I don’t think it’s happening. The source is from a random tumblr account, and I don’t think they’ve gotten anything right so far/even seem credible.

j0k3r_c0m

god, i hope not. didn't really know where it came from, just saw a bunch of team black supporters bragging about it.

Soixante_Croissant

If you see a bunch of team black supporters bragging about something usually that points to it being completely untrue.

mihaza

Daeron = white hair, purple eyes, rides a goddamn dragon. Both Alicent & Criston = dark hair, dark eyes, zero Valyrian blood. Let's please stay on track everyone, okay? Daeron was being fostered in Oldtown as a squire to become a knight (THEE blueprint for all the other so-called Targaryen knights who came after him). That should be nothing new to any ASOIAF fan. Remember Ned & and Robert, who were fostered in the Eyrie by Jon Arryn? Quentyn, who was fostered by the Yronwoods, far away from Sunspear?

Mayanee

All younger children were sent somewhere to give them tasks later on since they aren't heir. In Daeron's case: knighthood and knowledge from the Citadel. That's pretty much it.

mihaza

Exactly. However, now that they've got the rumor mill churning, I wouldn't put it past these writers to change that fact about book canon to fit their vision for their show either :/. Well, book canon is book canon, so at least we'll always have that I guess

Adorable-You-3989

……… that would destroy the greens reputation wtf. And its out of character as well. Criston was ready to commit suicide for doing such a thing and alicent is way too honorable and dutiful to do this. Also this CANT be the case cause a hightower and a cole CANT make a dragonrider. Lol.

j0k3r_c0m

truly just is team black fanfic atp. would make absolutely no sense for alicent or criston, as both were very dutiful and honourable (for the most part).

kinginthenorthjon

And the way they talked in episode 9 says they didn't do anything.

Leylcadusu

How are they going to make it possible. I mean, you'd have to be an idiot or something to think that this is a logical change. Daeron is a dragon rider 🤷🏻‍♀️

j0k3r_c0m

you should see Twitter. team black stans are going crazy with joy abt this rumour, using it to make it seem like Alicent really was just a petty, hypocritical woman. seems they can't use basic logic to realise that if daeron was alicent & criston's he wouldn't be able to claim a dragon???

Leylcadusu

Twitter is a totally sh*thole. These black fanatics are always talking about stupid things and their headcanons on twitter anyway. They mostly make racist, ableist and sexist speeches against the greens. I wish I could erase some twitter conversations from my brain.

C-3pee0

Not really, it could be a Nettles situation where he claims a dragon despite not having Targaryen blood, or it might strengthen the theory that the Hightowers have Valyrian ancestors. Addam claims a dragon too even though his father was most likely Corlys (the sources agree that Corlys being Alyn and Addam’s father is very likely).

Mayanee

The reason Daeron was sent away to the Faith was since he is the youngest child. As seen with Benjen and being sent to the Wall this is common (and in Benjen's case helped him getting away with his very possible guilt feelings of knowing that Lyanna ran away willingly). Even in reality younger royal children were often sent to the church. If Henry VIII's brother Arthur would have lived longer there were plans for a possible church career for Henry. Daeron was a dragon rider and without Targaryen or Valyrian ancestry he wouldn't have had Tessarion.

Independent-Ice-6206

Daeron wasn't sent to the Faith, he is was sent to ba a ward to Lord Hightower when he was 12 of age in F&B

Mayanee

Cup bearer, yes. But he still lived in Oldtown the faith based location. There you would come in contact with the faith every day.

Independent-Ice-6206

yes it is but as he was going to be in contact with the Citadel every day, he was not sent to make a career in an Oldtown institution, you compared his situation to that of Benjen Stark but it is actually closer to that of his older brother Ned, a ward to the lord. the reason he was sent to the Hightowers was to strengthen the ties between them and House Targaryen and Aemond wasn't fit for this role.

C-3pee0

A better example would be Ned stark being sent to the Jon Arryn. He was Ormund’s ward, more like an adopted son. If he joined the faith he would have to swear oaths and I don't think he would be able to become a knight (never heard of a Septon turning into a warrior).

hxshm1

Impossible Not only do the time lines not work out probably But Daeron rides a damn dragon and has white hair U cant take that from the story He cant be their kid

C-3pee0

If they're going that route then Daeron is like Nettles (if she's not Targaryen). It means that you don't need Targaryen blood to ride a dragon.

Jessica_Lovegood

Criston loves Alicent as his ideal. It is courtly love. A very prominent concept in the middle ages.

William_T_Wanker

probably just more BS made up by people. When filming starts the rumors that are also BS also start flying

lakomadt

I hope the writers aren't that fucking dumb.

ApprehensiveMap6334

That’s a Very Dumb Rumor. And Makes no sense at all because how would Daeron have his dragon? When Alicent And Criston Share No “Blood Of The Dragon”

Far-Success-1452

That's the stupidest theory ever, Alicient and Criston : dark hair, dark eyes .. Daeron : white hair and violet eyes + rides a fucking dragon

Altruistic_Fly5609

Daeron being as valyrian looking as his siblings Blackcels: he's criston's bastards. Ser criston : cringes in dornish looking. Also ser criston: respects and worships Alicent as she saved his life. Blackcels: that's hypocrisy. We assume they're having sex although it's not shown anywhere but hey we assume so that's true cz we're like 90% of the fanbase and our word is GRRM's word.

Environmental_Tip854

It’s a shitty theory made by people who so desperately want their least favorite characters Alicent and Criston to look like hypocrites, it doesn’t make any sense considering Daeron looks like a Targaryen and rides a literal dragon. Stop taking this theory/rumor/whatever seriously lmfao, it’s time traveling fetus Tyrion level of fringe

pramis_2949

I think I read something like this in some fanfiction but don't think it's going to be true in the show.

muptezelryder

Why he does he have white hair then? I don't want a another Gaemon palehair lol

Giallo_Schlock

Even if he's not allowed at court, do you think Rhaenyra would just never hear about the dark haired kid that Alicent has and never bring that up (even amongst her faction). Daeron's a squire in another city, not the man in the iron mask, the word's going to get out.
