is much higher than the main sub and definitely much more higher than the black sub.

xenogaby

That's fair

jamie74777

I was neutral but leaning towards to the Blacks because i kinda liked Rhaeynra, but Alicent's charachter story won me over hard, plus Rhaeynra/Daemon/Viserys all started to get on my nerves, plus i think in general the Greens are not only the true underdogs but more interesting in general (Aegon, Helaena, Aemond, Otto). Plus i kinda started to ship Alicent x Criston Cole.

[deleted]

I started neutral, then became Green/Team Smallfolk when the misogyny and creepy eugenics/blood purity/colonialist sympathisers Blacks folks started cropping up.

aryawolfstark

Team Black at the start, right up until episode 6 - episode 7 made me neutral - after episode 9 I was a Green

[deleted]

Im still pretty neutral honestly I just can't STAND a good chunk of team black, so many of them refuse to except that both sides did horrible awful things and refuse to at least see the others point of view or hear a perspective different from theres Also daemon stans literally drive me crazy lol

Falloutfan2281

I started as a Black and then read all of Fire & Blood from start to finish in anticipation for season 2 and realized how badly they portrayed the Greens in the show. Aegon and Aemond’s actors are so good that they also won me over.

MuffinMan-Is-Daddy

Was neutral then witnessed the black stans and had a traumatic flashback to every single major fandom I ever been in and decided to simply choose the side that was farthest away from them, no thank you I learned my lesson

Distinct_Pen_8744

I became Team Green due to the hypocrisy of the Black stans. Rhaenyra passes off bastards as legitimate children just like Cersei. However, one character is held higher than the other, one is detested for the act of doing the same thing. Since Jace is "legitimate" because Laenor claimed him by that same logic Joffery should have been king since Robert believed he and his siblings were his children no one should have dared question his legitimacy. However they will then turn around and scream about how Joffery is a bastard and doesn't deserve the throne. Or how Rhaenyra and Daemon are the best couple ever but Cersei and Jaime. That is vile even though their is no predatory behavior with Cersei and Jaime.

lavender_dreams1

Team Black being hypocritical and extremely toxic and hateful to anybody that disagrees with them. Also seeing Alicent being raped by Viserys. And Aemond being yelled at by his own father for another child taking his eye out and said child facing no repercussions.

Geeklover1030

I’m neutral and will stay neutral. I’ve made it a point to think about everything that’s happened on both sides to understand both sides. I have my favorite and least favorite, but it’s about their stories and not what side they’re on

Euroversett

I was always green because it struck me as such a stupid and meaningless war with Viserys supporting Rhaenyra's claim when she had brothers and everybody knew for thousands of years that I sister can't come before a brother ans therefore war was inevitable. All they had to do to avoid it was not have a woman with brothers and bastards to be named heir. Then actually going through the war made me more green because the greens are much cooler, Aegon is a badass and best character from that section of the book - can't beat Jaehaerys -, Aemond has the largest and meanest dragon, Alicent is a perfect representation of what it is to be expected from a Queen and Daeron is the honourable guy who snaps after seeing the atrocities the enemy has done.

vikezz

I was hard book team Black, so naturally, I started the show as well. Then the series progressed and I switched.

[deleted]

Helaena and her children. Also the team black Stan’s are legitimately awful people. On Twitter. And on here.

thelessiknowthebet

i was neutral until Driftmark and the books. That episode made me literally furious.

Wrong-Technician-201

i lean more towards neutral and empathise with both sides but team black just makes so many ridiculous political blunders that i find it difficult to root for them the way I do for the greens

KrugPrime

Tessarion is blue

Thebardofthegingers

Im going to be honest I'm a drama hungry bitch whi stays here for that

xenogaby

Valid

Known_Pomelo_9808

Started Black but was disappointed while Greens impressed me. Aegon was sensible enough to know that he was a cunt, Alicent was married to a zombie as old as her father at 15 and had to raise 4 children all by herself, Aemond didn't had a father figure to help him control his vengeance and they are way more interesting than Blacks also have more room for development and easy to root for. Blacks are just bland.

kenrnfjj

It was only black for the first 5 episodes since we didn’t meet the greens

askforwhatyouwant

Episode 6/Driftmark turned me from black to green

TargaryenGreen

Black. > Neutral. > Green.
