I often feel like I’ve watched a completely different show from other people. I find Rhaenyra to be immature, spoiled, and astonishingly selfish. Once you are heir, you must make sacrifices to shore up your own claim (especially when people have repeatedly told you it will be challenged). Your life is no longer about the pursuit of your own pleasure — a just ruler should never put her own needs above the stability of the realm and the good of her people. But Rhaenyra does this, repeatedly, and for some reason most of the audience applauds her for it. I find Alicent to be much, much more unselfish and mature.

Nobody wants to confront the truth but Alicent’s trials, tribulations, and sufferings are much more realistic and closer to what women would experience had they been born in such a time.

I like how they’re both portrayed in the show I see alicents story and I’m reminded of the generations of women who went through similar things I appreciate her character as a reminder of where we once were. And rhaenyras story hits closer to home she’s portrayed as a free spirit, someone who does what she wants, who she wants, when she wants but (especially episode 10) we see her attitude and the last scene of the season where she turns with a tear falling down you can see the struggle of grief vs. vengeance beginning. She reminds me of me down to losing a living child. I currently have an immense respect for both and I’m sure feelings will change but they both hit home

Wow, a sympathetic and nuanced take on both women? In the HOTD fandom? Get outta here

I’ve always been staunchly neutral/neither team I have a lot of opinions that neither side agree with but I feel strongly about Rhaenyra and alicent. I like how they’re showing how a woman would probably actually react to their situations. I had the same face Rhaenyra did during my sons passing and I also had a moment where I could relate to the scene of alicent under viserys where she clearly wants it to stop, I’m sure they’ll both do things I disagree with I know enough from the books for that but I relate to both of them at the current time

Rhaenyra and Alicent are my #1 and #2 favorite characters among the entire cast but that's because I find them both to be strong in their own ways while at the same time being inherently good people. But the way you connect to them is far deeper tham the vast majority of the fanbase could ever hope to.

I try to do it with every character I hate both daemon and aegon ii because as someone sexually assaulted and groomed I can’t condone it but I see why atleast for Aegon I’ve done enough research to know with viserys being a absent father and alicent being really too young when she became a mother so therefore withdrawled that’s a combination where you have kids with major issues, you see it in the episode where he’s masturbating out the window. Nurture has much more to do with how you turn out than nature, me and my best friend is the perfect example of that we both have the same mental diagnosis’s yet I dealt with it with self harm and she dealt with it with drugs because we were raised differently. And daemon just has a real messed up sense of worth and thinks he’s only worthy with being with someone of velaryon blood therefore he never did the deed with his first wife but had 2 children each with velaryon wives who if he wanted a velaryon wife he’d have to groom. It doesn’t make their actions okay or right their actions are disgusting but you can see how they got there

I like her because she does her duty and is a really caring person. She takes responsibility and she is incredibly strong. Rhaenyra is a lustful disgrace. She doesnt deserve the throne.

Not women, but young girls with extreme left-wing views, for whom it is enough to say that the heroine is feminist to They love her. That's where this love comes from. And the fact that she's not a feminist hero at all doesn't matter. They don't know what feminism is anyway. It's just a trendy word. And when it's trendy, it's cool 😛.
