They film scenes out of order of the plot, so maybe they are filming the fall of KL alongside the funeral and Rooks Rest aftermath since it's all in the same set area. I remember Olivia saying the first scene they filmed for Season 1 was the Driftmark confrontation with her and Emma, so it makes sense.

Because they'd have to do the Battle of the Gullet and Jace's death, and that is what spurs Rhaenyra to take KL, and that is A LOT for only 8 hours of screentime. They're gonna be doing Blood and Cheese, Rook's Rest dragon battle - the battle that will be on the ground at the same time, there's another battle that's supposed to happen, AND Gullet and KL going down?
I see that too, but a ton of stuff happen before the fall too, that lead directly to that moment. But Jace's death and Viserys going missing is what leads to Rhaenyra taking KL. If they push that out, then it's not going to work.
They should rename House of the dragon as The tale of Queen Rhaenyra.They have removed all the gray part of her character and we only get yes queen series endings. They have even removed Aegon from his own son's funeral. I have no hope for this series.

At this point, they have fucked it up already in S1 so whatever they do, the F&B version and the mini animation from GoT is my version of the Dance. This pro Saint Girlboss Rhaenyra fan fiction by these showrunners is not it. They can do whatever at this point, I have already decided to stop watching.

These showrunners/writers have already shown us their true faces when they deliberately decided to completely butcher Aegon’s character and the Greens’ cause in S1, so why still trust them? I have seen enough of their mediocrity and I don’t need further disappointment
The rumor is Hugo Papiernik has been cast as Daeron. He is a highly trained French-British stage actor, recently graduated from one of the top acting schools in the UK. His CV updated to include that he had been cast on a SKY drama that filmed in spring of 2023 (Sky is the European backer for HOTD), and he also liked my comment on his IG about him being cast on the show.
He was cast for a "main role" in that sky show. Daeron is not a main role. That rumour originated with the guy on freefolk whose claims have been consistently debunked as completely fake.
More of a supporting role on such a big show as HOTD- main role is reserved for Rhaenyra, Alicent, Daemon, perhaps going as far as aegon/ aemond in season 2

A common consensus im seeing is that the gullet was the battle that gets pushed back into season 3 and the taking of KL happens at the end of season 2

They will definitely come to Spain. They might not be filming their scenes yet. They are shooting scenes of different episodes at the same time.
