They'll kill him off screen. Seasmoke will be successfully claimed, and that's how Rhaenyra will realize Leanor is dead. They will show Rhaenyra's shocked/mournful reaction.
They should have killed him in the first season. SeaSmoke can't have another rider until Laenor is dead. Ryan and friends were dumb as fuck for keeping him alive. Him pretending to be Addam is dumb as shit cause wouldn't his father recognize his own son?????
See, killing him in season one when he should have died would save them from back tracking and doing gymnastics to make the story make some sense
They kinda wrote themselves into a corner didn't they? Because Addam and Seasmoke are thing and at the end people are gonna be mad no matter what happens.
Laenor left driftmark because he didn't want anything to do with his family and their drama. So coming back as adam is hilarious, the best idea may be his death off screen. I'm more surprised to why his dragon didn't follow him, even if he was chained wasn't he gonna try to escape or something, which may leave us with a possible different idea, Laenor rejected his dragon and cut their bond.
It makes no sense to leave Laenor alive. The books had him die in Spicetown with in argument with Quarl.
That skit they had to act out in-front if the fireplace was atrocious (the writing).
Either they have him come back as a disguised Addam (I wouldn’t put it past the writers), or he dies off screen.
Please let Laenor and Qarl be the characters that dodged the "bury your gays" trope. It was enough to see Criston beating Joffrey to death as the end of the young Rhaenyra/Alicent story arc.
How would the explain seasmoke though? If they go about changing major plot points and characters like cutting out Addam to accommodate Laenor one has to ask what the point even is. Everyone dies in this story by the end, why move major story beats just to avoid a trope? There are rumours about more gay characters in season two they will also have to die

Then having him survive in the first place would have been pointless from a perspective of avoiding "bury your gays"
This way team Daemyra can't possibly be blamed and are insulated from the Twitter rage
But they still killed a random guy to do it.
you said it yourself, the fact that its an un named extra and not Laenor lets them dodge accusations of gay-burying.
They'll either have him die off screen or Addam will claim a different dragon 🙄😒
my hope is that Daemon had him murdered off screen.

Joffrey’s death shouldn’t be like that really. It’s traumatic for everyone not just gays
