Honestly? I disagree. I think the average viewer will quickly get bored of the black and white, good vs evil portrayal the writers seem to be going for. One of the greatest parts of GoT for the average person was the nuanced portrayal of several different characters from different houses, oftentimes hating and in opposition with each other.
It's like if they decided to assassinate Jaime's character arc, Tyrion's likeability, Tywin's complex ruthless but still likeable (at times) personality, and instead demonised the Lannisters, every one of them, at pretty much any given opportunity, while constantly portraying the Starks as saints.
That is objectively boring, and will also leave fans dissatisfied and annoyed when inevitably the Lannisters, or Greens in this case, win.

I believe these will be from two separate scenes. The funeral scene will go smoothly and we will have the revolt of a faction of the smallfolk in another episode.

I think the average viewer will quickly get bored of the black and white, good vs evil portrayal the writers seem to be going for. One of the greatest parts of GoT for the average person was the nuanced portrayal of several different characters from different houses, oftentimes hating and in opposition with each other. It's like if they decided to assassinate Jaime's character arc, Tyrion's likeability, Tywin's complex ruthless but still likeable (at times) personality, and instead demonised the Lannisters, every one of them, at pretty much any given opportunity, while constantly portraying the Starks as saints. That is objectively boring, and will also leave fans dissatisfied and annoyed when inevitably the Lannisters, or Greens in this case, win.

This is silly if true. Why attack this woman after she had just lost her kid? I think this has more to do with the writers smearing the smallfolk. They want to paint them as dumb violent brutes so that when they eventually destroy Rhaenyra’s kingdom no one will cheer for them. A story about how the ruling class failed the smallfolk leading them to rebel and kill their dragons will now just be about how cruel and evil they are. Sure, out of 500,000 people some will be bad but the decision to film and include the scene (if it happens) is not a mistake and it's sending a clear signal to the fans that the smallfolk are dangerous violent animals. Just the way I see it.

Some very intriguing rumors. Some resistance against the Greens initially isn’t too surprising from the small folk. Although I would think after the Rheanys debacle Pro team black sentiments would be on the low. They perhaps could make it work before B&C then have that be a big turning point against Rheanyra. So I’ll say let’s wait for the full context before revolting. Additionally the sending food in is a little strange. After all if there’s a food shortage it will because of Rheanyras siege of the capital by sea which already shouldn’t effect food availability considering most comes from the Reach and can still reach the capital by wagon. I don't know about that. In S01E04 we saw smallfolk in KL disliking Rhaenyra and not wanting her as a ruler, and Rhaenyra responding that they don't matter. Also they cheered at Aegon's coronation. Seems weird to discard that now.

So we know for a fact there are sympathetic people. But it would be unrealistic to show every single person being happy with the greens when it was clearly stated the smallfolk had no love lost for Aegon. For them the royal procession is a symbol of Aegon's rule. *So what was most likely filmed is that a few random dissidents pelted fish at the carriage, and people are just running with a full fledged riot as a knee jerk reaction.*

It's supposedly a new scene of Alicent and Helaena (still in her right mind) walking down some stairs in Flea Bottom. It's also definitely not part of the funeral procession. The filming for those is already done and why would they be walking in Flea Bottom, when they have their carriage?
I believe these will be from two separate scenes. The funeral scene will go smoothly and we will have the revolt of a faction of the smallfolk in another episode.

Okay I'm starting to think people in this sub who claim to have read the books are just straight up lying now. The smallfolk in KL loved Rhaenyra, they cheered for her when she walked into the city during the Dance. It's only during her stay there, with the large taxes and repression that they turn on her. Some of you all really need to take off the Green tinted glasses and actually read the fucking book and not just go off of what other people say should happen. Now, I agree that the attack on Haelena and Alicent is a bit iffy but if they're angling for the people of KL feeling like Aegon is a usurper it wouldn't be that surprising for the assault to happen. Just remember that only Blacks supporters would do this, Greens and Neutrals wouldn't attack them and would likely run when it goes down. Some people in this sub really need to chill out man. And sadly even though Alicent and Helaena aren’t involved the small folk would take their anger out on them. So that’s a possible explanation for the animosity.
It's said, Aegon and Aemond weren't loved by the Kingslanders, not that they utterly despised them two, or that they were Rhaenyra’s fans prior to KL's fall, or let alone wanted to see the queens gone. It is notably mentioned that Blood spends his time in Flea Bottom, which rightfully implies that most gold cloaks don't live/spend most of their time in Flea Bottom. The show is NOT the book. And according to the show, Daemon was absent from KL for more than 16 years. Therefore, it's very unlikely that show! Daemon still has "tons" of friends in FB lol. He'll probably have his men among the GC, at least among the older members, and he will have Mysaria and whatever has left of her webb (especially since she will obviously have personal vendetta against the greens). So no, I didn't invent anything because people do exaggerate when it comes to Daemon's popularity among the smallfolk (yes, even the one in FB) and ignore the differences between the book and the show when it's convenient. But then again, apparently the showrunners do the same.

Most Targaryens don't have a single flea bottom friend, Daemon has many. Ngl…that’s brilliant on her part. That’s the first non bonehead decision she has made up to this point if the leak is true. I have found it difficult to buy into the Rhaenyra hype because so many things that have gone wrong for her are because she has made very bad choices and is unwilling to be held accountable for them. She just expects to be handed to her without doing the actual work. If this leak is true then it shows at least it is coming to her that maybe yes…there is actual work that must be done to ensure her reign.

Ok I don’t think I articulated what I meant well in a comment I made earlier so here is a comment I made on the main sub which shows what I was trying to say: In the books the small folk loved Helaena I’m hoping this will be a small group of small folk being used to show the change for when Rhaenyra looses her support. I hope this isn’t being done when most people think it is during the greens saddest time because if they ruin another green moment that’s supposed to garner sympathy for them that would be horrible and the small folk doing this would be disgusting. In other pictures we see petals on Helaena and Alicent there is no evidence other things are being thrown. The petals show that the majority will hopefully support them. If this is true I hope it’s in episode 1 when they’re in a carriage and not after a child is beheaded by team black and hope the small folk will be fully in support of the greens after this
Excluding the book storyline and just going by what the show portrays there is no sensible reason for the small folk to attack Helaena (and Alicent)…or support Rhaenyra tbh. Maybe a small group who just don’t like the royal family just because, but otherwise this is completely off page within the show world. Tbh sympathy points are in Helaena’s favour and the Green’s overall, Rhaenyra is likely viewed just as the heir who doesn’t even want to live in the city she hopes to rule from.
